Xbox may as well give up. Indy will now release on PS5 Pro. Xbox has just thrown in the towel but will still make mega money. Looks like Microsoft gaming is the future.
I just wish Xbox would say ‘right, we are going full 3rd party and that’s the end of it.’ I’d rather it wasn’t the case but then we all know where we stand , instead of them constantly allowing leaks and rumours to carry on without addressing them.
As long as there is an Xbox device I will still have it, but it’s getting the stage where I don’t even know if it’s worth them doing that.
Am sure there will be some exciting game news but overall I suspect we will see Xbox games going to PS5 being the biggest topic.
I will remain Team Xbox but do wonder if there is any point with them doing any more hardware. Essentially why would devs make games for a console that doesn’t sell well enough and will potentially have no reason left to buy it?
Just seems like we are treading water as we head toward the inevitable change from Xbox to Microsoft gaming. 😢
So we can buy every game on a PS5 other than Nintendo IP?
What will be the point of owning an Xbox at all?
Really saddens me what Phil Spencer have done. It won’t be long before it’s just Microsoft gaming and Xbox will be a distant memory along with SEGA when it comes to hardware.
Microsoft won’t worry though because they will make mega bucks and without hardware will make very little losses.
Maybe that’s the game they are playing? Because one thing to consider is that this will put more pressure into Sony - if they don’t replace their profit margins, have little competition , then they could be in huge financial trouble whilst Microsoft will be far from in any financial trouble.
So maybe it’s not as black and white as I thought……..
🎮 🎮Xbox #GamePassUltimate Mini Review MAFIA🎮🎮
Fans of #gta5 will love this older title now available on #XboxGamePass As Tommy Angelo, you will join the forces of Don Salieri and look to defeat the opposition.
Set around the last 1920’s and 1930’s USA, you run drinks rackets, cigars and other contraband , all whilst popping a few bullets between the eyes of other ‘hoodlums.’
Visually it’s still looking fine and in some ways the slight ageing fits the game anyway. Voice acting is good and you feel really part of the story.
You will have to make some tough choices between life and death and not always your own.
A decent 8 hours will see through the main campaign and I highly recommend this one for its story, plot line and it’s well worth your time!
Xbox will make another console and handheld PC type device and then just rely on other handheld PC systems with Xbox interfaces in the future. Xbox can create the most powerful console in the world if they want but it still won’t sell. They don’t even market consoles in the UK. I see adverts for Switch and that’s over 7 years old.
Cloud and 3rd party publishing is all Xbox want now.
Shadow Warrior 3. Giving it a play before it leaves Game Pass next week and it’s hilariously bat sh1t crazy!! 😂😂 Love the 80’s/90’s vibes, music as well. It’s not perfect but it’s great fun so this will take up my weekend gaming!
If it’s not native then what’s the point? It won’t do anything we can’t already do? If it is true then Xbox will be making yet another massive cock up
Do we really believe that we will see another Xbox? I know that Bond has said there will be one and potentially a handheld but can we believe them anymore?
I hope there is but I’m far from convinced anymore.
So wouldn’t this just be a streaming device then? If it’s going to play games natively, then fair enough but are we really saying that we will have to spend £450 on a console and then another £300 or so for a handheld. We can already do that anyway with so many handheld devices. If it has a dock that allows play on TV then maybe I would buy just the handheld but this seems yet another odd way for Xbox to go about things.
For Xbox, it is all about the ecosystem now and not hardware. They monthly active users shows that Xbox games still have a huge draw, the huge difference is where people play them. I do think we will still see another Xbox console but fully expect this to be an upgradable PC style model or possibly a high powered handheld hybrid with dock.
I think Xbox will also push to have Steam on the next console whatever form it takes. If they get that done and can bring the new machine in at a competitive price, they can certainly have better hardware sales, but overall, the reality is that hardware just isn’t the priority anymore.
As long as I can still access my back catalogue of games easily and still have some form of Xbox, then I see no reason for me personally to buy another console.
That said, my dream scenario is that Game Pass comes to the Nintendo Switch 2. Now that would be epic!
The only way to play cloud on Xbox that is acceptable is via GeForce now and that’s 20 quid a month. It’s going to get to the stage where it costs 50, 60 quid for a sub.
I played the single player campaign through fairly quickly and it was good fun. It was far too sparse though. Multiplayer is better. Well worth it on Game Pass. Never a 70 quid game though. Never. Let’s hope we start to see the full suite of COD games sooner rather than later.
