@GeeEssEff Most of my roles are have been relegated to paid testing roles. Have specify paid because most people think public betas when uoh say you test. I'm talking testing before half the assets even exist and you have checkered, purple, cubes representing things. 😂
Not the most glorious thing as you're pretty much spending time intentially trying to break things and/or going down a check list. But hey, a foot in the door and being paid to play something not even released. The bad thing is there are quite a few times you report things that go completely ignored. My time working on Assassin's Creed: Unity is an obvious example of that one. I cannot tell you have many tickets on the tracker I had opened a a year before release that went unfixed by the time it hit retail.
For Bloodstained, I had a little bit more input. Still testing, but got to work on some stage, mob, and boss development as well. Thank you though! I'm glad it turned out as well as it did. I know it isn't some people's cup of tea, and that's okay.
@Fiendish-Beaver There's no reason to believe Sony would prohibit Gamepass on Playstation as both EA Access and Ubisoft+ are already on Playstation. Sony would certainly allow it if Xbox was no longer competition and their cut was right.
And seeing as how smaller companies like EA and Ubisoft were able to negotiate a cut with Sony, there 0.00% chance Microsoft wouldn't be able to.
@electrolite77 if. Microsoft does this, then they will be strictly a publisher.
In that scenario Gamepass will undoubtedly be brought to other platforms.
Hardware and licensing fees are drops in the bucket compared to what they'd made from having Gamepass on Playstation. Especially when in general, there's not much a return, if any, on hardware.
@GamingFan4Lyf I never said it would be good for consumers.
Only that it would be good for Microsoft. Which at the end of the day is the direction a business would go.
@IOI That's normally how those things go, yes. Microsoft did exactly that with Windows Phone. Then Windows Mobile before that.
Just FYI: you're talking to the the person with a 18 year subscriber badge on his profile, with two Series X's, and has had an Xbox since 2001. So be sure to direct your frustrations appropriately.
Fixed an issue where, although the displayed capture probability increased when the capture power was strengthened with Lifmunk Effigies, the capture probability did not actually increase at all due to an internal processing bug.
Awesome news. This was my major bug that needed fixed ATM. Looking forward to not losing as many palspheres now.
I'm expecting them to talk about their games going to other platforms.
I wouldn't expect any information about them exiting the console market until neerer the end of the generation so as to not kill what hardware sales they can still make.
Especially since they supposedly have a Series X and controller refresh coming out.
I couldn't care less about the helmet being removed. But the complete and wanton disregard for everything Halo the writers had completely kills any enjoyment I could find in it.
Nothing more than a fanfic that uses names and light plot pout a while completely rewriting everything else.
@cragis0001 That's simply incorrect. I have a Xbox, Playstation, and Switch strictly for their exclusives. And I currently use my Xbox for multiplats as well.
If Xbox no longer has exclusives then I'll have zero reason to buy an Xbox.
@IOI Agreed. As of this point my digital purchases on Xbox are halted. Was gonna buy RimWorld this evening as well. 😂
I'll keep it for now as my Gamepass is paid up until 2027 IIRC. I'll probably be moving my purchases over to my Playstation instead now.
Had two friends that were looking at Series Ss that I convinced that get an X instead. Went ahead and let them know probably a good idea to hold off for now. No point for them to buy one if the games they want are coming to Playstation.
It is supposed to be a simulator. I've never once had to level one of my cars or motorcycles in real life for me to install performance parts. Something I'm doing to my MK3 Golf Cabrio IRL currently.
Uninstalled it and won't be back until they remove the car leveling to upgrade parts.
@Xbox_Dashboard I'm not aware of anything like that. My experience was quite the opposite. I canceled my ESO+ subscription when I lost live for a little bit because it wouldn't let me play.
Nor does the official website say that. In fact is says the opposite.
As far as I know, or what is documented, ESO+ is simply access to all DLC and crafting bag and an XP buff, without having to buy anything.
That said, if it is now the case due to a recent change, then it is a special exception Microsoft made for a first party game.
@Xbox_Dashboard ESO went "free to play". But you absolutely have to have to have Gold/Core to play it online.
Prior to this it required both.
The reason is Microsoft only removed the requirement on games that had no initial buy in.
So with ESO you have the buy the game before you could subscribe or play. Same with Final Fanyltasy 14. You have to buy it first. Then you have to subscribe to play.
I'm not shelling out a premium price for a premium platform that provides no substantial exclusives.
I buy Xbox, Playstation and Switch, to have access to their exclusives. No other reason.
If a platform ceases to have exclusives, then I have no reason to buy it. Timed exclusivity means nothing to me and I'd be just as happy waiting for it to move over if that go that route.
@fizban3332 Antiquated controller? You do understand Microsoft is still playing catch up with Sony's controllers from the PS3 and is still currently lacking features every other platform, including PC, has had since 2006, yes?
I may not be a fan of the symmetrical sticks Sony used, but to call it antiquated is just plain goofy.
@Sakai We also got along with a horse and buggy as well but that isn't practical now a days.
I can't tell you the number of cables I have had to repair or plugs replaced due to cable mishaps over the decades despite being notoriously gentle with my hardware.
3m is barely long enough to reach my couch. Let alone provide slack to not yank my PC or console out when an errant animal or child accidentally snags it across the floor.
I've had two consoles irreparably damaged by that alone. An Atari 2600 and a NES. As well as one of the USB ports on my PC being ruined by that.
Definitely not going to chance it with either of my Series X that are mounted or even my PC.
Most of us don't though. I'm surprised Thrust master even made this controller. Then again their other hardware is super niche as well so maybe that's it.
What worse is all of these will be antiquated once the new city roller revision drops this year that has a gyro, something these lack.
@johnK
I wouldn't advise anybody but another Xbox controller until the new revision drops.
That said, that's what the Elite controllers are. They're in Controller labs.
Thankfully the faceplates are easily swappable. Just pop it off and clip a new one on. Did the same thing with my elite series 2 after painting a clear shell.
@Sakai It being wired only kills it for most people, myself included.
@TruestoryYep Weird of you to pick and choose what to respond to on my comment. As stated, Red Dead Redemption 2 is slow paced. 30fps is passable for slow games, albeit not preferred.
The comment about PC was due to the supposed lack of 60fps on PC. Had you read the comment and article before lashing out you'd have understood that.
And in what world is Dragon's Dogma not still a niche game? Even the MMO was a massive flop and was shut down after only ~3 years.

