Welcome to the first weekend of December! Things are going to start quietening down now on Xbox as we approach the new year, but we've still got a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass titles to check out this weekend, another selection of Free Play Days titles, over 100 new deals that have been added to the Xbox Store, and much more!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

The only game that I've been playing on Xbox over the past week is Judgment, which I still haven't finished yet but I'm absolutely loving all the same. I haven't forgotten about Like a Dragon Gaiden on Xbox Game Pass, but I'd rather stick with this for now - and then probably move to Lost Judgment - and then finally I'll move on!
It's been a while since I've played Disney Dreamlight Valley as well, but with the 1.0 release taking place next week, I might finally dip back into it. Perhaps even a bit of Disney Speedstorm - I love that game, but I'm a bit burnt out on it...
Have a good weekend, folks!

This weekend I would love to get stuck into Remnant 2 since Xbox was kind enough to shadow drop it onto Xbox Game Pass for us - how thoughtful! Funnily enough, I’ve had the game since it launched but for one reason or another I didn’t end up playing it. Silly, I know! I’ve installed it onto the ROG Ally this time around though, so we’ll see how it goes.
It completely slipped my mind but I need to complete Final Fantasy IX this month (thank you for the reminder). Rolling the credits on FFIX is one of my 2023 gaming resolutions so I must get back into it. I’m much further through the game than I’ve ever been before, but with it being December already, I’ll need to hop to it if I hope to finish the job.
However, knowing me though I’ll probably just kick back with Vampire Survivors or Halo 3 ODST / Halo Infinite…
Happy gaming!

Okay, so we're all feeling the GTA VI hype, yes? I've been feeling it for the past week and have been diving back into GTA V as a result. It's not my favourite (IV still holds the crown), but it's such great fun just cruising around Los Santos. I'm not much for online play, so I'm quite content to just muck about in the Story Mode.
Elsewhere, I've actually recently picked up an Atari 2600+ console, so I'll be breaking out a few classic cartridges over the weekend to find out exactly what I missed out on when I, uh, wasn't alive. I'm already loving Adventure and Yars' Revenge; if you look past the primitive nature of the visuals and gameplay, there's a lot to enjoy.
What will you be playing on Xbox this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

Hmm.
For once, I haven't decided on what to play this weekend(I beat Super Mario RPG a couple days ago) but I suppose I'll play some Remnant 2 with my buddy and possibly Trepang² while I decide on my next big project to play.
I dont want to finish TIN HEARTS but Im nearing the end taking as much breaks as I can because I love it and dont want the gameplay to end. I said in my previous post a bit and again its going to be a great addition to gamepass later this month. Im happy I can support the devs as gratitude.
I started up Venba and checked a youtube walkthrough to see its a 1-2 hour experience so I plan to continue it and finish it. I played just the beginning and the music was good enough for me to want to hear all the songs it has.
I resubscribed to gamefly after having it in 2020 and turning it off after a few glorious months of binge gaming. First game that arrived is HOGWARTS LEGACY. I played the 1 hour trial that PS+ offers and it was a nice teaser to get me ready. In fact I reached the main title segement just as the 1 hour trial timer ended making it a perfect stoppping point. Looking forward to diving in once I finish the other two games.
I know this is a long shot but Im a casual gamer in my 30s who doesnt have any co-op friends to play with. So for years I have a disdain for any sort of mic interaction and its hard to find people to play with that dont use mics. Also the idea of playing games on easy mode doesnt appeal to people but If that sounds like something that does then please reach out. I have various reasons for choosing easy/casual modes and would love to binge/marathon alot of the coop offerings on gamepass. As it stands I have a PS4, Switch, Xbone One with game pass, and a laptop with plans to get a PC and possibly XSX/PS5. Those are my future gamer goals. Anyone?
Have a great weekend
Game Pass/XBone: Venba
PS4: Tin Hearts and Hogwarts Legacy
I finished Jedi Survivor yesterday (quite s bit surprised with the endgame story bits. I prefer the first entry but it is was a good time). Just started Jusant which it is was s bit harder to get in the groove than I was expecting but now that I got there I am loving it.
