Well, it's been a couple of weeks now since Sniper Elite: Resistance made its day one arrival on Xbox Game Pass alongside a whole bunch of other exciting brand-new releases, so we're keen to see what you think of it!
You already know what we think - the Pure Xbox review of Sniper Elite: Resistance gave the game a "Great" 8/10 and praised it as "quite simply more of the series at its very best". However, our reviewer also acknowledged that the game can feel "over-familiar" in some ways, particularly in terms of its setting.
"Sniper Elite: Resistance is a super solid return to slo-mo sniping duties. It may lack the overall wow-factor and technical upgrades of its predecessor, and it treads a lot of very familiar ground, but this new entry has still got it where it matters most."
The critics' reviews have pretty much fallen in line with ours here at Pure Xbox, although the Metacritic sits slightly lower at 73 for Xbox. Interestingly, the game only has a "Mixed" rating on Steam as well.

Personally I think it's good. It's not revolutionary, sheerly based on the fact that it looks dated, and feels like an extension rather than an improvement to the series. The voice actor irritated the life out of me - like a jolly mix up of Jason Statham and Cpt Price.
That said, it's Sniper Elite. You don't play this for the story nor much else. It's the gameplay that makes this stand out. I'd just loved for there to have been more innovation.
Who needs innovation when shooting Nazis through the eye socket is this satisfying?
I gave it 7. It's more of the same which is good because it's still fun to shoot digital nazi nuts.
I do hope they are least move to a new location in the next one the Pacific might be interesting. If they want to continue the resistance theme somewhere like Norway would also interesting contrast with a snowy environment.
As a standalone expansion/psudo sequel thing, I give it a 9.

The movement is always stuttery and a little buggy. Gets me in some annoying predicaments. But Ive always loved the gameplay of every SE.
I was disappointed in it. Loved all the past games in the franchise but this one felt like the weakest. It's the only one I don't care about owning, after playing through it on Gamepass I was glad to be past it.
I'm a bit behind the curve here - I only just started SE4 the other day. I do love a good stealth game, and I've spent hours on the first stage just camped out picking off enemies that have no idea who's taking them out one-by-one.
More of the same ...solid 7....Sniper elite 5 was the first one I really got into and got all the achievements...and made me go and buy 3 and 4...so I'm kinda burnt out abit now...completed resistance though ...decent enough ...more buggy than the others...had several instances of invisible walls or not being able to climb off a ladder ..none of which I ever got in 5 which I played on release
