Every few months or so we seem to bring you the news on a huge No Man's Sky update, but today's drop from developer Hello Games is ridiculously jam-packed even by its own growing standards.

No Man's Sky 'Worlds Part 1' is basically a complete overhaul of the Xbox Game Pass adventure. We've seen this sort of thing before from Sean Murray & co., but this patch has genuinely surprised us by how many new things have been crammed into it.

We've got overhauled locations, new volumetric clouds for when you're up in the sky, new detailed shadows, completely re-worked water simulation, fresh wildlife, new weather affects including wind simulation, additional environment diversity in desert and snow scapes, under-the-hood engine improvements, the game's latest big expedition and lots more. Seriously, this is just getting silly now!

No Man's Sky 'Worlds' Update Sounds Like A Complete Overhaul On Xbox Game Pass

If you want to see some of this stuff in action, we've got a deep dive trailer up above courtesy of Sean Murray himself, and the team has also given lots of extra detail via its new blog post on No Man's Sky Worlds. Remember, this is just 'Part 1' - it sounds like Hello Games has plenty more in store for Xbox Game Pass players down the road.
