Is Glover definitely the PS1 version? The N64 version just got added to Evercade.

Seems like in the UK the physical editions exclude Xbox… please correct me if i’m wrong but TGC, Game, Amazon and Smyths are all not stocking an Xbox version.

@fbnaulin Yea it’s funny because Hellblade is the most Playstation-like of all of Xbox’s games.

@MrMagic 81 on Series X which is the same as Stellar Blade which you seem to enjoy. So maybe just let people enjoy this one.

@MrMagic lots of very good scores too, 9s and 10s. Also never forget Metro is the one who admitted knocking down a score for a game because it was an Xbox exclusive.

Remember you need Gamepass Core (or Playstation Essential) to even play this game online anyway. So really you are just paying the upgrade from core to Ultimate for access to this. Hopefully will convert a few more people.

@NEStalgia oh man I get what you are saying regarding him being someone you don’t push back on. But that is why i’m not suitable for that position. That is Phil’s job; at least to push back as much as he can.

I think the 4 games were agreed as a test, and a compromise between Xbox and Microsoft. So thats good that he limited it to 4 to begin with but if he can’t push back further what is the point!

Also an aside - Activision just opened up a new studio in Poland called “Elsewhere”!?

This is a huge educated guess from Jez. We all know this is what Satya wants. So he wrote an article about it since he has a platform. Everyone is just running with it.

@GamingFan4Lyf Phil’s job at this point would be to push back since he understands the industry better than Satya. Let’s hope he is doing that.

Square Enix (and to a much lesser extent, Insomniac) are the only reason I have a PS5. So yea, bring it all to Xbox and I will buy them all over again to show my support. Hopefully they stick to it this time unlike the last wave we got in 2019-2020 (Kingdom Hearts/Dragon Quest etc).

I want Xbox consoles to continue and I want them to survive and actually do well. Even if they are never first place. I don’t care about that, third place is fine! So for that reason I don’t think they should put any of their single-player focused games on Playstation (including and especially Halo and Gears).

In my opinion even Pentiment was a bad idea to port. It is all taking away from their exclusive library.

And yet… they seem to really wanna ***** do it.

And for the record it’s not because I want to take away from Playstation players. At all. It’s just that I can see this killing Xbox. And if someone really wants to play Gears and Rare Replay and Starfield, I really would have liked if they bought an Xbox to support… not the trillion dollar company, but Xbox itself.

Also also: why didn’t they just keep everything exclusive except for the entirety of ABK. Surely the multiplatform revenue from ABK (plus Mojang and Zenimax Online) would be enough? Thick.

This will be one big dump of games and re-listings on June 9th. I think there will be games like the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games being dropped that day too.

@PassePartout even for developers it would be bad if it’s just Sony.

If Sony was alone in the High end console space they could easily, outside of ongoing contracts, up their PSN store share from 30/70 to 40/60 if they wanted to. The whole thing would crumble. Xbox needs to fix up for the customers, for their staff, and for the industry as a whole.

That 40/60 would even hit Microsoft as a third party publisher but they would have no choice.

Oh FFS. These online only games should all get an offline patch to make them at least archive-able if nothing else. What a waste.

@Olliemar28 sounds like when he left he possibly took a lot of the staff with him? According to twitter right now at least… so potentially he contributed to its closure?

@cragis0001 even if you are right and there is a high staff turnover. I would have though having that stepping stone into Japan development would be worth the struggle.

Plus you could always just give the studio what it wants to keep them happy (granted I know it’s never that simple).

Their only Japanese studio. They finally get a studio in Japan, create an incredible stylish single-player AA game. And they close the studio and lose their only foothold in Japan.

Roundhouse isn’t shutting it is being merged with Zenimax online; which makes sense as they have been relegated to a support studio since Bethesda saved them.

Arkane Austin I can kind of understand though it’s still shutting a studio that could be contributing to your output. Not sure what the state of it has been since Redfall.

Alpha Dog is interesting since they said they wanted to increase their mobile presence. Though I guess they have their reasons.

But Tango!? They should be spinning out studios from Tango to increase their Japanese presence. What.

@rockodoodle no I agree with you but if they hit PS2’s record, the market still hasn’t grown. Not really, at least not a substantial amount.

Don’t need a remaster of Fallout 3 or NV yet since they work so well on Series X (seriously, can people please try BC?). I would love for them to fast track a new one but not at the expense of Elder Scrolls. They definitely should create a new team to handle it.

