@Kaloudz they are all basically reskins of eachother but I have enjoyed a good few of them over the years on mobile and Switch. Game dev story being the standout. You place rooms and items down but a lot of it is about staff morale and finances etc. They are simple games.

I’m loving it. Running around doing missions and levelling up. It’s got some serious menu issues but they can be fixed in the future (and the planet map sucks - though it has encouraged me to open my eyes a bit and remember the locations). But the game itself is great if you allow patience and take it as it is. Not sure exactly what people were expecting, but at the moment it is playing like a Bethesda game in space… which is exactly what I thought it would be. It won’t dethrone Elder Scrolls but it’s still extremely strong.

Also i’ve heard multiple people say the game has a slow start but I would argue this is quicker at getting going than most RPGs like it. For reference i’m around 10 hours in.

@Kienda great comment and really puts things into perspective. Sometimes we are all so wired in; we need to take a step back. Loving the positive reactions this game is getting and, though tempted with early access, I am really looking forward to playing it next week.

For me, Oblivion, Skyrim and the Fallout games are some of the best gaming experiences I have had with some of my longest playtimes (maybe only FFXIV got them beat with hours played) so I will try my best to savour this.

Great for Xbox and Bethesda to have delivered such a great experience and definitely a win for Gamepass!

I’m happy with the response overall. Was hoping it was 85 or above and so far it is… can still drop of course. But regardless the reaction is positive. Inject these Bethesda games into my veins please. Going to enjoy myself playing the game and let the fanboys fight amongst themselves.

The metacritic score has disappeared for me now. I could see it earlier. Weird.

@StonyKL Kind of hard to prove when a game has been knocked down; though as an example there is the Quake II review on Push Square. Though I actually wasn’t talking about Multiplats (if it’s the same game on Xbox and Playstation then it’s the same game - the bias isn’t going to be that blatant!).

More just that if 2 games of the same quality were released, one on Xbox and one on Playstation, the Playstation game would get the higher reviews and praise. Like how Stray (exclusive at the time) was ridden high. Not a bad game of course but bigged up because it was a playstation release. Plus looking at the metacritic scores of Playstation exclusives I just don’t think they deserve them (again not bad games and well produced but… where is the fun?). My opinion of course.

I don’t watch every youtuber or influencer so i’m seeing it from my perspective. I mean I do listen to Kinda Funny and even they would find it hard to deny they skew blue overall.

Anyway the one that comes to mind that is a fair match-up would be Psychonauts 2 vs Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. In my opinion the former blows the latter out the water but the reviews didn’t show that.

The way Xbox games seem to get unfairly bashed (I really do think there is a Playstation bias across the industry) I don’t necessarily blame their thinking. But it’s bold to actually act on it! Not that I have been keeping up with who has review code yet etc. only really interested in Paris Lilly’s review and Pure Xbox.

Also I can’t believe i’m having to pause my Starfield pre-install just to make sure i don’t freeze on work calls in 2023.

It could be awesome of course; and i’m sure on a first playthrough it will be good but ultimately I think it loses replay value.

@Tomato_Goose true - the way Nightdive is going I say bring them on. They have done some amazing remasters. But I have to say it is better when the game isn’t available on the platform already; e.g. Dark Forces and Turok 3.

Really though I just want Blake Stone. I really hope it happens.

Nah I always buy a Playstation for one game and end up regretting it. Xbox for everything else.

@StrawberryTurtle more anti-consumer than blocking the game entirely? The split-screen can still be worked on and patched in later if necessary/possible. This just gets the game into more hands, quicker. I’m sure those with a Series S would rather have access to the entire game except split-screen (for now) than absolutely zero access. @Moonglow is absolutely right to call you out on your comments. Not sure what your goal is? No one is going to stop enjoying Xbox because of your comments.

This is great news. For the sake of Local Co-op (which I personally love and based an entire Youtube channel around) it’s not worth missing the whole game.

Still trying to work out if this means these games can still be native on Gamepass (just not cloud streamed). I assume it does as that is what Xbox would want most.

Definitely first signing up in Jan 2006 for me. Unlocking the live “Blade” and getting into my first game of Perfect Dark Zero. Incidentally that is where my Gamertag and username come from.

