Bethesda Trademark Hints At New DOOM Announcement For Xbox Games Showcase

Hard to feel excited about anything Xbox atm.

I'll be skipping the Showcase this year. I do not want to give Xbox any postive metrics after the Tango Game works closure.

Hello there fellow gamers.
This seems about right. We haven´t heard much from id software in a long while and the rumours for a prequel game could also be true.
Kinda excited for the nex Xbox gaming showcase.
Xbox really needs a WIN and needs to excite fans with great GAMES. A lot of people are in bad funk as of now and they really have to bring some positivity and excitment.
Wich may prove difficult, but not impossible.
Fingers crossed for it to be an amazing one.

I’m very excited for the showcase. Tango was a stupid decision but the games Xbox is bringing are still exciting to me. So much variety.

I didn't like Doom 2016, but Doom Eternal is one of the best modern shooters ever, so I can't wait to see what's next. Doom Eternal is seriously good, with great pace, level design and amazing gameplay. Id has been busy helping other studios. They worked on Starfield. Time to show what they are making by themselves.

I would guess that they would be about ready to reveal whatever they have been working on since Doom Eternal. That released in 2020, 4 years after they released the rebooted 'Doom'.

Its been 4yrs - although Doom Eternal was still being supported with DLC and 'next-gen' upgrades into 2021 and with this being their 'first' new game since new Hardware came out, could take a bit longer, so maybe are now ready to reveal their follow-up to 2020's Doom.

With Indiana Jones and Starfield DLC expected, hopefully this will be Positive for these remaining Studios as Games become the focus...

Nice. I've been playing a lot of platformers, since I own DOOM 2016 and can play Eternal via Game Pass Core, I think it's time to rip and tear into those games.

And this will be the first game in the series designed with Series S/X in mind, so that should be cool.

More specifically, the rumor its DOOM: Year Zero, a prequel. Can’t wait.

A Doom reveal is always exciting to me having grown up with the original games. 2016 and Eternal are absolute top level fps campaigns in a world now saturated with live service and pvp fps. In addition, ID are always at the forefront of cutting edge graphics tech - I don't think any other studio can optimize games for current hardware like they can. Very talented bunch of folks.

Well it’s less exciting for me than a Quake reboot. But i hope the rumors of a new Quake is still true and comes out after this Doom game. I.D is one of the best dev teams MS has. This should be a huge hit with the fans.

@BRT15 That's how I've felt about games for years. The last time I could say I was excited for a game was MGS5. I'm older, though.

Regardless, I'll watch the show and it will be interesting to see what is presented. HB2 will be here in a week or so.

@TJ81 Doom Eternal is in my top 3 of best shooters ever. The pace and gameplay of the campaign are incredibly good.

@HonestHick After remaking Quake and Quake II, I expect more Quake as well.

So pumped. I am pumped to see the plan for the next year. So many cool games on the way.

@Banjo- i am hopeful. There was a rumor saying they are working on it. It would have a single player and multiplayer. I love fast paced shooters. Despise battle royals. So Quake would hit home with me if they did it and made it really good.

I already miss Mighty DOOM.

@HonestHick I'm all about Quake & DooM and hope they bring back the old multiplayer modes because I'm not a fan of the new mode they introduced in Eternal.

Can’t we branch off and make a third person doom to compete with dead space ?

@PROPS for sure, that would be great. Doom is a great IP for sure. I am just more into Quake. I remember playing Quake 3 on a friends PC and just loved it.

Doom is one of my favourite series ever, so don't get me wrong I'm super excited, but I thought it was a given we would get a Quake reboot next, after the remasters, the story of Doom being complete after TAG 1&2, and comments byHugo himself that suggested they'd move away from it for the time being.

@HonestHick I've been playing ID's games since Wolfenstien 3D on DOS. I love Quake & DooM equally. So much, I used to design and share levels for them and hosted a server specifically for multiplayer. I was also a part of the DooM Legacy community, which once ID released the source code, a couple of fans modified the engine, so you could look up & down and jump. Used to have a blast rocket jumping so I could rain down punishment on my opponents.

I miss the good old days of run and gun death match. And yeah, to date, Quake III Arena was my favorite multiplayer. I've even considered buying the 360 version..and according to some of the recent reviews, the servers are still active, but no one's playing.

@PROPS thats awesome, you been with them since the start. Oh heck yes Quake 3 was insanely fun. If they remastered that for Xbox and PC, i would day one that as well. I was just hoping the rumors of a Quake reboot in the way of the Doom reboot is real cause that would be an outstanding game. Unlikely we hear about it this year since Doom Zero seems to be real. But i am sure that will be a killer title. ID rarely if ever misses.
