The game is not terrible by any metric(nor it is perfect for that matter). However, it's abundantly clear that the only terrible thing is to apparently not hate on Starfield at every opportunity.....

I wasn't even aware of this feature, but let me check it out and get outraged afterwards 😅...

You'll be safe from crushing for at least decade or so, since we cannot/shouldn't say never, ever 😉. But in the end it's just entertainment, at least that's how I see it.

Even with the caveat of not having the full picture regarding actual concurrent players, (etc) these are some seriously impressive numbers.
Add the impending PS5 release which should grow it further and it's safe to say that Rare have done good 👍.

So far:
P5R, Steel Rising, The Ascent Cyber Edition, Saints Row(😁) and Chants of Sennaar. I'll do another browse tonight if I have the time.

I'd say it's still a challenging enough game

It's challenging enough all right 🙂. Having played the DS trilogy ( just keep falling out with Elden ring for some reason) I belive Sekiro to be the hardest, since you can't do co-op or over-level and the combat is pure split-second parrying perfection. It has some of the Tenchu dna fused with fantastic FromSoftware systems. Great, memorable and challenging bosses, it also has sublime traversal.
Sekiro will always be in the top two greatest games I've ever played. (please buy it😉)

Some people don't seem to realise just how endangered these species are😉...

Unsurprisingly there's a lot of COD on the list, but for the absolute heroes that still buy Sekiro, the greatest game FromSoftware ever made, I shall graciously take my hat off 🙂.

For someone like me who loved the first game, definitely.

With that said, it's clear ( just like the first one) that is not a game that will be universally liked and that's absolutely fine, people enjoy different things 😉. On the graphics front it's way above everything I've seen this gen so far, so there's that😁.

Sweeet! And kudos to Bethesda for doing this at no extra cost 👏.

I would go much bolder with the pricing here, say £299. The main reason is to have a real differentiating factor since (assuming this thing is/will be a real sku) it doesn’t seem to offer the modular approach the PS5 slim provide.(as far as we can see from the images)

That reads terrifying, but at least Sony and PlayStation owners don't have to contend with the thought of major game maker(s) not supporting the platform...

You know, I also see myself as an ardent Xbox fan (with a huge digital library) and just don't see the drama. But for the laughs, I would like to see the reactions here if Phili Spencer would make a statement, saying:
-After careful consideration we decided to make all future ABK, BethSoft etc fully exclusive including COD, even with the caveat of paying enormous sums to get out of our contractual clauses. The end.
What do you think the reactions would be? We have to remember Microsoft has already stated their desire to bring more games to more people, during the ABK takeover.

Speaking of exclusives, why has there been plenty of negative stories on this site lately but still nothing about Final Fantasy 16 looking more likely to come to Xbox

I think an educated guess would be that such an article would garner 20 comments tops. Whereas this article will very likely push past 100 just like the one from yesterday concerning the major game maker questions Xbox support amidst falling sales 😉.

It doesn’t mean everyone’s going to agree with every decision we make. But it is fundamental for how we make decisions

Let's hope Bethesda doesn't just follow the Skyrim template and actually starts looking at the likes of CDPR and TW games. Open world fantasy games have come some ways since the last ES.

I hope this is true and Microsoft release a handheld. As a native GamePass handheld machine it would be an automatic purchase for me, with the gigantic caveat that it gives a wide berth to the PSportal as inspiration....please look at Valve.

It's definitely upsetting to see Microsoft being anti-consumer rather than act (as per expectations),
generous and charitable, but I think I'll live with the changes 😄.....

Why would they start with Capcom when when both Microsoft and Sony first party outings are just as guilty of the practice? And this before we even consider EA, Ubisoft, Take-Two etc, etc.

For what is worth, I think the best way is to not touch their mtx with a barge pole and just play the game, which is brilliant by the way.

Interesting change, the Friday drama has usually been reserved for the Series S bashing...😅.
It sucks Capcom has done this, but this in no way will affect my enjoyment of the game. And that is because I won't be giving them a penny for the MTX.

Great work with the review, thank you. As a big fan of the first game, and seeing how this sequel improves on it in every way I'm buying it regardless of some frame rate issues. Seeing the atrocious state Hexworks released Lords of the Fallen in, Capcom did a great/fantastic job with DD2.

This can only be the revised Series X model. Let's see how Microsoft will approach the ability to play our disc based games (of this, is as rumoured all digital).

I totally understand how you feel hombre, and I'm sure you're not the only one with that view.

It's starting to make sense why Sarah Bond mentioned the next gen Xbox console. Microsoft will have no choice but to start drip feeding information towards the end of the year to counter all the PS5 pro media hype/discourse, and of course reassure the Xbox community. Just my opinion, interesting times ahead for sure 🙂.

I don't think it will bother Microsoft in particular, but you can absolutely bet that having the likes of COD, next Doom, or whatever other Microsoft first party games they'll port to PlayStation and having them run/look best on Sony’s platform is not going to boost Xbox hardware sales 😉.(before we even consider third-party games)

A tough spot for sure, ( with potential consequences, no doubt), I'm eager to see how Microsoft approaches it....

I have to agree with uncle Jim here, he's clearly a tough negotiator. I mean not only did he get COD for a decade, but he also managed to squeeze in other Microsoft IP'S(entirely unrelated to ABK)that frankly few of us envisaged. Kudos 😄.

This is great. Rare deserve success (hopefully it will be similar for Obsidian and Tango Gameworks) regardless of platforms, especially after the years of Kinect only output when people were making fun of them.

It looks fantastic. In some ways it reminds me of Okami and its folklore inspired themes. Definitely want to play this.