Playing Persona 5 Strikers (sadly on PS4) before jumping to Tactica. Man, how I miss quick resume.
Don't know if I'll be playing anything else to be honest.
remnant 2, trying to get all achievements in og dead island and riptide, and some master chief collection coop campaign.
I won’t be gaming much this weekend. My one year anniversary with my wife is Sunday, so we are going to enjoy the weekend together alone since our kiddo is gone. Next weekend I have a surprise trip planned for us, so that’s should be a blast.
Whenever I get the chance I’ll probably be playing Octopath Traveler II. It’s one of my favorite games released this year. Originally, I played it on the Switch and finished every story except for two characters. I picked it up on the PS5 because it was on sale. My goal is to play it to completion and earn the platinum trophy.
I also completed Lies of P — an absolute masterpiece, in my opinion. The final (optional) boss, Nameless Puppet, was a pain in my rear end for a hot minute. I readjusted my level(s) and killed him on the first attempt. I said it last week, but I think it stands toe to toe with Bloodborne.
Right now, I’m chipping away at NG+. I’m halfway through my second play through and I restarted it yesterday. I never immediately replay a game after I beat it, so that’s a testament to how much I adore LoP. I’m hoping to get the Platinum trophy on my third playthrough (I’m dreading the final boss fight already). I had one trophy glitch(?) on me only because I performed a very minimal task correctly, but out of order.
And I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but that post credits scene was fantastic. I’m definitely excited for the future of this franchise, which is undoubtedly getting a sequel. The stories available to tell are endless.
I have 3 games in my backlog I'm trying to wrap up.
Xbox: Shadow of Tomb Raider
Switch: Metroid Dread and TotK
PS5: Nothing
Might pick up something new next week if they run any Game Awards sales.
@Kraven congrats on the anniversary!
For me it’s Minecraft. My wife and I are feeling nostalgic. We started a new world yesterday which is providing some interesting things to see.
I’m currently working on terraforming and building out the overworld around our house. While she goes out and mines.
Finishing Yakuza 5 (I'm on Shinada's part) and starting out Midnight Suns.
Some fighting games- Street Fighter 6, Capcom Fighting Game Collection, and King of Fighters 15.
My friends and I finished up the Remnant 2 Awakened King DLC last night, and I started Wolfenstein: Youngblood with my gf. Solo, I'm still going through Alan Wake 2.
I finished Metal Gear Solid last night. Overall good game with some hiccups here and there. With that said, I'm starting up 2 games tonight. Super Mario RPG + Dead Space Remake. I'll also continue my P5T playthrough. Good weekend lined up for sure.
Halo infinite has its hooks in me again.
I would like to make progress on dragon's dogma, final fantasy 7 remake, or tales of symphonia but it will probably be mostly halo.
@BacklogBrad I'm tryna make progress in ff7r as well but it's not as gripping as it could be. Don't think this franchise is for me haha
Getting the grips of outpost building in Starfield and that got me even more hooked. Just finished the Freestar Rangers questline and diving into ship building next. love this game!
Still plugging away at Borderlands 2 - so many side quests… trying killer instinct as a palette cleanser…
Remnant 2 DLC, Halo Infinite and ESO Necrom with the wife.
This weekend is all about Mineko's Night Market for me! Another superb example of a game that, if it weren't for Game Pass, I would never have tried otherwise. Really digging the whole cozy game genre lately.
@Cherip-the-Ripper I feel the same way. It's hard to get into.
Miasma chronicles...im really digging it
I'm currently playing High On Life..
Currently playing Generation Zero and Little Nightmares
@CHAOSbutler117 playing Generation Zero already is a little nightmare lol 😂 just joking man, but GZ never clicked with me.
This week I've finished pentiment, great exclusive with a narrative that kept interested. I'm working on Cocoon and Super Mario Bros 3 as games to play a little everyday and just started Chained Echoes.
Playing Steamworld build.
