Well it makes sense more people would buy the game on Playstation as they are forced to buy it on Playstation while it's free for online subscribers on Xbox.
For me it was always the fantastic industry leading backwards compatibility and how great of an upgrade console the One X was for it's time, especially given the way it introduced enhancements for older games. That and I always greatly preferred the Xbox One controller over the PS4 controller.
I think the 360 aged spectacularly well. Games still look good, far better than PS1/2 these days, and it's 1080p output can still look great on a modern 4K display. That and everything besides the launch consoles has HDMI support. It's crazy how current it can still feel for something nearly 20 years old.
@Dalamar73 How am I trolling? I would advise you to learn how to cope with contrary opinions. They're just video games. People should be free to express their opinions on them. It's fine if you're a fan of whatever you like, but don't expect everyone to side with you. It shouldn't be considered some sort of offense to simply express discontent. These comment sections aren't supposed to be an echo chamber. The entire purpose of them is to allow the public to express their opinion on the article's subject matter. Who says they must contribute to your preferred discussion within it as you see fit?
This is one of the main reasons I want to stick with the previous release. It seems like it's capable of actually running on it's own, while 24 is basically entirely dependent upon it's online services.
That and I don't have the best internet service as it is, in fact I'd say it's very mediocre at best, so I never liked the concept of having to stream something this sophisticated.
Oh wow, another PJ review I highly disagree with. I thought this game was incredibly overrated and overhyped back when it first released and I bought it just because it was so hyped. When I played the game again on my PS5 with the director's cut upgrade I was like "yeah, this is the same awful game only slightly better graphics." I mean I guess some people love it apparently, and good for them, but it's totally not for everyone.
@burntends I was very impressed by how good a lot of games ran and looked on my Series S. Lots of FPS boost support as well. Only thing it's missing is X enhancement support and there's a few FPS boost games that will only run enhanced on a Series X, but outside of that it's quite impressive. Very cool for a smaller, cheaper, lower power console that I got setup with an attached flip-lid monitor. Out of all the XS games I played only a few seemed to struggle on the S, and even then it wasn't bad.
@Blofse Been the same way for me really and I blame the general feel of this entry. Past Forza titles were the type of thing I could play forever because they just had so much depth to them as someone who enjoys building and tuning my ideal versions of cars. With this latest entry it's like so much of the experience has been compromised around making it an online focused live services experience, and if you're not into that it's just lacks anything to do really besides doing hot laps with cars. I mean for me the solo career was over rather quickly and then it's just the occasional monthly special series that feels more like a chore for me than something I want to do. Then I'll play something like World of Outlaws Dirt Racing 24 and be reminded of what a real racing career should feel like.
It's like they got it all wrong with this latest Forza Motorsport. Pre-race practice feels mostly pointless, there is still no real qualifying, and you have nothing to do with the majority of the cars you can acquire, like there is no championship series or anything outside of what you can setup as a free-race. Even take GT7 for example, there's loads of races and series for all kinds of cars, some simulating longer endurance racing with pit stops, something that Forza completely failed to capture.
@Savage_Joe Yeah there is a lot of really weird stuff going on with this game. You can tell they have been working overtime trying to manipulate the public and their feedback when it comes to this game. It's all so odd for a video game.
Sorry but this obvious butt kissy tweet isn't going to win me over. This new entry lacks what was good about the old ones. The Mass Effect Andromeda of Dragon Age games.
The last COD I bought had a lot of praise and I thought it was awful. I'll wait for Gamepass and even then doubt I will be able to justify the download.
@ZYDIO Yeah, I have heavily lost interest in keeping up with the latest in gaming this gen. Most AAA games just feel like cash grabs or fail to catch my interest, the industry just keeps trying to make everything more dependent upon online services and fees, advancements to graphics and technology are no longer impressing me, I could go on. It's just not the scene it was when I was getting into it back in the 90's and 00's. Seems like a lot of the passion is gone and there is just too much BS getting in the way of being able to simply play a video game and enjoy myself. I honestly feel like this is the last console gen I really want to be a part of. Will probably just build a good gaming PC eventually when I am ready to move on from today's consoles. Heck neither Xbox nor Sony have much in the way of truly exclusive games that really grab my interest anymore anyways.
I have already taken my old Xbox One's offline and recently took a Series S with an xScreen offline as well. Loaded them up with my digital library of games so I can just play whatever without having to worry about any online services or nonsense. When they took down the 360 marketplace this year it got me to get back into that console and I found it amazing not only how well the games have aged but how much more fun they can be compared to today's games.
@kuu_nousee They do the same thing with mobile games. Like "pay $4 to play this game without ads for a month." It sucks to see such tactics being used in full console releases.
I was pretty underwhelmed by this game to be honest, flesh damage system was just a gimmick that I stopped noticing or caring about after a few hours and the way zombies just keep respawning sort of ruined the feel of making your way through areas for me. That and it's sort of a fake open world, you basically just have different areas that you need to progress through in a rather linear fashion.
Now THIS is a special edition that I really like! So much cooler than the others so far. Then again it's pointless because this is just yet another one-off prize console like all the other actually cool looking special editions. Lame!
Personally I am not a fan of white consoles, they rarely seem to age well, yellowing over time seems to be all too common. It's partly why I went out and bought a black 1TB Series S while I still could pick one up new, I wanted to get the xScreen attachment and have an all-in-one travel Xbox and I think it just looks so much cleaner all black.
Well I guess they're finally making this more like the game it should have always been. What a mess it's been though, terrible launch and I am still not a fan of the always-online requirement. Yeah you can technically play it offline but in doing so you are basically playing a bare basics demo version of the game without any of the cars you bought and customized.
@Banjo- It's funny how they removed one of my comments, especially considering how I usually try to be mature and respecting but honest. I guess they really don't like me being critical of Hookshot and IGN around here.
But yeah, PJ has often been one of the critics here at Hookshot sites that I find myself usually disagreeing with. I mean that's just life, you won't always view things the same way as others, but I think it's wise to take note of people you often have polarizing views with so you know to not take them as an authority on how to view things. That's just the nature of media though, there is no true correct or wrong opinion.
@Dman10 Well honestly the critics are a joke these days for the most part. Too many of them have clear biases and agendas. I struggle to relate to most of them.
@Syndrome Pretty big difference in PJ's score vs the user score here as well. Honestly I usually find his reviews to be very polarizing at the least, he seems to be overly critical of a lot of Xbox related stuff for someone who writes for this site.

@Kieduss Same. When I saw this my thoughts were the Jeremy Clarkson "Oh no! Anyways..."
