Indiana Jones coming to PS5. Knew it. At this point, why bother…
It’s a C for me I guess.
E and barely.
Wilds saved it. Way too much mobile/f2p live device stuff
Terrible. Makes me wonder if I’m losing interest in video games 😂
Indy being a 3ish month exclusive is the death of Xbox even faster than I anticipated honestly, so F just for that horrific reveal.
Don't exaggerate, @Jenkinss. Spring begins in March, so it's 4 months... 🤣
@ZeD Based on what we saw tonight, I have to agree with you there. I had it on the background and it's just murky dark game one after another with a couple of colourful games in between.
Turned it off before Indiana Jones came on but I'm just not fussed about that one.
Fortunately gaming is more than what's on Geoff TV. There's still a few games coming out in the next year which I'm looking forward to but otherwise I'm very much disinterested at the moment. Xbox really isn't helping matters.
I didn’t even know it was on 😂 I’ll catch some trailers on YouTube but from what I’m reading here it was dire.
@ParsnipHero I’m finding myself diving into older games again. Simpler times.
There are very few games I am looking forward to atm.
Outlaws has my interest because I’m a sucker for a space/ cowboy adventure. 😂
Terrible show and the state of gaming in 2024, what a shocker.
@anoyonmus
Classic Xbox move.
Could of shifted a few consoles this holiday.
One step forward, 2 steps back.
Unless the next Xbox is unbelievably special with some special exclusive games we could be looking at the beginning of the end.
I'm waiting to see how it all pans out before I decide on my next console. I'll enjoy what I have in the meantime.
@Nic-Noc20th-C I was thinking about this today. Unless the next PlayStation or Xbox are amazing, I will not be moving from my current consoles.
Overall it was pretty dire. The inability to even read an autocue was just embarrassing from start to finish.
The crowd appeared to be from Madame Tussauds. It was excruciating.
So many games just looked the same. What happened to creativity? It was an absolute yawn fest.
Indy looks amazing though and can’t wait to play that although obviously disappointed it’s going to PS5 and so soon as well.
Awful. So many bad games and a ton of useless trailers instead of gameplay.
And Dune had the most gameplay….but looked like an abomination.
No wonder gaming is getting worse.
B. I thought it was decent. Civ 7 looks incredible. It just took over the top spot for my most anticipated game.
Pretty decent from my perspective. Haven't played a COD game in years but it looks fun, MH looks great and Indi was the highlight for me.
Plenty to play 🙂
@anoyonmus I'll never understand why anyone cares about exclusivity. Does it harm us that it's also going to be on Playstation? We need less exclusive games on all platforms, not more.
The gigantic climate change segment in the middle, sponsored by Tencent of all people, was very, very cringe. Don't get me wrong, I'm no climate change denier, but there's a time and a place.
Pretty terrible. Reanimal and Indie being announced for my 40th birthday were the only exciting parts for me.
@Tyrant_T103 Exclusives exist because to sell consoles. That is why exclusives exist and that is also why consoles exist.
Why do you think PlayStation and Nintendo outsold Xbox this generation? Exclusive and good games is one reason. That is why they sold a crazy amount of consoles. If you have good exclusives, people will pick up your console. That's why PS4, Switch, and ig PS5 sold a lot of units compared to Xbox consoles.
"Does it harm us that it's also going to be on PlayStation"
Unless you own a PS5, then you benefit from this. If you do not, then it actually does harm you because what is the point of having an Xbox? Don't bring the Game Pass argument because Sea of Thieves and other Xbox games sold incredibly well on PS5 despite the lack of Game Pass. PlayStation users will most likely not mind paying 70 dollars for a good game. If more Xbox games come to PlayStation, then there is no point in buying a Xbox console. There is no reason to buy an Xbox. If you mention Game Pass, you can also get it on PC too. PC exists as well.
And PlayStation ain't bringing any of their heavy hitter games to Xbox.
Civ VII kept it out of being an F, but shortly after its reveal I decided I'd seen enough and stopped watching; didn't stay long enough to watch the Indiana Jones feature but I may check it out down the line.
So why did I give the overall show an E rating??
There are only so many ways to depict and carry out brutal, gory violence onscreen, and with such games front-and-center for presentations since way back in the E3 days, it's no wonder why countless "AAA" titles look, feel, and play like stuff we've seen before many times over. None of the other stuff appealed to me, either, for various reasons.
I'm pretty happy with what was announced except for genshin being a next-gen only game but i'll get over it.
@anoyonmus Exclusives are a lame way to sell consoles. It should be about having the best user experience and hardware. These days, they're starting to learn this which is why we're seeing a ton of PS exclusives on PC now.
D. Nothing really interesting, aside from Wilds.
Also feels like Floatopia is trying to be a cozy game designed by marketing and metrics. It really just feels like a rote checklist of what a cozy game is supposed to be, in that cold sterile kind of way.
TBH, only life sim I want right now is Fantasy Life i, but that's because it's Level 5. Yes, I realize I'm on the Xbox news site right now. That's how little was worth it today.
Also feel like Sjokz did all the hosting, but Geoff got all the credit. He was only on stage for less than 20 minutes total, but got an animated short dedicated to him for a game that he's otherwise unrelated to? Really comes off wrong for me.
There was a lot of crap in there, from my point of view, but some highlights piqued my interest. Anything related to Little Nightmares, Borderlands 4 (still love looter shooters), the Starfield update and a peek at Indy worked for me.
I've not felt any genuine excitement for a game at any of these recent shows. So many games looks the same, use the same Valorant/Overwatch generic character style etc. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting too old! 😂
D for me. Lost Records and Indy were the only games I was interested in. Much like 2024, it made me feel like I might not buy many games in comparison to previous years again.
