Two of the biggest third-party accessory makers in gaming have announced a major deal, in the latest industry acquisition. Turtle Beach, the company famous for a range of Xbox headsets and controllers, is acquiring PDP - another company that's become well-known for its gaming accessory range in recent years.
The deal is worth roughly $118 million, and will bring the two teams together when everything's finalised and ready to go. Here's what Turtle Beach had to say on its move to pick up PDP:
"The Transaction combines two leading gaming companies with industry-leading teams, significant product momentum and proven track records of delivering profitable growth. The Transaction substantially grows the size of Turtle Beach. Bringing PDP’s leading gaming controller category to Turtle Beach will provide additional scale and create future development opportunities."
It remains to be seen if PDP will stick around as a brand under Turtle Beach or whether the name will eventually be phased out, but either way, Turtle Beach will soon own the name as another gaming acquisition takes hold.
We've been quite fond of some of Turtle Beach's products in recent years, especially some of its Xbox controllers which often rival the real deal from Microsoft. Check out a couple of our recent Turtle Beach reviews down below:
