TMNT: Shredder's Revenge is such a great game, its not surprising they've been given the keys to this other IP. Quite excited to play this when it releases.
I have fond memories of Oblivion, my only gripe being the tutorial sequence in the sewers/jail being a some what slow start. The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild storylines in Oblivion are well written and I'd gladly replay them. The game isn't going to be Skyrim and that's okay, it doesn't need to be. I'd mostly be playing this for the story because it tells a story that is quite different from what we got in Skyrim and for a lot of Elder Scrolls fans, that's more than enough to take them back, along with being able to visit other locations in this universe. I'm hoping this remake/re-release is a real thing.
Just started Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, only a few hours in and its tough as nails but making slow and steady progress and loving every minute of this game. It's like a Medieval version of Read Dead Redemption 2.
Yeah, this feels like Final Fantasy XVI will likely be announced. And I'm fine with that, I've heard its an interesting game (not everyone's cup of tea) but then again what FF game is. They're almost all divisive and everyone has a favorite and/or one they hate.
This game has some good bones but I've realized its just not for me. I personally find that it takes too long for the game to open-up and the many many loading screens also just pull me out of the immersion of it all. It's not a big deal for many, but I've tried to get into this game so many times and I keep bouncing off and I think I'm done trying.
I will pick this up eventually but until then, Diablo IV and the recent Vessel of Hatred DLC are in the queue and for anyone on the fence, it's a great game worth picking up. A lot of fun, a lot of content, a variety of builds with a quick respec on the fly option, so you can always tweak and fine-tune your builds as you get into mid and late-game. Highly recommend giving D4 and Vessel of Hatred a chance in 2024. It's not the same game that was originally released.
There are absolutely TOOO many games that are worth playing right now: COD: Black Ops 6, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred. I'll likely be diving into DA, but with breaks for BlOps6.
I love how stupid Microsoft can be, how stupid Sony can be, that these companies do not understand that we just love games period and that putting it on more platforms means more sales. But, whatever, c-suite executives are going to do what they want to do and damn the rest of us, its all about investors, not the consumers.
I still think Dying Light 2 has more bang for your buck but this update sounds like its adding a lot of good things, maybe on a deep sale I'll pick this up.
Picked up Age of Wonders 4. Only the base game so far, but may pick up the DLC down the road if it goes on sale. But loving this game so far. Basically Deep Fantasy Civilization.
Heading back to Dragon's Dogma 2, starting over because its been so long and I need to ease myself back into the flow of the game. Also, I want to change my starting class to Fighter as opposed to Rogue/Thief. I want to eventually lean into Warrior sub-class so I can really do some cool ass ***** in battles.
I think I'm also going to dip a bit into Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand and some No Man's Sky. Honestly, I just want to zone out this weekend, my work has been too hectic and my brain feels like an eraser rubbed hard against a carpet.
I picked up Dying Light 2 from the end of summer sale. Story is mid at best, but the gameplay is stellar and it just feels good slicing and dicing and clubbing zombies to death as you parkour across a city.
I'm in a looter-shooter mood, picked up Borderlands 3 on a deep sale and looking forward to diving into that and just being silly with guns and turning off my brain.
Hope everyone has 140+ GB of storage (and thats just for campaign, warzone beefs it up another 10-20 GB. I enjoyed playing this series but the install size is out of control and I'm not uninstalling everything else to play a single online shooter. Boggles the mind.
Street Fighter VI is all I picked up. Wasn't really thinking of grabbing anything else. Too many games I'm already not playing and I also just picked up Darkest Dungeon 2 on Switch and that's eating up all my time lately.
I picked up Street Fighter VI on sale and I plan on diving into the campaign and arcade mode in between EVO matches I'll be watching on stream. Fighting game weekend.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. I was replaying Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order but I made the choice to just scrap that re-play and start in on the sequel. It sort of all came back and didn't feel the need to re-tread the story like I had thought I might need to do.
It's not the amount of gaming that has changed for me as I've aged into my 40s, but the types/genres of games that I find myself playing. I am playing lots of older games that feel comfortable and do not require as much mental energy and attention or focus. That's mostly a result of being so brain-tired from staring at 3 screens for my work.
