Earlier this week, a sneak peek sale went live for Xbox Game Pass members ahead of Microsoft's big summer promotion, and the wording of these discounts has been the cause for lots of confusion over the last few days.
Basically, when non-Game Pass members check these deals out, the store listings tend to have a "get Game Pass" tag attached to them. Well, plenty of Call of Duty fans spotted these listings and assumed that if you subscribed to Game Pass you'd get access to the COD games in question - rather than access to discounts on them.
Of course, that's not the case for now at least - we're still waiting for Xbox to bring the Call of Duty back catalogue to the Game Pass library.
Once the big summer sale goes live for everyone, these 'get Game Pass' tags should disappear - and all Xbox players will see the proper discounts for these Call of Duty games. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but nope, these tags are not indicating COD on Xbox Game Pass - for now at least!
Having said that, we are still expecting them to come to the service soon. Given that Microsoft seems to be working on new Game Pass tiers and pricing options, we'd expect those to be figured out and in-place before any huge ActiBlizz drops happen. We've had to exercise lots of patience with this, but hopefully, we're not too far away from some big Game Pass additions at this stage.
In the meantime, fans are also spotting that one very old Xbox 360 era Call of Duty 4 DLC is free to keep on Xbox right now and has been for a month or so - here's a link to that if you'd like to add it to your account while it's still free!
