Tis a great game, and having a remastered version would be enough to tempt me back for another playthrough.
Really cannot wait until Darksiders 4 comes out. I have the Collector's Editions for Darksiders 2 (a mask), Darksiders 3 (a model) and Darksiders Genesis (a model), so I'm really hoping that there will be another CE to obtain when 4 comes out. Definitely a day one buy for me...
Okay, not a word of a lie, I have always wanted this to happen! So good to hear.
Darksiders 2 came out 12 years ago?!!
I could not stand Darksiders 1, but Darksiders 2 was really really good.
Uh.... no 60fps? Houston we've got a problem!
Yes, please. That gives me a good reason to finish this game again and listen to Death's voice.
@Fiendish-Beaver I loved Darksiders 1 but found number 2 to be a real slog due to the gaming rule of three applying to every aspect of the game. Also I don't think the loot system really added anything that the original was missing. And the less said about 3 the better.
Really hope 4 is worth the wait
This is the ABSOLUTE and PROPER way to take care of your customers by giving existing owners the upgrade your free. Not double (or triple) dipping your customers like many scummy, greedy developers do.
As a customer, I will forever remember this free upgrade and use that to make future decisions on purchasing from the developer. It is truly a win-win.
I entirely agree with your assessment, @Ilyn. They have become slightly worse with each passing game, but they are all still very enjoyable. I really liked Geneses too, but then I like that style of gameplay. I really liked Strife, and am hoping that he plays much the same in 4, and is voiced by the same actor...
Love the art style of Darksiders 1& 2 and even Genesis, but not a big fan of 3. I'll have to get back to Darksiders 2 to get all the achievements and this free upgrade is a good a reason as any. Well done THQ .
Unpopular opinion - I hope Darksiders 3 is next! 😁 I really enjoyed that game
I got really bored with this game, yet I've played Darksiders 1 about five or six times since its been out. I'm really glad they're sticking with the series and giving it love, it deserves to thrive, even with my own mixed feelings on 2.
Sweet. Got it stored in the ever growing backlog and now it's getting a free upgrade. Result.
Good news from one of my all time fave game franchises!
Why not 1 ????

Seems that they might've jumped the gun on calling the previous version "Deathinitive", then. Is this one even more deathinitiver?
Great game(s), but I hope they finally fix the glitches this time. DS2 easily crashes (at least on PC) if you try to shoot a certain DLC boss while it's flying, and this reportedly carried over from the original release. DS1 also had smaller bugs that persisted in its remaster, like a treasure chest that couldn't be opened.
Great free upgrade, glad to see more of this for Series X|S over time.
