Just waiting for these new Series consoles to release on PS5 with Indiana Jones this Spring. XD
@Kezelpaso Its Three buddy
There not really new consoles but variations of current consoles
They can't sell the ones they already have out.
The only important thing is if these are those updated controllers mentioned previously.
The revision that includes a gyro, haptics, and new stick designs.
It's a hard sell at $599...
The digital series X is way way overpriced!
@Ricky-Spanish i dont think so. its the one im getting
£550 is brave even with the bigger storage.
@UBERSICKO Thank u. It's busy right now 😅
No thanks, I’ll keep my Halo edition Series X as my last Xbox ever.
I have been mulling the idea of getting a 2nd S. I hope they have some stock clearing sales on the old model. My niece and nephew are the justification I am using but my laziness of taking the xscreen off and on is definitely a consideration.
@BigRedPaper Fair dues to you they are ripping you off you can get a new normal series X for that with a disc drive!
If I bought a second Series X, it would be the Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition, but I'm still waiting for those new controllers, the leaked Sebile controller and the unannounced Elite Series 3.
Pre-order an Xbox so you can beta test games before they go to PlayStation
@Markatron84 Actually they do
With game sizes the way they are 1Tb and 2Tb should have been the base sizes. Even with a disk drive you still need to install the game to the hard drive (plus all the updates not on the disk).
That Galaxy Black is so sexy. I love those starry themes, like the purple galaxy 3DS. There's a starry theme in PS Vita I have in my home, as well.
2tb is a little too steep for me, which is a shame as I love the design.
@Savage_Joe You would think that but no my friend series s sells very well
With more and more Xbox "exclusives" appearing on Sony's and Nintendo's consoles I don't imagine these will sell too well unless they receive a significant price-cut or they're opened up with additional PC functionality, eg: Something I could run my DAW or graphics program on.
Was all in for the 2tb series x a while ago.
But I just can’t invest in Xbox and buying third party games on their console.
When there may not even be a next generation Xbox console.
After all the chat Phil has done today, he could have said something to reassure Xbox fans.
I don’t think they give duck about Xbox consoles else why not mention at gamescom during the interview to help promote Xbox consoles.
we need new controller with mic and speaker like the ps5 controller!
and don't make the d bad annoying like the one we have!
that's sad that I don't play with the official controller from Microsoft because the d bad is so loud! and even the buttons as well!
And I won't forget the Xbox button to!
"...but, but, but MS is abandoning consoles." 😂 So much for that theory?
They are a but pricey, but I'm considering the 2TB one.
@Bobarino If the 2TB was out at $600 the day I bought my Series X I would have spent the extra $100 then. But as a current X owner there is no way I will upgrade without it having additional power.
They’re not even trying with those prices. Such a missed opportunity. And even worse if the PS5 Pro arrives at anything like a competitive price
But the games they sell on disc have a label on the front that says "Xbox Series X" but that game won't play on this white "Xbox Series X".
Their console names are terrible and now confusing and problematic.
They raised prices without technically raising prices, in a way that’s not dissimilar to Apple effectively raising the price of their highest end phone by getting rid of the lowest storage tier.
@Scummbuddy Exactly.
Plus, I hugely suspect that this Galaxy model will be a limited one, perhaps exclusive to the Microsoft store...
And that would mean the official ending of physical games on Xbox.
I know that most of Xbox players have gone full digital nowadays, but I'm among the few who still buy their games on discs (waiting for Alan Wake 2, currently).
Xbox is definitely moving on...
@Bobobiwan You may be right because it's called Special Edition. I think of that model as a legendary system to keep because of its backwards support, like the Wii U. Plus, Xbox is the only console that supports CDs on top of DVDs and BDs. PS4 and PS5 don't. If the next generation doesn't support physical media, I'd like to get the Special Edition. I say this as someone that only buys digital games these days, but have lots of CDs, DVDs and BDs.
@Bobobiwan I basically just buy disc Xbox Series X games. Unless there is a deep sale on something digital or something day one that would typically only be on PS5. But due to how few games release only Series X disc now it's only 2-5 a year at this point.
