As we fast approach the Xbox debut of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle this December, Bethesda has whipped up a cool custom console for fans to try and get their hands on. It's big, it's gold, and it has a leather-effect controller to go with it.
As you probably guessed, this is part of another Xbox sweepstakes competition - and unfortunately you can't buy this thing even if you'd like to. They are getting creative with this particular competition though, with opportunities both in-person and online to try and win one of these console bundles.
Anyway, here's a closer look at the controller and the full bundle:

Right, back to how to win one of these things. Xbox fans can either "visit the Microsoft Experience Centers in London, Sydney, and New York" and "solve the puzzle" — from November 12 through January 6 — or they can wait for "another chance via the Bethesda social channels" at some stage - probably somewhere within the above date range.
Anyway, this is a pretty cool bundle, right - even if the console itself looks like a big shiny block of cheese. It would be cool if fans could go out and buy one of these consoles, but alas, you'll have to chance the Xbox sweepstakes competition if you'd like to whip this into your entertainment centre at home.
Anyone like this particular console? Tell us your thoughts on it down below.

In the words of Goldmember - "I love goooooooold"
It belongs in a museum!
@FraserG how many unfortunate smelting accidents occurred during the making of this?
Don't understand the point in these themed consoles that will never be for sale why? Just for a competition is pointless I bet most people who win them just sell them on after!
@Ricky-Spanish Agreed, I’ve never understood the point of these. It seems like a waste of money for Microsoft and a middle finger to the hardcore collectors that would buy them. They’d probably sell way more hardware if they released these to the public, which you’d think would also increase software/subscription sales.
But what do I know lol
@Altaria_97 @Ricky-Spanish
Completely agree!👍
This is an IP with mass appeal, if this console was released I believe it would sell very well. These contests are about the extent of marketing that Xbox has in the US, pathetic. PlayStation and Nintendo are killing the marketing area. I wish Xbox would step its game up, or at least get in the game.
I kinda like the controller, seen much worse Xbox ones.
The gold console? Not very keen…. Should have made a one off circle one!
@FraserG Man they missed a golden opportunity. They should have had the console on a trap platform and recreated the famous boulder trap scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark and had Phil Spencer. Lol
Im actually glad these aren’t for sale as I would buy every single one. And be broke(r).
Do they ever announce the winner's name? So we can see that someone actually won it.
You have more chance of winning a lottery than you do winning a Microsoft sweepstake.
Throw me the Xbox, I’ll throw you the whip.
They should put it in a crypt or dungeon, so it's harder to get.
**Grabs a PS5 Pro and is instantly ages and turned to dust**
You have chosen poorly.
OOh. I usually like these customised consoles and controllers as they look impressive, but this is the first I'd really want to actually own and play on. Partially as I'm an Indy fan, but it just looks cool and shiny.
Maybe I should see if there's anyone out there who specialises in gold leaf and send my Xbox in
If they actually designed special edition themed consoles for retail, xbox might sell more consoles. Otherwise, this is just pointless.
@Ricky-Spanish It's not that complicated. It's literally just marketing. They get to generate buzz on social media and boost engagement for people who want a chance at it. It also means they can only make a few so it doesn't cost that much. In comparison if they put it up for sale they'd have to realistically charge an arm and a leg to keep the value up (it being one of like 3ish max), but they'd get a lot of hate charging anything more than like $100 over standard price. Maybe $200 max. And the only ones who'd try to buy it would be super duper fans or scalpers and realistically the listing would sell out and go away almost immediately. Making it into a sweepstakes turns it into more of an event. This way even if just five people go to the experience and try the puzzle, they'll also probably post about it on socials and tell their friends. In the sweepstakes in general, according to usual rules people have to repost and share. It's about building positive brand awareness and associating popular IP with Xbox. Which hey, if nothing else these collabs get posts and articles.
@Medic_alert My guy you just described scalping. Microsoft couldn't sell these limited consoles at market value without getting DESTROYED online. That'd be a terrible business move for the longevity of the brand. If Xbox was privately owned by like 3 people who were looking for a get rich quick scheme and planning to sell off the company soon then they might do this. I'm not sure you realize the can of worms actually selling these limited edition collab consoles for what they're worth would be. Especially for a brand that people already love to hate. People are already mad about the $100 more limited edition Series X with twice the storage.
Plus it wouldn't benefit them beyond the quick payday which to a company like Microsoft even 10 people paying $1000+ each on limited edition consoles like this is nothing. Especially when the only people who'd go for it are more scalpers (who don't play games and spend money) and current Xbox fans who already play games and spend money. And a sale would be mostly ignored by the public. Whereas making it a fun experience and puzzle is something people will post about and share if they go in person. And the usual sweepstakes rules always involve reposts (re-tweets or whatever) and sharing so that even people who don't bother because they don't expect to win might all of a sudden see Xbox pop-up on their socials because their friends or friend or a friend does. Consistent buzz is more valuable to the longevity of a brand. And there's no amount of money Microsoft could make on a quick sale (they're like a three trillion dollar company) to sub ten people that would matter for them. Xbox would rather reach just 5 new users through this, sell them a series S on sale, and make consistent money from them overtime.
Ha, imagining Indy taking this from the booby trapped pedestal in Raiders instead of the gold statue...hmm how much sand needed.
They actually should have made this look like a fridge.
@Balaam_ So do you! 😁
Now THIS is a special edition that I really like! So much cooler than the others so far. Then again it's pointless because this is just yet another one-off prize console like all the other actually cool looking special editions. Lame!