Fallout and Elder Scrolls are 2 of the biggest franchises in gaming and you have pretty much the same team rotating between the two (and Starfield) 😢.

@OldGamer999 I mean yea it kind of is. Say what you want about Phil Spencer but he is correct that the console market isn’t growing. So these companies will start doing whatever they need to to get a new audience. If that is smaller games or more GAAS then sure.

The only consoles to truly ever break the mould and get that peak market are PS2 (early DVD player), the DS and the Wii (casual). The DS and Wii being on the market at the same time. The Switch can’t even get close to that.

Playstation also has to show growth to its investors hence the PC releases. But if it’s not enough they will have to pivot too.

@OldGamer999 sorry but that is one of the points of an acquisition. Of course they incorporated a revenue bump into their financials.

For the record, anytime Playstation “purchases” a third party exclusive their revenue goes up too. Their costs go up, sure, but when you are reporting revenue it “makes them look good”.

@Smigit Playstation version seems to have a lot of crashing; and the PC version is having issues with the screen size.

That said, it worked perfectly for me yesterday on Series X but I didn’t even check the settings - so I guess I was in FPS mode.

@tho_mi touchè. Switch it with Helldivers then. Same thing - or does that not count because Sony doesn’t own the developer? Regardless the point still stands - switch FFXVI for a first party game.

As I have mentioned elsewhere I would much rather have had access to the game for the last 6 years than to have an extra pixel of shadow on a tree.

For the porting of the game to Playstation - it’s probably a different team, with different priorities and it is a different decade. So things change.

It anything it’s a natural progression of tech and experience and the teams at Xbox should be praised for doing their best and not holding the PS version back unnecessarily like Jim Ryan accused them of potentially doing.

Also if Final Fantasy XVI comes to Xbox and has another pixel of detail on Torgal’s balls then does that mean Xbox wins? Or is it still better to have had the game for a year of your life?

Good game! Not mindblowing but was a solid PS2-style game with nice visuals. Worth a playthrough.

@Lup I agree unfortunately. There is bias against Xbox across the industry no matter what people say. Only Metro has blatantly said it so far but that doesn’t mean other reviewers don’t adopt it too. Depends who is reviewing.

Thing is, this is Xbox’s “poniest” game so far. So really it should review well.

What will confuse things is if the reviewers are unsure if it will come to Playstation eventually. Their minds were almost blown when they had to figure out how to review Deathloop and Ghostwire.

Got all 105 achievements/3000gs for this and loved every second. For those that haven’t played it - it’s a very good addition to Gamepass. But yea I assume most people have tried it already.

You know on Disney+ where they have Disney, Pixar, Star, Marvel, Star Wars and NatGeo as categories… Xbox is pretty much at that point where Gamepass can have XGS, Zenimax, ABK and then Third Party. Each being a massive selection.

Plus leave some space for when they acquire Sega and Square Enix (😉 Jk).

Infinite Wealth was incredible - Palworld was fun. But i’m also pulled back into FFXIV thanks to Xbox. So yea it’s on daily for me.

I still use my 360 for certain games. The games work fine but the dashboard itself is so slow unfortunately. Was playing Saw the other day as I just got a copy.

I have heard that if you joined a hacked lobby in one of these games - all the achievements could pop but you then can get banned. Even if you didn’t know it was hacked when you joined. So i’m worried about the multiplayer.

I wouldn’t mind trying the Black Ops series out since I liked Cold War. Also want to try Modern Warfare 2019 and its sequels.

It’s quite funny that these are the rumours given that:

1) i’m sure Microsoft said (ahead of the developer_direct) there would be a separate event for the ABK Gamepass additions

2) yea Avowed, IJ, and FS2024 are all due this year so makes complete sense to give them dates.

3) Gears 6 is very likely to be there given that the Coalition is one of the few that haven’t announced their games yet after years since the last release (along with id and Double Fine).

@NEStalgia everyone knows the Mini Fridge industry isn’t growing. Gotta find a new way to monetise. Plus if you try a Mountain Dew from a Samsung it might encourage you to buy an Xbox Mini Fridge for the 2nd one.

Just got Back4Blood Ultimate edition for £9.99. Supposedly you can play the dlc with a friend without them owning it. So planning to smash through the DLCs before the game leaves.

I’d rather get the game over a year earlier than have an extra grain of detail in the shadow