Sucks to think this is likely the last generation with a disc drive and disc based games for Xbox.
Galaxy edition looks cool but not cool enough to get me to buy a new one, especially considering how I have my Series X behind my TV on the TV stand so I can't even see it most of the time. The version without a disc drive is totally unappealing for me, and I don't see a white Series S as a desirable alternative since I consider the black version much better looking. In fact I somewhat recently picked up a black Series S since I knew they would be going out of production.
@Savage_Joe For me the Xscreen is the most appealing thing about the Series S. It's just a cool relatively compact all-in-one travel solution for a modern game console. The Series X would simply be too big for such a concept to work or really be appealing, and the Xscreen is just so neatly integrated with the Series S, it feels like it was always meant to be there. Very similar to the way the old PS One with the flip lid monitor felt.
That said I wouldn't really see it as something really worthwhile to hook up to a TV when the digital Series X is only $100 more.
@ProNF every single game:
CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK!!!
@Moby Nobody saying that believes it's going to happen tomorrow morning. It's a gradual, slow process they keep alluding to. I think five years from now will look a hell of a lot different. I hope I'm wrong of course, but too much stuff keeps happening rapid fire to think it's all coincidence.
If it walks like a duck, if it sounds like a duck... you get it.
Cant believe how expensive these are! Not gonna see any sales spike with these units unfortunately. I expected better value at this point in the cycle.
Better off buying a cheap second hand one on ebay... Its where my series x is going and I dont imagine it will cost a lot.
So..... the Holiday season sales will be a win for Sony & Nintendo then!
I wish Microsoft would focus their efforts on a Series 3 of the Elite Controller and get the quality control right this time.
@sikthvash Why would it be a win for Sony? What are they doing that's such a great deal or spectacular?
Phil gotta be the worst salesman
@Bobobiwan on the Microsoft US online store for Xbox. They show all three series X consoles next to each other. So it seems they will still produce the OG series X? As why bother to make an updated graphic on the store front. Even so if they made another Xbox I’m not convinced it would have a drive. And for me it would be a no sell.
Yeah but those prices are from the Xbox store, way overpriced. Who the hell buys direct from Xbox? Got my Series X from Amazon for £350. Elsewhere Series S can be bought new for £199.
@gamer5634 the PS5 Pro will probably land at $599.00. I would be shocked if it was any more.
I’m at a loss as to the series x all digital model? Isn’t that going to confuse some folks if no disc drive?? We’ve known all along series S means digital 🤷♂️
Meanwhile I’m going to hold off and pick up my Atari 7800+ first LOL 😆
@JayJ I think it's a combination of things, from the rubbish PR surrounding games on other platforms, increase in costs for GP subscriptions, to the big push to say no more hardware & you can just stream Xbox on any device to this... more physical hardware, building on top of a pre-existing stockpile they can't shift. They shot themselves in the foot with mixed messages about how to play the games you know and love; they completely fudged it. This is why I honestly think the pending holiday season will see more sales from Nintendo & Sony. I'm not saying what Sony are doing is totally right & unique by any means as they have been faltering with daft decisions too, but they are pushing sales and testing the waters with, for the most part, excellent PC ports, albeit long after they've hit the consoles. I loved my Xbox SX from the release, but I feel all the best experiences they offer can be seen on PC & PlayStation, with a smattering on Switch too. It's a difficult one for Microsoft as I think they're likely to double down on subscriptions and digital releases across the board & leave the hardware side to other manufacturers in the hope they corner the market on said subscriptions. I just don't think it's sustainable & they're making a mistake. I, like many others, feel let down by Microsoft and the combination of decisions they've been making. Like many other big corporations, they only care about the bottom line. Maybe they'll still do good with the cross-platform sales, who knows, but right now, the once faithful Xbox hardware will gather dust and I fear the name once synonymous with mighty hardware might become irrelevant (unless they put their hand in their pocket and buy Steam hahahaha)
