Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 14-15)

Yeah, bought the Crew 2 as well at that ridiculous price. Playing that. And some golf on the Series S. Also picked up Pentiment on the Switch recently which is s very good. Happy gaming everyone.

I've played through a few shorter games - Milo and the Magpies, Florence, Thank Goodness You're Here - and am still doing my part for Super Earth and managed democracy in Helldivers 2. Oh and of course The Binding of Isaac because I'm never not playing that.

I played a few hours of the New World open beta. I could see myself spending a lot of hours, many many hours & energy drinks playing it.

That said right now I simply don't have time for it so it won't be a day one purchase but if I see it in a sale next year.

Mostly will be playing Last Stand Aftermath.

Might jump into Minecraft and work on some builds for a bit of chill time.

My wife & I just finished off the main story to Cat Quest 3. I think we’ll go play Cat Quest 2 now.

I’ve been trying to get into Octopath Traveler. Decent fun. Not usually one for JRPGs but I wanted to give the brain something to do now I’m a retired multiplayer FPS addict. It’s tough rewiring the brain. I’ve probably not completely a single player story in over a decade.

I’m still busy with Sea of Stars, obviously. But… I’m almost done! I think I’m in the last level.

Bit of a bittersweet feeling; I really want to dive into my humongous GP backlog, but I’m enjoying this game so much.

Edit: Finished it! Next up: Gotham Knights.

Star Wars Outlaws - really enjoying this game, flaws and all. Love exploring, doing side content, space battles and of course Sabacc. The Star Wars feeling is great, to bad there are some bad gamedesign choices, dumb AI etc otherwise it would be a better overall experience but its still a solid 8/10 for me.

Astro Bot - simply amazing! Taking my time with it, dont want it to end!

I’m stuck in the 7th console gen and don’t feel like leaving. Playing Alice: Madness Returns and Split/Second. Loving both games.

This weekend, I'm finally gonna beat Trails into Reverie(on PS5) and after that, I'll take a much-needed break from the series before I continue with Trails through Daybreak.
So...I guess I will continue playing Space Marine 2(also on PS5) once Reverie is beaten.

On Switch, I'll mainly play a bit of Pizza Tower here and there.

On Xbox, I don't actually think I will be playing anything this weekend.

Finished Watch Dogs Legion. The London they built is modeled spectacularly - so much work went into little environmental details. Unfortunately the game was a complete bore, especially sad since WD 1 and 2 were both great. The main issue is that there is no vibe: music, voice acting, atmosphere, tension, tone - it’s all completely banal and empty. Bloodlines DLC was a bit better but still just OK.

As a Ubisoft fan on Xbox, I’m often choosing between better-game or better-resolution/fps.

Nearing the end of chapter 4 in Black Myth: Wukong. Such an incredible game..

I'm also playing through Pokemon: Xenoverse on my Steam Deck. If you haven't heard of that particular one with sooo many Pokemon fan games and rom hacks out there, this one is a PC game (not a rom hack) with a few standout features such as a new type - Sound - and a bunch of fakemon, in addition to standard Pokemon and new regional variants. It's pretty cool so far!

@ParsnipHero Octopath Traveler is great. The sequel is even better; I preferred the characters in that one and there are a few extra mechanics in the battles.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Sully had to go and get himself hurt didn't he?

Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Closing on the achievement for getting to level 80.

NBA Jam (Windows Phone) - At the end of this I feel. Time to delete it and move on to another WP game.

Astrobot and Wukong still stealing my time.
I do want to find time for more Diablo 4 ahead of the expansion.

Finishing Persona 3 Reload. It's alright. It's just a Persona 5 reskin. Absurdly easy compared to any other version of Persona 3. I think it's the easiest Persona in the series.
I don't know if I'll play The Answer since I remember hating it, but maybe.

Pretty much the same two games I was playing last weekend - Astro Bot (PS5) and Star Wars Outlaws (Series X). I want to buy/play Space Marine 2, but it will have to wait until I finish one of the other aforementioned games.

Spending time with my current GotY, Astro Bot. I also started the original Space Marine game on Steam Deck because Steam FINALLY had it on sale for a good price.

Started playing Cocoon on Gamepass yesterday. It's relatively short, so I should be able to finish it today or maybe tomorrow. Been good so far, no puzzles I haven't been able to figure out, and the world looks really cool.
After that, I'm going to start playing Halo: ODST either this weekend or next week.

Heading back to Dragon's Dogma 2, starting over because its been so long and I need to ease myself back into the flow of the game. Also, I want to change my starting class to Fighter as opposed to Rogue/Thief. I want to eventually lean into Warrior sub-class so I can really do some cool ass ***** in battles.

Yeah I bought the crew 2 and it don't work, goes to title screen press to continue then resets back to Xbox dashboard. Have uninstalled and reinstalled still nothing. On other hand lollipop chainsaw is great fun game which in playing constantly

Traveling this weekend so I only have a switch and odin2 with me. Playing xenoblade chronicles 2, need for speed carbon (ps2), and sword of mana (gba)

As I said my brain doesn’t do single player content because I’ve been so focused on short bursts games like roguelikes, battle royale & arena shooters. I felt it’s ruined my attention span.

I’ve been playing Classified: France ‘44 on the Free Try Day. It’s basically a WW2 XCOM - you build a squad, do turn-based missions to do things like blow up bridges or raid supply dumps in the countdown to D-Day. There’s also a strategic level, where you have to gain strength in regions and grow relationships with other resistance factions. Pretty good I think!

I've ended up replaying No More Heroes 3. I pray at the altar of Suda51 frequently, and just noticed this was on Gamepass. So... even though I got a Switch for TSA and NMH3, I'm grinding it out all over again to get all the Xbox achievements.

The Lollipop Chainsaw re-release also spurred my interest, as that was something he worked on. But it seems he hasn't had a hand in this remaster, so I don't know how to feel.

Space Marine 2 and New World Beta. Good gaming weekend 🤘🏻

Well here we go with another nice WAYP. Been a nice and cool week around here. Most of the week was just the usual games like Dawntrail and Star Wars. Most of the weekend when not working was taken up by the Grand Festival in Splatoon 3 and more Visions of Mana. Made it to Future Defender rank in Splatoon 3 and the only shame is it’s probably the last Splatfest and I just absolutely love these little things. The way they changed the map too? Excellent. Made it to Chapter 4 surprisingly in Visions of Mana. I say surprisingly because Chapter 1 felt really long while Chapters 2 and 3 were quick. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Ace Attorney, Trails Through Daybreak, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, Paper Mario, Bakeru, Dawntrail, Astro Bot, Emio, Star Wars Outlaws and Visions of Mana. Think on my day off I’m gonna crack into Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP so I’m super hype for that. Also got the Original Capcom Fighting Collection on a sale this week so I’m excited to try that. Think this is also the week Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster and The Plucky Squire comes out so I’ll be hype for those. Also got some PSN money that I think I’m gonna use to preorder Silent Hill 2 Remake and save some for when Ys X: Nordics comes out I’m very excited for that. Only wrestling thing I wanna mention this week is short and simple. WWE Bad Blood has most of its matches decided like Rhea Vs Liv and Cody with Roman Vs Solo and Jacob and I just can’t wait I’m so hype. Anime of the week gotta go to Nokotan, Alya Sometimes Speaks in Russian, Oshi No Ko and Mission Yozakura Family. Again all of these anime are absolutely killing it they rule. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel, Aetheryte Radio and Remap Radio.
