People keep moaning about lack of games or what’s next for Xbox hardware but when they get a plethora of great games shown to them….. yep.. they still moan!!!

Just enjoy the games people! Gaming is about the games. The rest , we have no control over.

I am not sure how anyone can call the showcase a ‘let down’ or a ‘disappointment’.
We constantly hear about there being not enough games or not enough quality and then when we get what was a stunning showcase of quality games, people are still not happy!!

Of course, we all want to know what the future holds for Xbox in terms of hardware and exclusives but to be honest, we cannot control that. We will be told when we are told. It’s pointless worrying about it right now.

Just enjoy the incredible games that are coming to Xbox this year and next!

The rest will look after itself.

It is time that gamers stopped moaning and actually just got on with playing games!!!

Compared to PS remote play and streaming, Xcloud is so poor. It’s like playing AAA games on a Switch

They 100% are going to stop consoles. I suspect the next hardware will just be a streaming device that they will leave open to updates but I don’t think it will be the leap we keep hearing about.

Xbox have totally made a mess of this generation and for all Spencer keeps blaming others, this is about poor marketing from the off and a a total lack of leadership.

Phil Spencer isn’t a leader. Leaders don’t hunker down in bunkers when this stuff is going on. They come out and talk to the rightly concerned fans .

He is clearly not in any form of control and tbh has always been a man full of bluster and nonsense. Reminds me of Boris Johnson. Full of wind and no substance .

She used a lot of words but actually said noting but drivel. The trouble with Xbox now is that no one is going to believe a word that comes out of the mouths of Spencer , Bond and Booty ever again.
All 3 may as well be given the boot - they command crazy salaries so get rid of those - and just get on with calling it Microsoft gaming.

All they are doing now is putting off the inevitable. And each day that goes by , the damage gets worse.

Spencer, Bond snd Booty are being punished for their abysmal mistakes and handling of Xbox this generation. And rightly so.

Matt Booty is talking absolute nonsense. They want smaller games but have closed studios that can do just that.

This is yet another example of Xbox execs just taking the utter p133 out of gamers.

@somnambulance Microsoft gaming, Xbox or Spencer Corps will churn out games like a meat slicer but don’t expect the focus to be on quality. They are now going all in on quick bucks.

They simply do not care any longer.

Today has pretty much ended my relationship with Xbox and it is clear that many are doing the same. Xbox has failed to communicate with its fans. Xbox has bought the likes of Bethesda/Activision/Blizzard, not to make games but to ensure mass profits. It’s a bizarre way to go about what is essentially figure fudging.

Phil Spencer’s ego has grown so big that I’m surprised we can even the shelf behind him these days.

Neither he, no Sarah Bond, nor Matt Booty have any care for Xbox gamers.

I also suspect that they are also no longer in any sort of control and are merely just the puppets being controlled from above.

Microsoft gaming will make billions from gaming but not through its own hard work.

As for Xbox hardware - they may as well throw the towel in now. They have failed Xbox gamers. But they simply no longer care.

TBH Xbox could release the most powerful handheld in the world and it wouldn’t sell anywhere near enough units. Again. Xbox cocked it right up with Xbox One but with the Series X/S they have not marketed it, they have not even tried to make up any ground and they have now proved that the only reason that they were buying companies was just to stops others getting them.
Slowly, one by one, they are now closing studios as if it’s some sort of game - pun not intended.

My relationship with Xbox is coming to a close. They have shafted every Xbox fan and they do not care.

I can’t carry on with Xbox anymore. I have tried to defend and make sense of their decisions but I just can’t anymore. They are literally the utter sc*m of the gaming industry.
Bond, Booty and Spencer should be collecting P45’s not bonuses.

Picking this up on pay day! Love this kind of game and played at a mates and loved it! Not perfect but bloody great fun!

It was a crazy long saga and Jim Ryan wanted to eke it out for as long as he could. He got his deal and then off he popped.

Xbox are putting games in as many places as possible. It’s good for gamers. Anyone who doesn’t see that is deluded.

But what does that even mean. If they still fail to market it - in the UK, I cannot remember seeing an advert on TV for the Series X/S at all in 4 years!
Will it be such a leap that makes it harder for devs to make cross platform games?

She is saying this in an almost desperate bid to build up rumours and interest but surely it’s too soon. Unless that next gen hardware is coming in 2025.

I wish Xbox would stop taking in riddles and just cut to the chase.

How will this work with an all digital Xbox future? Will its just be digital gaming that is preserved?

Seeing so many people moaning about 30FPS and they haven’t even played the game! For a game like this, even at 30FPS I would expect it to still run beautifully. But then I’ve not played it either!
People need to chill on the FPS and it only needs to be an issue if it actually affects the game and from early previews, it sounds like it doesn’t.

