Back at the Nintendo Direct last week, we were treated to the unlikely announcement of the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, which will be combining the original two Battlefront games and adding 64-player online support.
Naturally, the Collection has been getting a lot of hype from Xbox fans ever since - especially considering that even though the OG Battlefronts are backwards compatible, you can't play them online anymore. With the inclusion of a full multiplayer suite, plus a few extra maps and an expanded Hero Assault mode, the new Collection feels like a no-brainer.
"Fight in iconic battles from across the STAR WARS™ galaxy. Play the classic STAR WARS Battlefront games on modern consoles, online and offline in this complete classic collection."
Better yet, the price actually isn't too bad. Sure, these are old games and to some they might feel dated in comparison to the more modern Battlefronts, but a starting price of £26.31 / $31.49 (with a small discount) will encourage plenty of Star Wars aficionados to jump on board.
The question is, are you one of them? Were you a massive fan of these games back in the day, or have you never actually played an OG Battlefront title? Do you think they'll be worth playing in 2024? Let us know your thoughts below!
