It feels like there are constantly new Xbox controllers hitting the market these days, but a lot of them unfortunately aren't wireless, and we're always particularly intrigued when we start seeing features like Hall Effect sticks and triggers.
So, let's take a look at the new Nacon Revolution X Unlimited controller! This was actually unveiled last year, but pre-orders have begun exclusively via Nacon's website today at a pretty eye-watering price of £179.90 / $199.90.
For your money, you're getting a wireless Xbox controller with all sorts of features - an LCD screen providing game information along with the ability to configure audio and gameplay, Hall Effect technology in both the sticks and triggers, a rechargeable battery offering a minimum of ten hours per-charge, and a whole lot more.
- Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Windows devices and android based devices
- 3 connection types: radio frequency, wired and/or Bluetooth
- Rechargeable battery offering a minimum of ten hours' autonomy
- Hall Effect technology in joysticks and triggers
- Integrated LCD screen for easy and intuitive programming and audio source mixing
- Trigger blockers, D-pad and action buttons equipped with Omron® micro-switches.
- 6 programmable shortcut buttons
- Ergonomic customization: six additional weights, six joystick heads, two joystick rings and two directional crosses included
- PC and Shooter Pro Mode with exclusive features
As mentioned in the headline, Nacon is advertising this Revolution X Unlimited controller as the "ideal choice" not only for FPS fans, but also for third-person shooter fans. And, as highlighted in that last bullet point, the controller does indeed support a "Shooter Pro Mode" that apparently allows you to "completely eliminate the joystick deadzone for greater reactivity, precision and performance in shooting games".
Here's a bit more on why Nacon considers the Revolution X Unlimited such a good controller for FPS fans:
"NACON has specialized in the design of premium official accessories for nearly 10 years and developed the Revolution X Unlimited in collaboration with the Designed for Xbox team. It's the ideal choice for FPS/TPS gamers, thanks to its unique blend of customization options and features that guarantee durability and precision. To achieve these aims, the team integrated Hall effect technology, which reduces the risk of stick drift and extends the controller's lifespan. The controller also boasts trigger blockers, which make it adaptable to different types of games, and a battery that allows for sessions of over 10 hours on a single charge."
If you're interested, we'll throw a link to Nacon's official website down below where you can check out even more details on the controller (and obviously, you can pre-order it if you wish). It's release date is set for April 30th, 2025.
We've got some press images below as well, while the trailer is at the top of the article. Enjoy!

That LCD screen will do wonders for the battery life.
For that price no thanks I'm grand with the normal controller
Apart from Hall Effect Thumbstick and trigger modules, I don't think this would be worth upgrading from my V2 Elite and that has a significantly higher (40hrs+) Rechargeable battery too.
10hrs would likely mean I'd have to put my controller on to Charge after every Gaming session. I hate running out of charge as it ALWAYS happens mid-way through an online Co-op Boss Fight, MP match etc where the game doesn't pause.
Its been a while since I spent 10hrs+ in a day Gaming, so this maybe would be OK. Its better than the DS5 Battery Life - and I've had some gaming sessions cut short because of DS5 battery life. I don't like the Dish style D-Pad, I prefer the Cross...
£180 is too much. 10hrs isn't enough.
I'm waiting for a wireless controller, hall effect sticks and a couple of programmable back buttons - £130. Is this a pipe dream?
Putting a screen on a controller always seems like a bad idea, especially if it's wireless. That and does this wireless tech even work natively with Xbox like the standard controllers?
Honestly I would much rather just buy a design labs Elite controller and call it a day if I'm going to spend this kind of money. If I really want some pro gamer spec controller I would just buy one of those custom controllers where they modify a standard official controller, lots of companies do that now.
...And I thought the standard controller was already expensive...
Still waiting for them to do the Elite 3. Just hope it get’s lot’s of love in the quality control department. That alone is really all it needs. But the standard Xbox controller stands as my favorite controller and i own all 3 consoles. I buy all my games on Xbox cause of the controller. This one tho does nothing for me and i don’t even need to hold it to know that.
I loved the addition of a screen on the old Dreamcast controllers. They were amazing (simply being able to look down to see your health in a Resident Evil game felt next level - as did the Tamagotchi-like Chao feature).
I wish 8bitdo or someone would make an affordable budget wireless one. I’ve been using a wired 8bitdo ever since my Xbox one controller started drifting
That screen on the controller is really interesting and weird. Seriously looks like a cool Xbox controller tho but it’s very expensive!
If I even glimpse at the screen of the controller, heretics in warhammer 40.000 universe would murder me in an instant.
So... No! Thank you.
Nacon PS controller is terrible look and feel..
this one looks the same NO WAY category.
Does this require a dongle?
