Xbox has opened its Tokyo Game Show livestream with a bombshell today - StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection are coming to PC Game Pass later this year.

Yep, announced by Phil Spencer himself as the broadcast kicked off, these two Blizzard classics are finally being made available on the Game Pass service. Unfortunately, there's no news of a console version here - for now we're just talking PC access via the base PC Game Pass service or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

"Greetings, commanders! We’re so excited that Game Pass members will soon be joining us in the Korpulu Sector. While the entirety of the original StarCraft and StarCraft II’s multiplayer components are free-to-play, we’re delighted to say that StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft II: Campaign Collection will be available to anyone with a PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscription from November 5."

This is one franchise that Phil has expressed interest in before, since purchasing ActiBlizz anyway, so we're not that surprised to see it crop up here. We were perhaps hoping for something more for StarCraft, but maybe that's for a later date. We'll certainly take this Game Pass drop for now!

StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection head to the PC Game Pass library on November 5th, 2024.
