Update []: It's been confirmed today that F1 25 will indeed release on May 30th.
We also know for sure that there won't be an Xbox One version of F1 25, which marks the first time the series will be exclusive to current-gen systems such as the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Here are some of the first details that have been revealed about this year's game:
This Story is Yours: Leave your mark on the world of racing in F1® 25, the official video game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship™, featuring a revamped My Team mode and the thrilling third chapter of Braking Point.
● My Team 2.0: Create your own F1® stories as you take control as the Owner of a Formula 1® team. The new Owner Perks system allow you to specialize in your preferred areas of team Management, then get behind the wheel of either of your two F1® drivers on race weekends.
● Braking Point 3: The legacy of Konnersport is at stake as a dramatic event throws the team into chaos. Can you fight back and finally put yourself in contention for the World Championship?
Come back in April for a full Deep Dive into all of the Gameplay enhancements that will let you tell your own story in F1® 25.

That's a generous play time for a trial.
I'm a Formula 1, have been for just over a decade now, and used to love the new grand every year. The last 5 or so have just felt so repetitive and the lack of proper innovation has been disappointing. We've gone from new bonus and alternate tracks, as well as classic cars, to the F1 Life rubbish they keep pushing, and a story mode which feels so out of place and boring to me. Would be nice to see something to make me want to play the game but, this is unlikely to happen, especially as Codies is now owned by EA (they would've been a great fit for Xbox!) and I'll probably wait until it hits Game Pass about 10 months from now, especially as you should have significant changes to the 2026 game, given the IRL regulations.
@Daniel1221 Yeah having a story mode is something EA was big on with the last GRID game and it does feel out of place for a racing game, especially when they try to take it seriously. I remember when they were doing story stuff for NFS games like Most Wanted and it worked because it all felt so cheesy and goofy it was entertaining just for that. That and I think they are just trying to make the F1 games more like the 2K sports titles in the way they have these story driven career modes.
I like the naff story on GRID. Good racer.
I’ve only just got F124 cheap so wouldn’t bother with 25 until 26 is nearly out.
Sports games get stale every year. Surely in the digital age it would make sense to simply update the same game with a patch for a small fee? They want your £70 though for the same game…
