January's Xbox Game Pass lineup for 2024 continues to grow today with two new additions to the service. We've got Ubisoft's 2020 RPG Assassin's Creed Valhalla, alongside the gorgeous indie adventure Figment; from Bedtime Digital.
Here's a quick look at both of today's new Xbox Game Pass titles:
Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Console, PC, Cloud)
"Become Eivor, a legendary Viking warrior. Explore England's Dark Ages as you raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in the quest to earn a place among the gods in Valhalla."
Figment (Console, PC, Cloud)
"Figment is an action-adventure game that invites you to explore a unique surreal universe filled with music, humor and multi layered narrative. Join Dusty and his ever-optimistic friend, Piper, on an adventure through the different sides of the mind seeking to restore the courage that's been lost."

Having only played the old AC games back in the days I always thought Valhalla would be a 6/10 game. I’ll definitely check it out if it’s this good.
@Darude84 just don't try to complete all the marks on the map from the very beginning. Valhalla has insane amount of different things to do, and most of that content is mediocre at best. Concentrate on story and main quests. In this case you'll avoid getting tired of the game too fast and at the same time visit a solid amount of locations anyway.
@Tomato_Goose Good advise, thanks! I’m a completionist, so I would have totally lost myself I’m afraid 😅
Valhalla is good but super-bloated. I'd recommend taking one or two breaks during your play-through! And that's just the base game..
I'm not playing Valhalla on GP, because of the sheer size of the game lol
Valhalla is a massive game filled with things to do. The problem is that 70% of it is the same thing.
Not showing on my game pass.. any help?
I enjoyed Figment 2 when I played that on Game Pass, so I'll likely try the first one.
@Tomato_Goose How long should it take to complete just sticking to story stuff I'm going to give it a go but i don't want to devote my life to enjoy it I have loads other games to play
@IronMike We struggled too, but we finally found it! We went into the store and then went into one where they didn't say install with Unisoft+, I think it said Buy or something, but when you click it. It goes to another screen where it says Install with GP or Buy for amount...
@Deathgrip brill, got it now. Thank you.
Another issue! It forces me to choose to select install language, but there's NO ENGLISH! Any ideas anyone?
@IronMike Everyone is having the issue on PC - it's made worse by Ubisoft locking languages behind different regions. I assume this will be fixed soon.
@Kaloudz i really liked origins and Odyssey for their more xpanded rpg stuff I wish this one was more in line with the Odyssey. I do not like the charater upgrade system but I will give it another chance and see if maybe i was just burnt out on ubi open worlds for a minute.
@Kaloudz and that in a nutshell that is why Valhalla is called Valhalla
@eire-shabba how long to beat says 61 hours for main, 97 for main + sides and 144 for conpletionists… PSA double these numbers if you are me
More stats on True Achievements: there are 50 achievements which 5% have completed the base game. Add all 9 DLC and only 1% have completed the 92 overall achievements.
@Trotterwatch can I install in say Spanish and change to English in game, or should I wait for the "fix"?
Thank you.
@IronMike I'd wait, the English language files are not physically present in this current download. Laughable I know!
Pathetic! I'll wait then. Thanks again, have a good one!
@AlwaysPlaying Not for me so have enough to games to get tru right now but thanks for the info buddy👍
@eire-shabba it still depends on some factors, but I will say something about 50-60 hours. Still a decent amount of time.
For me, AC games fall into the category of wanting to play something but not wanting to think too hard because the work day was too mentally draining but I still want to engage with something on a smaller level that doesn't hurt my brain.
And Valhalla is wonderful for that. Just an hour or two in the evenings and you'd be surprised by how much progress you make. And the game only truly opens up after you arrive in Britainia.
@Kaloudz for me it was the hardest AC to get into speaking about the latest 3 titles. And the one I enjoyed the least, to be honest, even though it has bright moments and some cool stuff in it. Perhaps I was just too tired after spending hundreds of hours in Odyssey.
Also AC 2 and 4 are my favourite titles of the series, too
Good drops just need a time machine now i have such a backlog i need a therapist 🤣
