At last SMTV is truly free
SMT V is the big one here. I love the relationship between Atlus and Microsoft. A few years ago this would have skipped Xbox and go only to PS.
Battlefront will be fun to play is that coming to gamepass
So happy to be getting SMT5. But why, why is Xbox not getting Battletoads in Battlemaniacs!? I know I'm probably the only person that still cares about that game but still! 😂
@eire-shabba I don't think any of the other Star Wars rereleases did, I don't think this one is published by EA either.
A shame monster hunter stories is not coming. I really liked the second but never played this one. I bought the 3ds version last month or so and won't upgrade to switch but I would buy it on Xbox for the GS...
Man Sega/Atlus are cooking this year! So glad SMT5 coming to Xbox
What is Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance? A sequel? An expanded version? The performance on Switch turned me off. Actually, all these games look interesting in different ways.
@Banjo- was wondering the same, quick google search lead me to IGN where they say is an enhanced version (see below copy/paste), so pretty excited about it.
"Vengeance is an enhanced version of Shin Megami Tensei V with new content. Two complete story paths await, including a brand-new storyline with new locations and demons, and where your choices will determine the fate of all existence. Navigate conflicting and tragic moral decisions and confront a dramatic tale of revenge or explore the original Shin Megami Tensei V saga."
@Stamnoso It sounds great. Thank you!
I don't have time to finish Soul Hackers 2 before it leaves in a week or so, but I'll make the time for SMT V.
@Balta666
Monster Hunters Stories was not very good the sequel is an improvement in every way
I played SMTV in Switch and I completely loved it. Crazy good. I'm just glad this is coming to Xbox, ready for a new run with extra contents. Great day!
Very happy about SMT V coming to Xbox
Looking forward to playing SW BF CC!!
@Banjo- it'll be a rejigged and enhanced version of Shin Megami Tensei V, in the same manner of Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, etc. Atlus loves doing that, instead of just, y'know, making the game feature complete and/or fully in tune with its creative vision in the first place. If P5R is any indication, SMT5V will likely include new storylines, quests and features interwoven into the original version of the game, along with reworked dungeons and updated gameplay mechanics.
Star Wars Battlefront classic collection?! Yes, please. Day one, let's go!!
@Markatron84 The only Atlus game that I have bought is Tokyo Mirage Sessions for Wii U. I am playing the definitive versions of Persona on Xbox, but I can understand that if you bought and played the original games, it's a different story. I skipped Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury because of that. However, if this one comes to Game Pass like the other Atlus games, then at least you can play the definitive versions on Xbox and not buy them again, if you feel like playing them again. There are very few RGPs that I would replay.
That mickey rebrushed cinematic is so good!
@Banjo- Same with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, I completed the original in Wii U, so I skipped the new version. But, I am open to play it someday, same with some 3DS version of Wii/U games I played back in the day: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World.
Radiant Historia comes to my mind as well. One of my favorite RPGs on the DS, I have a 3DS 'Perfect Chronology' copy waiting for me. I agree with you that there are some RPGs worth to be replayed.
@fbnaulin Right. It was very nice getting free upgrades on Xbox One X and Series X and also using the same save files, but paying again on the other consoles doesn't make much sense to me. I have to play Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology after reading your comment. I didn't play it on DS but I have it for 3DS 😊.
I wonder if we could get the old Obi-Wan game. That's one of the few Star Wars games I never got a chance to play as I Series X is my first xbox.
I had a GameCube and PS1/2
@eire-shabba No Aspyr games have ever gone to Game Pass.
I was really hoping SMT V would be on Game Pass, along with 3 (and, in my dreams) 4! But I've waited this long and would definitely buy V (well, use my Xbox rewards points anyway hehe)
Why is there still no release date for Octopath Traveler 2? I've waited months, after they said "early 2024." It's not going to be early 2024 much longer.
SMT V: Vengeance! People were wondering if this was more "Persona 5 Royal" (same game with some added stuff) or SMT IV: Apocalypse (brand new game), but honestly, it sounds like it's both. Improvements across the board, but with a second route roughly equal in length to the first. And SMT V itself was not a short JRPG by any means lol.
Not usually a fan of Switch losing exclusives, but this game always deserved to be on more powerful hardware.
The original game had some issues, but the monster-collecting, exploration, and sense of scale were dope. Hope it enjoys far more success as a multiplatform release.
@jesse_dylan Eh, I thought they skipped Xbox version entirely, just like Star Ocean 2nd Story R ðŸ˜
@AM2fl4m3 they did at first oddly, despite the first one being on game pass. But it seems like Xbox sweet talked sq-en in the meantime. Sq-en is only interested in making live service and nft trash and game of thrones obsessed AAA junk now anyway.
