It's looking like Xbox is full steam ahead when it comes to building the next Halo game, with the Halo Infinite developer on the lookout for major new hires. Back in July, 343 Industries confirmed that it was the team to lead Xbox's famous franchise into the future, and now it's hiring for a creative director to help make that future a reality.
As seen on LinkedIn, 343 is advertising for a new creative director to "shape the next generation of experiences in our iconic sci-fi universe". The original post was actually listed a couple of weeks ago, with the team reposting it late last night. 343 is clearly keen to fill the role, then, and have this new creative director put their stamp on Halo ASAP.
Here's a chunk of the job listing's description:
"We are looking for a talented Creative Director to help articulate and bring to life our creative vision across the broader studio. Reporting to our Head of Studio, this role will ground our internal and external teams with clear, compelling goals for our gameplay experiences. This includes initial product vision, overall tone and feel, story and world creation, product differentiators, and high-level gameplay experiences.
In close partnership with our art, design, and franchise leaders, you will be responsible for developing and communicating how we create and execute memorable worlds, characters, and stories at a high level of quality and fidelity across our games."
With Halo Infinite fast approaching its three-year anniversary, it's good to see development on the next Halo game start to kick into gear. However, with hires like this one still yet to be filled, we get the feeling we may be waiting quite a while to play the next mainline Halo title.
One game that we could be playing earlier is a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, if reports are to be believed. Back in June, we heard that Microsoft was spinning up a new remake of the original Halo, with a PS5 version also potentially in their plans. Only time will tell where this famous franchise heads next, but we'll be there for it nonetheless.