Will be interesting to see if we get a GOTY contender or if the Xbox Tax will hit hard again?

Hopefully it’s the former. Xbox is due some good fortune surely.

It is a UK based magazine and I am pretty sure this website is fully aware of that. Xbox magazine died - made also by Future- because it just didn't sell enough, a bit like Xbox series consoles.

It is also available on Readly but I would always encourage people to buy the physical magazines and keep print media alive,

Had this been launched instead of the Series S, then I would have understood. But to release the underpowered Series S when they could have just launched this initially shows how bad Xbox have become.
I don’t see the point in the PS5 pro but this from Xbox just further proves how removed from reality Phil Spencer has become.

But the big issue that Phil is totally blind to is that the strategy will not sell consoles.
He can have as many store fronts as he wants on Xbox but as a platform what difference will that make.

People are unlikely to jump ship from PlayStation to Xbox and certainly won’t leave a PC rig for consoles any more as the generational leaps are simply no longer that big.

Switch will continue as a Nintendo machine with its own exclusives and be many people’s second gaming system.

But Xbox has a console is just getting worse, not better and Spencer is totally oblivious to the facts. Each day he remains in charge, the worse it will get

All well and good but Xcloud right now is running off Series S tech and it shows. Even with top quality Wi fi speeds, graphically and performance wise, Xcloud lacks in quality.

Thats what they need to fix first.

Game Pass sub numbers are not anything to write home about , let’s face it.

If GPU is the future for Xbox, then fine but it’s still not enough to convince people to buy an Xbox console any longer. They will need to offer something different.

I fully expect them to reveal a native handheld this year and use that as their hardware future with one last throw of the dice.

The issue with Xbox is that they have flip flopped around what they are doing and now Phil is doubling down on Xbox being a place where you can access lots of different store fronts.

To do so means you still need hardware but the fact is that nowhere near enough people are buying Xbox consoles.

Time is running out so Xbox need to make a huge decision snd make it asap.

Considering sales of Xbox in Europe are reportedly down 47% year on year in Europe, bringing out a refresh is pointless let alone bringing out a Pro model.

Xbox may as well have one last throw of the device. Get rid of the series S and release a handheld hybrid to see if they can claw back some sales.

Sadly, the harsh reality is that Xbox needs to get out of making consoles in the near future.

Phil Spencer gets a lot of credit from some but not from me. Xbox will go third party no matter what Bond etc say.

@NarutosBiggestFan you mean the kind of games that have put PlayStation on the brink of disaster. Yeah, great idea.

Gaming is heading toward to a huge crash. Every day there are more layoffs. Sony is in deeper trouble than anyone actually seems prepared to accept and we are heading for an 80’s style implosion.

It’s no longer sustainable.

If people aren’t deeply concerned then they need to get their heads of the sand very quickly indeed.

The whole gaming industry is standing on the edge of the biggest precipice since the 80’s.
Sad to see so many losing jobs.
It’s only just the end of February and the jobs losses are catastrophic.
AI is the big thing but it will cost jobs and in the long term will stifle creativity.

This rumour is from days ago. If they are to do it, then going for a hybrid model would make sense. Ditch the at home only model and go for a native, hybrid model at around £500.
It could work for Xbox.

@Fiendish-Beaver Whilst Starfield is a great game, I would hardly call it a system seller.

@Dimey yeah. It’s already been happening. MLB The Show is PS Studios game but on Xbox and Nintendo Switch. No meltdown there, although Xbox isn’t exactly shifting consoles at any great pace. That’s where the difference lies.

@Dimey I actually think this is going to be 2024’s most hyped non event. Same stance Xbox has had for ages that they want Xbox to be accessible on as many screens as possible. A select few games will go multi platform.
All digital Series that will be essentially a Pro model.
I just don’t think it will be as wild and industry changing as anyone things.

This was already known I thought. And tbh if it's game like this.… it's no big deal.

This update is gonna blow peoples minds for what's not in it as much as what is it in it.

This is going to be a PR disaster.

The MS PR team are abysmal.

It will show us the way things are heading. I’m not sure there will be much clarity tbh and more likely more confusion.

@Titntin I think if it’s just a few games here and there, no damage is done. MLB The Show is multi platform already and that has caused Sony no harm.
If it’s things like Starfield , that strikes me as odd.

@Blinx That is an issue but by the same token, with social media, they can offer clarity much sooner. Whilst we can’t expect every rumour to be answered all the time, to allow something like we have seen with the Xbox rumours get so out of hand has been poor really.
A lot of damage has been done through lack of communication and that is going to be tough to recover , even for someone as huge as MS.
