Re: Bethesda's Rumoured Elder Scrolls IV Remake Could Shadow Drop On Xbox, It's Claimed

sonicbooming

I have fond memories of Oblivion, my only gripe being the tutorial sequence in the sewers/jail being a some what slow start. The Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild storylines in Oblivion are well written and I'd gladly replay them. The game isn't going to be Skyrim and that's okay, it doesn't need to be. I'd mostly be playing this for the story because it tells a story that is quite different from what we got in Skyrim and for a lot of Elder Scrolls fans, that's more than enough to take them back, along with being able to visit other locations in this universe. I'm hoping this remake/re-release is a real thing.

Re: Ex-Bethesda Dev 'Surprised' At The Amount Of Load Screens In Starfield

This game has some good bones but I've realized its just not for me. I personally find that it takes too long for the game to open-up and the many many loading screens also just pull me out of the immersion of it all. It's not a big deal for many, but I've tried to get into this game so many times and I keep bouncing off and I think I'm done trying.

Re: Path Of Exile 2 Has Quickly Become One Of The 'Top Paid' Games On Xbox

I will pick this up eventually but until then, Diablo IV and the recent Vessel of Hatred DLC are in the queue and for anyone on the fence, it's a great game worth picking up. A lot of fun, a lot of content, a variety of builds with a quick respec on the fly option, so you can always tweak and fine-tune your builds as you get into mid and late-game. Highly recommend giving D4 and Vessel of Hatred a chance in 2024. It's not the same game that was originally released.

Re: Talking Point: Has Your Gaming Slowed Down As You've Got Older?

It's not the amount of gaming that has changed for me as I've aged into my 40s, but the types/genres of games that I find myself playing. I am playing lots of older games that feel comfortable and do not require as much mental energy and attention or focus. That's mostly a result of being so brain-tired from staring at 3 screens for my work.

Re: OG Xbox Creator: I Believe In Xbox, Despite This Week's 'Tragic' Job Losses

Was he drinking tea or kool-aid? Because he seems to be carrying an awful lot of water for this company that he himself recognizes is terrible to developers/creators. And yet, he also seems to think that people should continue to trust in the same company that has burned so many developers/creators time and time again.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (January 9)

For me, AC games fall into the category of wanting to play something but not wanting to think too hard because the work day was too mentally draining but I still want to engage with something on a smaller level that doesn't hurt my brain.

And Valhalla is wonderful for that. Just an hour or two in the evenings and you'd be surprised by how much progress you make. And the game only truly opens up after you arrive in Britainia.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 4-5)

Still playing Cyberpunk 2077, Level 24, focus on headhunter/shinobi. The game is just filled with so much and its all very well designed and cohesive now that the 2.0 update has rolled out.

If anyone has been on the fence, urge you to consider going back, its not the game it was previously.

Outside of that, I might dip my toe back into Diablo IV, just to see if some of the balancing has been fixed. Mostly just love that gameplay loop of demons and loot. And the aesthetic vibes of that game are top tier.

Halo Infinite has sat on my backburner for so long but I've heard its in a much better place, so going to finally give it a go, campaign and then multiplayer.

And still plugging away at Cyberpunk 2077 with the 2.0 update leading to Phantom Liberty, making steady progress there.

And then there's Super Mario Wonder and Dave the Diver, who are also calling my name. So many good games right now. What a time to be alive.

Re: Don't Forget, Starfield Is Playable On Xbox One With Game Pass Ultimate

sonicbooming

I feel like this is the least optimal way to try out the game, but it is what it is and I guess if you have a strong enough connection it might be something worth trying, but considering how often you have to go in and out of menu screens and transitions from one place to the next, I would expect this to run real sluggish and look pretty choppy for most individuals.