So @Liam_Doolan I have now been though every game via Xbox.com from the UK they should be playable on GeForce Now. Not ONE game offers the ability to launch with GeForce Now.
I’ve even set VPN to USA and still no different.
The only this way this works is by setting up Nvidia GeForce App and then choosing your game. You can’t even connect your Xbox account.
You have to sign in every time.
Whilst performance is brilliant at times on 4K rig, it’s a real faff and it’s disgraceful that Xbox basically wants you to spend another £20 to get Xcloud to be worth playing.
And performance through GeForce now is often unreliable.
Worth doing a deeper dive into this as it’s certainly not ‘integrated’ at all.
As long as the game is in your library - so if you have it in your library it is mostly fine but o have noticed that performance is very sketchy on certain games. It’s crazy that to get a cloud gaming service that runs as well as Luna and even Stadia did, that we have to pay another £20 a month. Spencer and Xbox are taking the p1ss
@CutchuSlow Basically I have found that if you find a game that you have in your Xbox library and then select that you own the game and instead of clicking - connect now - skip that and it will get you to log in via Microsoft and will then take you to the game.
The performance is way better than Xcloud BUT it is all very fiddly. It certainly doesn’t work from the Xbox store.
I have been playing this. It’s really good. Great fun. Good challenges as well. Cant wait to see how this one grows. Deffo worth a try if , like me, you love Karting games.
@RetroMan71 It’s great to pick up and play and has plenty for everyone. They are working on bringing more games and also updating the user interface.
This is a superb service and games keep coming. The challenges are cool although some are crazy hard, and it’s good value. They are working on improving the service all the time and it’s worth it if you love retro gaming and high score challenges!
Another big hitter that seems to have come out average. Xbox keep on destroying the brand each day right now. Depressing.
Not an Xbox studios game I know but another Game Pass game that looks like its a flop.
This again shows why Xbox are going after a different future. I don’t think that they will stop altogether with hardware, but will make less of it as they know it isn’t doing to sell in hundreds of millions anymore.
I’d like to see the next Xbox be hybrid. Powerful PC type with handheld module that can play games natively . But that would be very costly to the consumer.
The numbers are impressive though. That’s a hell of a lot of players but I guess the question from this is whether all those players are helping with revenue and I guess that could either be a lot or very little at all.
@TheSimulator I thought by now that Xcloud would be so much better than it is. Xbox have never improved it, it’s just not good enough. If this is the way Xbox is going - ie. cloud gaming- they need to up the game considerably or they will lose that battle as well.
Xcloud is nowhere near good enough. On a 55 inch TV, the image is grainy and input lag is not good. With the servers that Microsoft could use, it’s mad that even Stadia was better. Amazon Luna runs better. It’s not acceptable at all and should be fixed.
I’m diving into some more of Stampede. Cracking game and the courses so far are great fun. Graphically reminds me of Splatoon. Got a very Nintendo feel to it and that’s all good! @fraserg
It seems clear to me that Xbox have got themselves in a right muddle over everything right now. A handheld rumoured, a new more powerful than ever console? Sticking a huge finger up at Xbox console Game Pass subscribers. Possibly ending Xbox hardware in Europe. Game Pass subs up in prices and day one releases / the big sellers for Game Pass not available to everyone.
Just what is Xbox today? Does Xbox even know?
From day to day they just lurch from one confusion to another.
Also, the Activison Blizzard deal will take time to come through - yes they can say sales are up based on the companies they have taken over, but they need to make 69 billion just to start breaking even on the deal.
I feel that the heads at Microsoft and those at Xbox have become totally detached. It’s feels like the retina has become detached from the eye and now it’s a case of the blind leading the blind.
This was exactly what I was asking about recently @fraserg Hopefully it’s not true although to be fair, Xbox marketing in the UK is already dead - I can’t recall the last advert I saw on TV in the last few years that was specifically Xbox related.
It’s really sad to see and looks like the beginning of the end of Xbox in Europe regarding consoles. It’s clearly going all cloud based.

I wonder if this could all potentially mean that the next Xbox hardware won’t even be available to buy unless it’s via import.
Time will tell but this does feel like more sad news for UK Xbox gamers.

Let’s just hope that those surprises are not all games going off to PS5!
Am hoping for Steam on Xbox! That would be epic! Do it Xbox!
