Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 6-7)

I’ve been really enjoying my time with The First Descendant so I’ll be playing that this weekend then I need to get back to playing Hypercharge: Unboxed which I’ve barely touched since buying.

Balls deep into Jedi Survivor, superb game,way better than Force Awakens

Xbox: Witcher 3 (starting Blood and Wine dlc). Been a fun ride playing this game for the third time.
Also, BG3. I made it to act 3 and feel completely overwhelmed and have no idea what to do or where to start.
PS5 and Switch. Nothing.

Just more Octopath Traveler 2 for now.

This weekend will look largely the same as last week for me:

On Xbox: Ghost Recon: Wildlands
(Unless I grow tired of it yet again, this is one of the few games that has that effect on me)

On Switch: Tales of Vesperia
(Gonna focus on main story until I beat it, combat is fun but gets a bit tiresome for me, but that's like the one aspect I kinda struggle to like with the game)

On PS5: Trails of Cold Steel IV is still prepped and ready to go but my aforementioned Vesperia focus means I probably won't be able to simply swap between them.

The First Descendent for me. It does nothing new, wholesale copies some Warframe systems and the shop is predatory in the extreme fully designed to prey on impatient people.

However, you can get everything by playing if you put the time in and are content with the knowledge that it will take many many months. (Like Warframe again I guess.)

The minute to minute gameplay is great and it's the sort of game I can just jump into for a bit of shooty action fun when I fancy.

Also chipping away at Final Fantasy 14. Although I did buy the new expansion I am a long way from playing it but I am not trying the be the world's first or anything. I will get there eventually having lots of fun along the way. Really just happy we finally got it on Xbox

Have been trying The First Descendant this morning. I also plan on trying the Dead Space remake, The Callisto Protocol and Death Loop this afternoon. May also try a bit of Ghost Recon Breakpoint and also Wildlands aswell.

I'll be on eafc just started a career mode with juve it's fun so far and I'll jump onto elden ring for a bit aswell get a boss or two done and maybe some mario bros on the 2ds I know it's old but still good

I've been playing the amazing Far Cry 5 for the second time. Enjoying it a lot. One of the best in the series alongside 4.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (3DS) - Around halfway through Episode 1 so far.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - I'm starting a Hard playthrough this weekend.

Microsoft Bingo (Windows Phone) - Nearly finished with this now.

The First Descendant. Enjoying it so far but we'll see how the game well the game fares over the longterm.

Took about a week break from jedi survivor because I was getting a bit bored but think I might jump in and finish it. I feel like I've gotta be near the end

I've paused Cyberpunk 2077 this week to play the games that are leaving Gamepass.
Started and finished TOEM (fun little game).
Now I'm playing Figment 1 to understand the story and play the second later.
After that I'll start Coffee Talk 2.

I spent 32$ on the first descendant and mostly just play that game i'm level 40 the game start to be challenging at this point.

Started to play a bit of MCC Halo 3 with AC1 and Brotato ready to resume when needed. Sitting at 54% achievements so far in Brotato and still enjoying!

Avatar, Toy Soldiers HD, Halo Wars, GRID Legends and FH4 - all on Series X.

On Xbox, still wakes the deep.
On switch, alttp and live a live.

I decided I wanted to play through all the Halo campaigns since I haven't touched a Halo game in over a decade. Haven't played anything after Reach, so looking forward to getting to those newer for the first time. Playing through the original in the MCC has been pretty cool.

Crash N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and last night I finished The Warmth Between Us, which is a Taiwanese visual novel that, as the kids say, got me right in the feels.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. I was replaying Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order but I made the choice to just scrap that re-play and start in on the sequel. It sort of all came back and didn't feel the need to re-tread the story like I had thought I might need to do.

Replaying the outer worlds in preparation for avowed. I also have a replay of advance wars 1 and borderlands 2 going that i dip into here and there.

I absolutely loved dead space remake so I will probably start another run of dead space 2 sometime soon.

Forza Horizon 4 eliminator mode. Don't want to play that game mode with non casuals when the game leaves Gamepass and is delisted.

Figment 2. Gamepass is perfect to visit simple games

@ANJB78 I keep looking at breakpoint but never seem to pick it up. Dead space on my list too. Enjoyed it few years back so looking forward to it

Still Octopath traveler 2. Game pass been hitting me with huge RPGs this year. It’s made it hard to make time for unicorn overlord and smt v!

@BacklogBrad I’ve been waiting for the enhanced outer worlds to come to game pass. Should I just play the original instead? I’m not sure I have time before acowed! But I plan to play avowed day one.

@BIG3 act 3 seems more overwhelming than it actually is! Just wander around and do what you feel like and don’t worry if you miss something. You’re not intended to do or see everything, and it has all kinds of machines in the background to funnel you along. And if anything is too hard, dip and so something else first. There’s some stuff you’re intended to be max level for.

Started Diablo 2 resurrection last night for some reason! I was enjoying myself, so I anticipate lots of that today inbetween the British GP.

Replaying Celeste. What a joy (despite the B-side hand cramps).

@jesse_dylan the base game is fine for a 1st playthrough. They boosted the frame rate on consoles to 60fps for the base game when the enhanced version came out.

I am playing on pc. The enhanced version was free on the Epic game store awhile back. I'm surprised it is not on gamepass. This will be my first time playing either dlc once I get that far.

Well here we are with another stupendous WAYP. Been an odd week around here. Think I’m dealing with a bout of genuine depression but that’s not what these spaces are for so that’s all I’ll say. And a really bad cold too hahaha. Don’t be afraid to ask for help yall. In terms of good things this week? Beat Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth which is a GOTY contender it was so good. Enjoyed the demo of Kunitsu-Gami so I’m gonna secure a preorder on that and Nintendo World Championship NES Edition. Also a really nice time was WWEs PLE for July, Money in the Bank. Sad to see John Cena leaving by the end of next year but hey just means we gotta go see him eh? Definitely the standouts of last night would have to be Tiffany Stratton the new Ms Money in the Bank or should I say Tiffy in the Bank. Amd Jacob Fatu in the Bloodline match. That dude is physically an enigma like a genuine work of art. Also enjoyed some Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD alongside that and that game is so freaking cozy I love it. Great summer or fall game honest. Thinking the rest of the weekend will just be a Persona 3 Reload or FFXIV Dawntrail weekend. Depends on how I feel honest. Not gonna aggravate more depression. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak on my day off hopefully, Stellar Blade, and maybe some Paper Mario. Maybe Zenless Zone Zero too I think I found a huyoverse game I like. Anime of the week gotta go to Kaiju No.8, Demon Slayer, Delicious in Dungeon and Urusei Yatsura of course. Anime Expo happening this weekend has been quite fruitful with TRIGUN Stargaze, RWBYxVIZ, the three Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movies, NEW Panty and Stocking and so much more. Definitely think I’m gonna secure a preorder of that Delicious in Dungeon box set they announced. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast,Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling and Remap Radio.