Honestly its the "THE" of it all that is annoying. I agree that Dreadwolf sounds cooler, but the colon : THE takes you out of it and its so awkward to say and pronounce, which you'd think someone in marketing might understand but why would I expect some c-suite CEO to understand that. :shrugs:
The most recent season and "Loot Reborn" update have changed the game entirely from what it was at release. Worth going back and giving it another shot. Highly recommend to anyone who needs something that is both engaging and yet kind of mindless. It scratches that itch.
Was he drinking tea or kool-aid? Because he seems to be carrying an awful lot of water for this company that he himself recognizes is terrible to developers/creators. And yet, he also seems to think that people should continue to trust in the same company that has burned so many developers/creators time and time again.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Phantom Abyss has been on Game Pass in early access and I've popped in a few times and its a ton of fun, looking forward to seeing what the full 1.0 release has added to an already engaging and entertaining game.
Been playing some AC: Valhalla and making steady progress. Having fun with a game that I can just sort of turn off my brain for and mash buttons on auto-pilot.
And also dipping my toe back into Baldur's Gate 3, took a bit of a break and slowly getting back into Act II.
For me, AC games fall into the category of wanting to play something but not wanting to think too hard because the work day was too mentally draining but I still want to engage with something on a smaller level that doesn't hurt my brain.
And Valhalla is wonderful for that. Just an hour or two in the evenings and you'd be surprised by how much progress you make. And the game only truly opens up after you arrive in Britainia.
1. To beat Elden Ring. 2. To finish Baldur's Gate III. 3. Not buy as many games and play the ones I own to completion instead of being 16% completion in 50+ games.
Plague Tale: Innocence had a next-generation update a while back, so I wanted to give that a go b/c I've heard only great things about the first and even better things about the second.
Still playing Cyberpunk 2077. Played up to Act III and now diving into Phantom Liberty, as soon as I grind some additional funds for some better cyberware. I love this game SOO much!!!
Still playing Cyberpunk 2077, Level 24, focus on headhunter/shinobi. The game is just filled with so much and its all very well designed and cohesive now that the 2.0 update has rolled out.
If anyone has been on the fence, urge you to consider going back, its not the game it was previously.
Outside of that, I might dip my toe back into Diablo IV, just to see if some of the balancing has been fixed. Mostly just love that gameplay loop of demons and loot. And the aesthetic vibes of that game are top tier.
Halo Infinite has sat on my backburner for so long but I've heard its in a much better place, so going to finally give it a go, campaign and then multiplayer.
And still plugging away at Cyberpunk 2077 with the 2.0 update leading to Phantom Liberty, making steady progress there.
And then there's Super Mario Wonder and Dave the Diver, who are also calling my name. So many good games right now. What a time to be alive.
It's pretty much the realization of what they had originally promised the game would be. Bravo to the team at CD Projekt Red for pushing through. Their hard work is appreciated.
I feel like this is the least optimal way to try out the game, but it is what it is and I guess if you have a strong enough connection it might be something worth trying, but considering how often you have to go in and out of menu screens and transitions from one place to the next, I would expect this to run real sluggish and look pretty choppy for most individuals.
Downloaded Medieval Dynasty on Game Pass and what a fun game. Think Skyrim meets Stardew Valley. Also, just the most pretty and chill environment to be inside of for a while. Feels good to also slowly build something and watch it come to fruition. It's a game with a bit of grind but the kind that makes you smile and feel good.
This looks like a really fun 6 or 7 out of 10. I'd pick it up on a deep sale or even better, give it a download if it hits GamePass. But for now, the price is a bit too high. Action looks great but so much of the world feels kind of dull and empty and I've heard the enemy design is not very varied, so its a no from me, but still open to it down the road.

Re: Xbox Announces Limited Edition DOOM Controllers And Series X Wrap
I like the wrap way more than the controller. But happy for anyone who is excited by this, maybe just not for me.

Stalker 2, Death Stranding, and likely some Fallout 4. I'm clearly in a very post-apocalyptical type of mood. Might also start a run of Elden Ring.
