Re: Activision Blizzard Reveals Plans For Bringing Games To Xbox Game Pass

MjJmediablogger

I love how when it comes to Xbox, people love to try and put a negative spin on things so quickly!
Of course the likes of MW3 and Diablo IV aren’t coming just yet.
Anyone who thought they were must have some seriously rose tinted glasses on!
There will be a load more games to play.
I never have gotten the hate for Game Pass tbh - It gives me access to a whole world of games and I still think it’s cracking value.

If Game Pass goes then Xbox goes. It would leave very little reason to be involved in the ecosystem sadly.

@FraserG It did that to many although I think the reaction over the email has been frankly hysterical and the idea that Xbox will close down Game Pass by 2027 and leave gaming is a really odd and bizarre viewpoint.
Leaks happen but tbh there wasn’t that much that was surprising more just the sheer scale of it but I don’t see this being the end of Xbox in any way at all.

Re: FTC Denies Involvement In Huge Xbox Leak, Blames Microsoft Instead

@Fiendish-Beaver exactly 💯!! In fact what you have just said is pretty much what I kept saying last night on Twxtter and ended up getting personal abuse over. Yet all I was saying was that a three year old email has been taken as being a defining moment and it is nothing of the sort. But as you say and I agree - telling the facts doesn’t always get the clickety clicks!

@Fiendish-Beaver I ignore Push Square. It’s got more trolls that the Billy Goats Gruff. A few days and all this will die down and we will all keep gaming regardless.

What I am interested in is whether Phil Spencer or Nintendo will comment directly on that email.

I would say that’s the thing that would have potential to do most damage but the other stuff is just standard and none of it a surprise.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Do You Find Time For All These Amazing 2023 Games?

MjJmediablogger

I struggle! I used to game probably 5 to 10 hours a week before I picked up the Logitech G Cloud and now its more like 20 hours a week. When I read and hesr people say that Xbox doesn't have enough games, I think they must have worse vision than Stevie Wonder! There are a crazy amount of games already but as 2023 enters holiday season, the quality keeps on coming at pace.
Keep ‘em coming I say!

The fps doesn’t concern me. Everything zips along just fine. The worlds are huge and I’m only ten hours in. Superb game and it will only get better.
Bethesda have created a fabulous world with loads to explore and loads to learn.
Elite game.
How anyone gave this 7/10 is just bizarre. But it’s all about opinions.
Back to it now!

Re: Microsoft Announces Plan To Sell Activision Cloud Gaming Rights To Ubisoft

MjJmediablogger

Let’s face it. In ten years time game pass will be all Xbox offer and it will be on all consoles and PC. They can’t remain making consoles much longer as they are losing money and the gap to PS is just huge in console sales. Xbox will become a streaming stick and app only soon enough. PS5 sales have just risen by 244% in Europe. Xbox can’t get anywhere close to their numbers but can get game pass on more places to make sure the brand lives on but console wise, it’s clearly not sustainable for much longer.

Re: Talking Point: What Would Convince You To Use Xbox Cloud Gaming More Often?

MjJmediablogger

Since I picked up the Logitech G Cloud, I have played cloud games a lot as well older system EMU’s for offline gaming.
I have found that xCloud runs really well at home and even with a strong 4G signal I have had some great gaming sessions on the go with xCloud attached to my phones hotspot.
I totally understand why it might not be popular for many and not a 1st choice, but when you think that you can potentially have some great gaming experiences for little outlay - if you play via your phone or tablet for example - then for those on smaller budgets it is a great way to game.

However, the fact it is so unpopular is worrying for Microsoft and Xbox when you consider that Cloud is the main aim for them in the long term. They are already way behind in the console arena, so if they are already losing money in the cloud arena, they could be in a bad position with gamers if they don’t sort it out and make it more accessible for more people. In the UK, one huge issue is that broadband and 4G and 5G performance is based on luck and where you live which is not acceptable but that’s an issue for BT who own most of the networks infrastructure via Open Reach.

But for me, I am very happy to play via the cloud when necessary.
