Welcome to the weekend! We're spoilt for choice on Xbox at the moment, with lots of new Game Pass additions, some excellent Free Play Days titles, a Throne and Liberty Beta, the new free-to-play release of Asphalt Legends Unite, and almost 1,000 games discounted as part of the massive Xbox Ultimate Game Sale 2024!
In other words, there's plenty of great stuff to try over the next couple of days...
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

I'm playing this something this weekend that I can't talk about just yet (often the case with this job), so let's gloss over that. There are plenty of other things on my to-do list, including checking out more of Dungeons Of Hinterberg on Xbox Game Pass (it seems great so far!), and giving Asphalt Legends Unite a try considering it's a free download.
If you like rollercoaster games, I recommend trying Park Beyond as part of Xbox Free Play Days as well. The game has really gone under the radar since its launch, but it's a decent addition to the genre and the full version is heavily discounted as part of the Xbox Summer Sale if you end up liking it enough. It's got its issues, but I enjoy it!
Have a good weekend, folks.
What will you be playing on Xbox this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

Will be mostly Warframe for me this weekend. It's also Tennocon weekend, the Warframe fan con, so will be keeping an eye on that for announcements.
I did briefly try Throne & Liberty and its a dull mmo with pay to win mechanics & PvP so yeah not playing that. It does look nice though I guess.
This weekend I'll be starting Final Fantasy X on Switch after having cleared Tales of Vesperia earlier in the week(a solid 8 out 10 from me, with the combat being the weakest aspect of the game) so that's gonna be nice to finally play through.
I haven't fully decided on what to play on Xbox yet but I did finally install Tales of Arise so maybe I'll start that one too, will probably play Hitman: Absolution too.
As for PS5, I may return to Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout once and for all.
As always, I wish the rest of you a nice weekend.
Rise of the Ronin - Finished and platinumed. First off, I had fun playing it the whole way through. However, I really do feel it was a bit too long and bloated and I think a shorter game would have had a better focus to the story and the side/bond missions could have been a lot fewer. Also, I could be best mate with someone, end up fighting him in a story mission and then after it was back to best mate again as if nothing happened. Would be normal maybe if we were piss drunk and had a brawl in the pub and didnt remember it the next day but yeah, made choices and bonds a bit wierd in the game. All in all I enjoyed the game a lot!
The First Descendant - yeah, Im still playing. Its grown on me a bit 😂 but its still not very good...
Asphalt Legends Unite - Im just a sucker for free to play games right now. This is pretty fun mindless arcade racing if you can ignore all the ***** around the racing itself.
Neon White - played for a little bit. The courses are really fun and addicting to play and try and master but the rest Im just not paying any attention to.
A little bit of Concord, a little bit of Erdtree (as great as it is as DLC, I’m not enjoying it as much as the base game, though I do want to beat it), a little bit of Kunitsugami, and I picked up Bo Path of the Teal Blue Lotus yesterday with $20 I got from PS Stars coming back online and a $5 credit I had from Sony Rewards. Last night, I pushed through to Sakura City (man, that Sengobo Bridge section was hard as nails), and I’m really enjoying the game, even though the platforming is sort of floaty and it can be exceptionally challenging at times. Concord, Erdtree, and Kunitsugami I’ll play a little bit with, but Bo, I’m going to play that one a few more hours if I can. There’s a part of me that wants to buy Nobody Wants to Die as well and try that out too.
On Thursday I finally rolled credits on Octopath Traveler 2 at 79 hours. Absolutely incredible game. Loved it from start to finish. 9.5/10
Then yesterday I played through Ashes: Dead Man Walking, which was decent for a short little expansion of Ashes: 2063. Just didn't really do anything special or unique compared to the main game. 7/10
I also played through A Juggler's Tale last night. The concept is better than the execution, not that it was a bad game or anything. Found the narrator to be a bit annoying and unnecessary, and the gameplay just isn't as fun or engaging as similar titles such as Limbo, Little Nightmares, etc. 6/10
My main gaming focus this weekend will be finishing Still Wakes the Deep. Excited to get back into it. Octopath kinda took over my life for about a month there! After that, I may finish up Sonar Shock or dive back into Metroid Prime 2, but I picked up Suicide Squad KTJL for free on Prime Day, and really want to check that out too!