The first Gears must have also been a great game to start with.

@UnusedBabyWipes I do think it’s possible for a few Activision titles to become BC. I hope they can work something out. Especially with Crash, Spyro and Tony Hawks.

@NEStalgia you can buy FFXIII trilogy through the new store. Most backwards compatible games are on there I believe. Just a couple that aren’t.

As others have said; it’s frustrating it took Digital Foundry and Playground Games for this to get any notice. I don’t notice the lag anymore at all but it is there and I did notice it when I first installed the soundbar.

So many people clamour for these remasters when they all work perfectly well on Xbox already. I’ve said this before but Xbox is probably seeing all these re-releases and thinking, “why did we even bother” if they are all going to be coming out again anyway.

@Dan1283 pretty sure 2025 COD will be the first Gamepass Day One release. I have read that multiple times (but I don’t have a source so 🤷‍♂️). It’s due to Playstations current deals i believe.

Edit: however… not sure if that means it can’t come “Day Two”

Just started Prodeus with a friend. This literally just happened with The Ascent too. Hope it’s not leaving but we shall see.

Bethesda games are pretty much my top gaming experiences. Oblivion blew me away back in 2006 having only dabbled in Morrowind a little bit. Fallout 3, 4, New vegas, and Skyrim were all incredible experiences in their own right. I have faith this will be incredible as a gaming experience despite it not being “oscar bait” and going for the highest of metacritic scores.

I will miss it. It’s nice building up a library of obscure games. Shame very few seem to think so.

Finished The Ascent with a friend yesterday. Really enjoyed it for the most part; we tried it in 2021 but was way too buggy; but seemed much better now.

Whilst SE quality has dipped for sure (they spam out too many games); it would suck if Xbox missed out on Kingdom Hearts 4 or Dragon Quest XII so hopefully it’s all good for the future at least. I’m happy with this news but it does make my PS5 more of a paperweight.

This is actually incredible news for Xbox. However, this did happen in 2019/2020 with Kingdom Hearts & DQXI coming over and then just… stopped. Hopefully this time it will last.

I still don’t get what people want. Playstation give bigger games a lot of the time and guess what; I already have them and most i’ve played. Surely it’s better to get games you don’t own.

Serious Sam 4 was surprisingly fun in Co-op. Will try and get a friend to blast through this with me too. If it’s like 4, then you can turn on infinite ammo etc and just cause mayhem throughout. I hope it is

Just fyi; According to TrueAchievements there is one achievement that doesn’t currently work though the dev said they were going to fix it eventually…

As for me I was planning to blast through the rest of The Ascent with a friend but we haven’t had a chance yet so it’s been either finishing FFXVI or Pikmin 2.

Piko basically bought up the rights to a bunch of old properties including 40 Winks and Glover and are slowly releasing them everywhere. Hence why a lot of the games on Antstream Arcade are the same ones you see on Evercade (40 Winks being one of the few PS1 games on there too).

I think for the sake of nostalgia I don’t like the idea of the name disappearing entirely but as the article says it’s still there in the background; just no longer the name of the subscription.

• One is for online multiplayer.
• One is for Gamepass (Console).
• Ultimate is for Both.

Not sure why people get so confused over these things. If you didn’t offer the 2 options people would cry that they just want online multiplayer or they just want gamepass.

I think every option is there to funnel more people towards Game Pass Ultimate. So as already mentioned; GPU seems attractive compared to this.

But the option is still there for the annual sub for those that just want to play online.

You keep all the 360 games you have redeemed permanently but Xbox One/S/X redemptions are only playable with a valid sub.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Good for Playstation players to at least have the security of 10 years if COD is what they want to play (though I imagine it will continue past that). Time for Xbox to enjoy that sweet revenue.

Between Gamepass, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Candy Crush; amongst others, that is a huge stream.

There is a big chance we see the deal finalised tomorrow. The only query I have with this would be around Microsoft’s relationship with the CMA going forward into the future should they choose to close anyway. Hopefully they can sort this peacefully and the deal can be legit under the CMA too.