I like it a lot, I've done the first two levels but I do have this over hanging sense of "why should I do the others?" Sure it unlocks special buildings, but they make it easier.
Think I'll Tey the third to see of it's dungeons halves are more tricky.
Got bored with Starfield after 40+ hours and have dropped it to play Like A Dragon Gaiden instead. Also just started the original Castlevania after picking up the Anniversary Collection for a few dollars on Black Friday. The closest I've ever gotten to playing a Castlevania game is Vampire Survivors so this is a new experience for me.
A Short Hike which is a nice game
Forza and Starfield on Series S. These will be my go to for a while yet.
Mario RPG and Sunshine on Switch. Good clean fun.
Panzer Dragoon on the Original Xbox. Playing a heap on this and the games stand up well.
@Kraven Happy anniversary dude! Had my 24th in September and love to hear about other couples being happy and celebrating!
As for games, Im not really playing much this weekend. Ive spent money on my other passion, hi fi music, and Ive been breaking in my stupidly expensive speakers all weekend.
Its now been two weeks since I let my GP sub run out and Ive set up 'moonlight' on android telly to aceess steam with just a controller to access my PC instead. With everything wired up to router Im playing 4k 60hz with no issues and im not noticing lag. The PC plays everything on 'ultra', so the results are impressive.
Im still pretty set on quitting Xbox now they have all the digusting management teams Id been bouycotting ABK for. I expect to fold and give in and renew soon of course, so much value in GP, I cant see how I can forgo it, but its easier when you have so much in your backlog on other platforms...
Whatever and wherever you are playing, I hope you have a great weekend!
@Titntin yeah agree with the music. Often put a record on rather than game now days. Trust the speakers are doing great things for your ears.
@SpecialT Thank you mate. Yes, wharfdale Elysian 3's. £6k, bought with money and a rememberence of my wifes mother, who we lost in lockdown. Her passion and love of music will stay with us forever as these are our forever speakers!
Well here we go with another week of WAYP. Been one crazy week this week. Update from last week I beat Sonic Superstsrs but not just that game tho we’ll get to that later. This weekend I not only saw the new Nicholas Cage movie Dream Scenario and the new Godzilla movie Godzilla Minus One but I also beat Spider-Man 2 as well. All three were superb in different ways and a great time all around. Got some nifty new joycons this week too. The Pastel Purple and Green they’re very pretty. Unfortunately this week is nothing but early morning work shifts for me like back in the summer so truthfully the only PS5 game I can say is gonna get a lot of love from me is gonna be Alan Wake II most likely on my day off. Think I’m gonna try to snag a preorder of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising this week too. The shiny Deluxe edition so I can nab the season pass with it. With the Game Awards coming up I’ll probably check that out with friends and vote on it like today I’m thinking. Also for the rest of the weekend I’m thinking of abandoning my plans to 100% all of Super Mario Wonder for now and probably just try to beat it tonight. With luck I can say that about a lot of games this week. Pikmin 4, Pokémon Scarlet The Teal Mask so on and so forth. Excited for those Game Awards tho definitely. As for anime of the week I won’t lie I slacked a little this week so I’m only going to give credit to Spy X Family and Shangri La Frontier this week. Podcasts this week of course gotta be Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, Remap Radio, RPGsite Tetracast, Minnmax, Nextlander and Weapon Wheel. As always yall hope you have a wonderful weekend and happy gaming.
Taking a break from Cyberpunk 2077 & Phantom Liberty, to play GTA V (campaign) and Fallout 4. I'm in a sandbox RPG mode lately.
@Foxx_64740 LOL, honestly I love I. Me and three buddies co-op slay machines. By my self though I'm inclined to agree with you.
@AlwaysPlaying no way, borderlands 2? i’m so glad people still play it. i wish i could go back in time and re-experience the glory days of it, it’s such an amazing game
I'm a big SHMUP fan and finally decided to treat myself to a game called Cotton Reboot on the switch and I can't unsee the game in my head haha! It's absolute bonkers, and super addictive. I was tempted to bring my Switch to work today and maybe get a few games in on my lunch 🤣
