Definitely the claim of 10 games this year from Xbox adds up!

I’m desperately hoping for some Gears 6 gameplay in June and a rough release date.
Will probably be 2025.
I know a few PS5 owners that during all the gossip this week, were so hoping Gears was coming to PS5.
I think it seems to be Xbox most popular exclusive for PS5 owners. So the game has some good respect.

The Forza Horizon series this generation and previous has always been the jewel in the crown of late for Xbox studios. For me it’s probably one of the games this generation from Xbox studios that kept its high quality AAA standards.

Me as well, getting fed up with these remasters etc in the gaming world.
Go use all the resources to make new games.

I'm looking forward mostly to Warhammer Space Marine and Stalker 2 in terms of Xbox exclusives. And am I the only one who thinks Warhammer space marine physics look very similar to original gears of war ?

lots for us to look forward to this year, and beyond... sadly, all I will continue to see on the bus stops and billboards of the UK through 2024 (and on my TV and laptop screens) are PS5 adverts.

the general public will never know about ANY of these games if you don't ADVERTISE them. maddening...

@Dimey I remember that they did some Call of Duty on Xbox advertising before the acquisition became a worldwide war against Sony. I expect that when the deals with Sony expire, Microsoft is going to make a huge campaign about Call of Duty available on Game Pass.

on a tangent, I went into a House of Fraser the other day, and on the top floor they have a GAME in-house, and it had a HUGE PS area, no joke it was enormous. took up most of their floor space... and a tiny little xbox section hidden at the back. No wonder they don't sell many consoles, the game is rigged!

even less on topic, they had one of those arcade 1up machines on display, it looked pretty tidy!

@Dimey I think most Xbox are digital gamers. Whilst Game have always been PS centric, I used to buy physical from them 360/Xbone. But since gamesharing took off for me, I've been purely digital.

@el_pieablo @Dimey To be honest, since I got the Xbox One I see the Xbox section much smaller than the PS section everywhere. According to Sony, just 4% of the software sales of PS games are physical now, so I wonder what the future will be. Off topic: many shops no longer sell BDs. Besides, most Xbox gamers buy digital or play on Game Pass. Nintendo is the only one that sells tons of cartridges because for some reason they are always cheaper than digital and can be shared among Switches. Many Nintendo fans have several Switches judging by the posts on NL.

@el_pieablo understood. I meant more that there were huge displays for the console, the headsets, the controllers, so people are going to buy a PS console over an XBOX, wasn't so much meaning games

@Dimey That might influence parents but if Microsoft releases a dockable handheld and a powerful next-gen console, they will be not ignored.

I might actually buy Indy on Switch 2 (a lot of speculation in that phrase) but I'll absolutely partake in Avowed. Something about first person RPG's just makes sense for Xbox, to me.

@CutchuSlow to be fair they said major "releases", not major "games". Expansions on the level of like cyberpunk or witcher 3 certainly can be considered as a major release, even though it's not a new game

Here's the thing, how many of these 10 games are Acti-bliz titles? (title that was going to come out regardless of what happened with the purchase.) and how many are from the MS and Bethesda?

Xbox has what 30 studios now, 10 games a year feels about right (assuming a 3 year dev cycle)

To you it's dead but not to others. As someone who can't stand Western RPGs, thinks Bethesda are terrible, despised the first Hellblade and has no interest in Indiana Jones, this lineup is a joke.

Give me creativity like the genuises at Double Fine, a Rare game that actually looks interesting, another gem like Hi Fi Rush or a new Crackdown that isn't total dogpoop.

@nomither6 for me i would take Gears of War collection over and before Gears 6. I want the first 3 games in unreal engine 5 as my most wanted game on any console.

1. Gears of War Collection
2. Red Dead 2 (60fps edition)
3. Quake Reboot
4. World of Warcraft (console)
5. Halo (rebooted)

I am not sure if i will see any of this, but those 5 games would excite me to no end and i would have more than enough to play with just those 5 games. I am not excited for the 2024 announced games all that much. They just aren’t my bag. But if they are made well and do well then i am happy for both the gamers and microsoft.

@HonestHick couldnt agree more, thats a damn solid 5 games. ive been eye'ing helldivers 2, even though i dont know jack about it lol. its something new and interesting though, especially being a sony IP and all since theyre track record for a while has been cinematic third person games. theres also tekken 8, have you ever tried fighting games?

Xbox has some great titles coming, no question.
They need it though as its a great year for games in general and many of the 'oppositions' anticipated titles are arriving in the next few months.
I hope their summer show has some fantastic new unannounced titles coming soon as well , and I continue to await avowed and hope for Indiana to be all it can be.
I think the recent communication from MS has hurt the brand a bit, but the whole industry is better off with a strong MS. The best way of keeping this is to keep the news where it counts - with strong 1st party games.

@nomither6 Let me know if you end up liking HD2 on PS. I am still not sure if i want to get it or not and yes i do like fighting games. Haven’t bought Tekken 8 yet. But i got Street Fighter 6 on launch day and have around 60 hours of play time on it.

Xbox is finally getting Final Fantasy XIV. I started that on my PS3 since Sony allowed cross platform play. It didn’t get released on Xbox because they refused cross platform play at the time. It is amazing! Well worth the time sink! And it’s a guaranteed winner, not a toss up like a Redfall or Starfield!

They keep touting Hellblade 2 as a huge release, that game was definitely not something I liked and many others I know feel the same way. Its followingvis more niche than anything.

My Xbox can't talk, should I return it?

More than ten for the Xbox, less than zero for my PS5, other than Silent Hill 2. And that's a timed exclusive.

@CaptnTedo I kinda think the same about Hellblade 2. I thought the first was ok. Not convinced that part 2 is going to be that good.
