Remember November of 2004? Xbox was celebrating its third anniversary, Halo 2 was just about to blow us all away, and a game called RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 was preparing to release for PC - ultimately proving very successful.
It's been 21 years, but finally, we're about to see this game on Xbox for the first time! RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition will be heading to Xbox One, Series X and Series S on March 20th, as well as PS4 and PS5.
This is the same version that was released for Nintendo Switch a few years ago, and our friends at Nintendo Life gave it a "Great" 8/10 score back then, describing it as a "ride fans should absolutely consider jumping aboard".
"Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition brings the classic theme park building sim and all of its DLC to Switch in a generously priced package that's hard to knock."
Of course, a big question here is whether RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 will support mouse and keyboard on Xbox, and unfortunately we don't have the answer to that as of yet. We're hopeful, but it remains to be seen for now.
The pricing is good at least - pre-orders are available on the Xbox Store for just £19.99 / $23.99, so if you fancy giving into some nostalgia, it won't break the bank. There's a lot of competition nowadays though - Planet Coaster, Planet Coaster 2, Park Beyond, Parkitect - we're doing pretty well for theme park sims on Xbox in recent years!
"Control park finances, shops, services and staff to succeed in dozens of scenarios. Become a true tycoon and embark on your promising new career, or create your ideal park without money woes in sandbox mode. Satisfy your guests’ needs and keep your park running smoothly to succeed.
This complete edition includes all content from both Soaked! and Wild! expansion packs. Relish the added challenge of creating and managing exhilarating waterparks and spectacular animal habitats."

I hope Theme Park and Theme Hospital follow suit.
Last time I played RCT was the first release back in 1999 when I had a PC and I loved it. I'll definitely put this on my to play list.
@Kaloudz Oh man, give me the whole Bullfrog/Peter Molyneux collection please
@Jenkinss Is that the creator?
This looks great, would also love to play Theme Hospital on Xbox. I bought it on GOG last year and had a blast playing it.
Nice, but would rather have RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 collection that just released for the Switch
@Kaloudz Yeah Peter Molyneux was the founder of Bullfrog, they made Populous, Syndicate, Magic Carpet, Theme Park, Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, probably some others I'm forgetting. He was lead designer on a bunch of them (not Theme Hospital) and left to found Lionhead where he was designer or lead designer on Black and White1&2 and Fable 1-3.
@Kaloudz There's always Two Point Hospital which is the spiritual successor to Theme Hospital created by the same guys.
This is still arguably the best theme park game.
@Jenkinss Ah thanks dude. I only knew of the two Theme Game games, had no clue of any others. Ah man, Lionhead! What could have Fable Legends been eh?
@Tasuki Thanks man. I'll try looking into it, but most of the modern day games that have the same sort of gameplay are super deep and hard to follow. I much prefer simpler times lol.
@TheIronChimp Oh right, I'm going to take a look at that too 👍
But can I still drop the mascots in the lake, that's the question.
Fair to see them come to PS/Xbox, last time an RCT game was on Xbox was OG so good to see it come back here.
Thing is yeah I got the Classic 1 & 2 on Switch and skipped the 3 and Adventures (I know is terrible) discounts.
I think Classic and 3 should go to PS/Xbox they are great.
I'm not big on the UI for classic and some presentation like park order is odd but I guess it makes sense. Quality of life is fair, challenge is fair.
I own 3 on PC as well as 1 & 2 with a few expansions but yeah on console is nice to see.
Enjoyed Theme Hospital, wasn't big into Two Point Campus and I assume Two Point Hospital might be the same, fair expanded ideas, but progression change that while makes sense I also don't like some aspects of compared to Theme Hospital which I prefer.
A bit of a shame but this port is much better than RCT2’s.