Re: Talking Point: Which Apps Do You Use The Most On Your Xbox?
I don't use apps on my Xbox. It is strictly for gaming.
Any streaming is done via my 4K Chromecast.
@rustyduck Only at full power draw. My gaming PC draws half of my Series X when even web browsing and even playing some games.

Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In February 2024
Loved Bloodstained. Though there may be a little bias since my name is in the credits.
Still though, a fun romp with nice aethetics and multiple endings. If you like Meteoidvanias, and Iga in particular, definitely a must have.

Re: God Of War Creator Suggests New Exclusive Strategy Could Be 'Desirable' For Xbox
That's what we've been saying.
If Microsoft goes multiplat they can simply focus on software and have a larger audience.
They could in turn save money by not having to do R&D, production, and distribution, for Xbox consoles.
Exiting the console hardware game just makes sense for Microsoft given how poorly the console sales compared to the competition.

Re: Phil Spencer Addresses Xbox Speculation Ahead Of 'Business Update Event'
Yea. This is pretty much the nail in the coffin for Xbox as a console. Sad to see as I've been around since 2001.
Not much you can do though. Guess I'll just buy the platforms that care about exclusives and just bargain bin Microsoft games on Playstation.

Re: Palworld Server Costs May Explain Why Xbox Is Helping Out With Pocketpair's Game Pass Hit
Makes sense. Steam provides dedicated servers for free for releases on the platform. Which realistically should be the standard.
The alternative are player paid servers like what many do for things like Ark, Valheim, or Arma.
Re: Report: Call Of Duty 'Black Ops Gulf War' Will Feature An Open World Campaign This October
The thing that will determine if I buy it or not: 4 player, split-screen, zombies.
If not, then will be a pass.
Re: Roundup: Halo TV Show Season 2 Impressions Are Starting To Go Live Ahead Of Launch
Gonna be a skip for me. I don't mind the helmet being removed, as that happened frequently enough in the books.
However, this isn't Halo. They used names and very rudimentary plot points and wrote a fanfic that watches like a horny 14 year old wrote it.
They had one job and failed miserably.

Well hell. Color me impressed.
That's pretty refreshing to see Microsoft dipping their toes in an helping out a third party developer.

That said, if we got a proper server, preferably with more than 32 players, that would actually have me dip my toes into it a bit more.

Re: Spec Ops: The Line Has Been Removed From Xbox's Storefront
Glad I have my physical copy from yesteryear.
An absolutely fantastically made and written game.
I loathe to use it, but it is the very definition of "subverting the genre".
It is a shame that with this removal so many people won't be able to experience it now for lack of hearing of it or even seeing it on store shelves.
This is one of those game I would absolutely "day 1" a proper remake with the narrative left absolutely the same.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Seems To Be Targeting 30FPS On All Platforms
That's gonna be a pass from me. The first was too action packed and played godawful at 30fps.
There's absolutely no way that this game will only run on 30fps on PC though, unless it is just one of worst PC ports in recent years.
@trev666 Red Dead Redemption is neither fast pace nor a niche game. And it also play at 60fps on PC

Palworld. That's about it. Not really much else to keep on at the moment until Indiana Jones drops.
On a side note: wow do half of these comments read like bots. Between the bolding of game titles and identical diction, kinda weird.

Depends on the decision. Hall effect sensors and gyro aiming on a an elite controller? Absolutely.

Bring back the removable battery. The built in battery is the WORST thing about the Elite Series. 2.