Halo Infinite Campaign
NCAA Football 25
Battlefield 2042
Lake. LOVE this game! Former USPS carrier here : )
Finished Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn so I'm now playing Far Cry 6. Liking it so far.
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (3DS) - I've made it about halfway through the Ruins.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - I've made it to chapter 5 in my Hard run so far.
NBA Jam (Windows Phone) - This actually plays pretty well on a touchscreen!
Having really enjoyed Case of the Golden Idol last weekend, I’m playing the two dlc’s this weekend, ‘Spider of Lanka’ and ‘Lemurian Vampire’. They each have three scenarios, set at the more challenging end of those in the main game, again with an interesting and clever overarching story. Very pleased to hear that a sequel is coming out this year.
I’m also chilling out with a bit of ‘Humanity’ when my brain starts to hurt too much.
I picked up Street Fighter VI on sale and I plan on diving into the campaign and arcade mode in between EVO matches I'll be watching on stream. Fighting game weekend.
Xbox: Im in act 3 of Baldurs Gate 3. Have started googling all the quests because Im kind of burned out and would like to finish the story.
Switch and PS5: Nothing at the moment.
Recently finished: Just wrapped up my 3rd playthrough of Witcher 3. Game still holds up after all these years. Had a wonderful time revisiting.
World of Warcraft: Mist of Pandaria Remix (PC) In the final stretch of.this event only 30 days left and it feels like I have so much to do still. I will admit I will miss this once it's gone.
College Football 25 (Series X) Been waiting a long time for a college football game. I really like the changes they made and hope Madden incorporates them. Started a career mode.
Mostly ALBW but also Live a Live and some Still Wakes the Deep
Edit: also splintered fate as I just bought it for co op with my little guy.
Jedi Survivor, Kunitsu-Gami and Neon White
Stuck at home with bloody COVID, so....
1. PC: Started playing through the all Splinter Cell games for the first time; completed Nobody Wants To Die (can really recommend this to those who love Noir and games like LA Noire)
2. Xbox: Kunitsu Gami - Holy ***** what a beautiful and strangely chill game. Love seeing Capcom so weird stuff like this.
Been having retro racing in split/second love this game
@Tasuki thanks for bringing Mists of Pandaria Remix to my attention. I didn’t know it was a thing and I will be checking it out for nostalgia purposes.
MoP is actually the last expansion I played (I played all up to that point and beat every raid etc) I played it to the end then a week before Warlords of Draenor launched my daughter was born (3 months premature) and my world flipped upside down and I never had time for WoW again after that.
So I think the Remix might be a fun thing to try again after almost ten years away from it.
@BRT15 get well soon.
Just finished Sekiro. Pretty fun game and it was a thrill to beat the final boss after several hours of attempts. But the game has a lot of annoyances (camera, awkward story progression, confusing world design, multi-phase boss fights) and it’s not as “pure” as I thought (still tons of items/tools/side quests that I ignored or probably need a wiki to follow). I enjoyed the rhythm gameplay but it’s more good than great for me.
Mad max but keep looking at kunitsu gami and think I want to play that soon
@Lup If I could have the tone from the first hour of FC5, the openness of FCND and the setting of FC6, (and soundtrack of FC4), that’d be one of my top 5 games.
Between games after beating Shadow of the Erdtree. Last boss was too hard but overall another Fromsoft 10/10 masterpiece.
Eyeballing Yakuza Infinite Wealth next but not sure yet.
I'm in a bit of a lull at the moment, I've started The Witcher 3 again, also that Robin Hood game and The Callisto Protocol and nothing is really grabbing my attention I have enjoyed The First Descendant so far so that's probs what I'll continue to grind out.
Finished Jusant during the week, which was a nice chilled game. Started WWE 2K23 and working through the showcase mode, but I'm not sure if I like it or not yet.
Will also have the occasional hour on FC 24 & PGA Tour Golf.
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
@Kienda MoP was the last time I played WoW myself untill this past December when I went back to it again. I was able to finish the last raid for MoP back in the day and then my computer just died. Long story short that was around the launch of the PS4 and I opted to buy a PS4 instead of getting my PC fixed or a new one.
It is definitely a trip down memory lane and I will be sad to see the event end. Hopefully they do another Remix here soon. I have been enjoying it alot especially with the sped up leveling and update skill trees they added since I last played.
Well here we go with another interesting WAYP. Been a weird week around here. Wanna start with a little sadness but yet some inner peace. Whats gotten me down these past couple weeks has kinda led to a conclusive end. They’ll probably never see this and who knows maybe one day down the line we’ll be back again but for now farewell Agent Gap and Akibread. Perhaps one day we’ll meet again. Agent Gap you’ll always be my sweet Miorine. To lighter topics uh I played that new Nintendo World Championships and honestly that game is way way nicer neater and better then I ever expected. I’m really getting to enjoy these old games I didn’t think I ever would. Definitely loving it a lot. Not really gonna get another shot at Concord but again I reiterate how fun it is I cant wait for full release. Also saw that new Nick Cage movie LONGLEGS. Incredible movie I loved it a lot. Real big Alan Wake vibes from it I loved it. Thinking the rest of the weekend will just be a Persona 3 Reload or FFXIV Dawntrail weekend. Gotta keep working at that game if I want to beat it by my deadline of August 19th a fitting full moon. The weekend is also EVO Weekend so I’m looking forward to the other announcements of the weekend like Guilty Gear and Tekken and so on. Already getting Mature and Vice for KOFXV was pretty sweet. Probably after all the announcements are all said and done I’m thinking of either getting a presumed Season 4 Pass for Guilty Gesr Strive and the Tekken 8 pass since those are the only ones I think will be purchasable since vice and mature are December 😔 and a standard edition of Star Waes Outlaws or just the presumed GGST pass and a gold edition of Star Wars Outlaws. Snagged preorders on Emio and the new Splatoon amiibos so that’s also pretty sweet too. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Paper Mario, more P3R and some Stellar Blade, Monster Hunter Stories, Trails Through Daybreak, FFVII Rebirth Kunitsu Gami and countless more I’m probably missing ahahaha. Goal is same as before just clear out most or all of the first half of years of games before the second half really kicks off. Speaking of Monster Hunter I now own all the Monster Hunter Stories Amiibos and they are so freaking cool. Getting super hype for WWE Summerslam too that’s gonna be so hype I seriously can’t wait for Solo Vs Cody, Rhea Vs Liv and so many more. Anime of the week gotta go to Kaiju No.8, Oshi No Ko, Delicious in Dungeon and Urusei Yatsura of course. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be incredible to each other. Love those who love you. Have an beautiful weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
@Kienda appreciate it 💪
