When Ubisoft Plus arrived on Xbox earlier this year, it was received with a little bit of criticism for how expensive the subscription was, coming in at £14.99 / $17.99 per-month. That's a lot of money to spend if you're only interested in the latest release - but now for the first time, we've found ourselves very interested in starting up a membership.
That's because Ubisoft has been pretty busy lately adding some big games to the service on Xbox, and there's more to come in the near future. The five games we're specifically talking about here are The Crew: Motorfest, Assassin's Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Skull & Bones.
Here are the versions you can get with each of these games on Ubisoft Plus for Xbox:
- Assassin's Creed Mirage (Master Assassin Edition)
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (Ultimate Edition)
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Deluxe Edition) - January 18, 2024
- Skull and Bones (Premium Edition) - February 16, 2024
- The Crew Motorfest (Ultimate Edition)
On their own, £14.99 / $17.99 still sounds like quite a lot, but if you're interested in playing a bunch of them over the next few months (along with all the other 60+ games on Ubisoft Plus), then it might be worth considering. Something to keep in mind is that Ubisoft occasionally offers free trials for the service as well.
After Skull & Bones in February, we don't really know much about what's to come on Ubisoft Plus in 2024 aside from the highly-anticipated release of Star Wars Outlaws. For the time being though, it's definitely a fruitful period for the company, and we might just treat ourselves to a month's membership over the Christmas period!
What do you think? Is Ubisoft Plus worth it on Xbox? Let us know down in the comments below.

Nah I'll be alright thanks
I've just subscribed for a month to play Avatar and AC Mirage which was a bargain.
Doubt I will keep the sub active next month though.
Might have to get it for a few months and then canceled. Decent lineup there.
Pretty great their adding newly released games so soon. Motorfest is a pretty decent Horizon clone. No where near the replayability imo but a fun 20 or so hours. May sub for a month once Prince of Persia releases
Certainly looking like it might be worth a month's sub (probably why there isn't a trial anymore).
Seems justified for a month or two if you are a fan of Ubisoft games with that release schedule.
Nah just buy them on sale sometime be far cheaper
Ubisoft games get the steep discounts pretty quickly. I will wait to grab these for $20.
Probably only another month or two for AC Mirage.
I would rather buy them because in the long run, after I have completed let's say avatar and nothing else whilst subscribing just to play call of duty online , I will still be paying for it, especially after subscribing for like 3 years straight, it would cost me short of 500 for that one game.
Gonna sign up when I have the time after the snow season (our house is always chasing snowboarding trips) and run through a few titles and then cancel, cause hey, that’s show biz baby!
Plus I don’t want to give my money to Ubi after canceling Fenix part 2, the bloat of Valhalla, and my skepticism with Mirage
Skull and bones seems to have lot of negativity surrounding it for some time now. But I am legitimately wanting to play and see where it goes.
It's worth noting it also includes all major DLC for their games.
No way never I don't even play Ubisoft games on gamepass haven't been interested since the 360 days samey dull games is all they make
@Kaloudz right? It looks banging.
Erm nah not worth it. Just buy the game and keep it forever. Works out cheaper.
I do like how they give you all the DLC for the sad selection of games they provide. All that value on subpar games
@Kaloudz yeah I'm the same. But I don't finish a game within a month. I take my time with it, and finish in a couple months or so. That's why I like to buy the game I want.
If I had to I would prefer to buy as I never stay with one game all the way to completion and so it is way cheaper to buy than to rent…
I did think about subbing for a month to play Avatar but it's already dropping in price fast £43.85 on Shopto so I'll just wait and buy it cheap.
I don't think I'll get enough 'value' over time with a Ubisoft Subscription personally. If I had a month where I could bang through AC and/or Avatar, I'd still rather just pick them up in a sale in a few months time and play as and when I want and not feel I want to get it done before I have to pay 'more' to keep playing.
Based on my previous decade of gaming, I don't buy more than 1 or 2 Ubisoft games a year at most and as their games drop quickly in price, I can wait until they drop low enough (or come to a Sub service I have) as I am never 'desperate' for something to play that I must play Day 1 and pay the Premium for that. Therefore I won't be Subscribing to Ubisoft+ in the near future.
That's £180 a year that I could easily buy all the Ubisoft games I want to play released that year and play them 5yrs from now if I want...
Played the beta of skull bones hard pass on that 1 ,Mirage good movement awful combat story.Avatar is far cry primal with a avatar skin awful combat and not as good .Crew motorfest and prince im slightly interested in so will just wait till they drop on ubisoft on gamepass im in no rush.
I’ve been quite enjoying Ubisoft’s titles recently. Mario + Rabbids was great last year, The Crew Motorfest is a perfect stop-gap game before we inevitably get Horizon 5, and Avatar is really fun so far and has amazing visuals. Plus, I’m stoked for Star Wars Outlaws next year.
I might just have to give Assassin’s Creed Mirage a chance sometime soon.
Will just buy the games in a sale
Ubisoft, I'm shocked!
Avatar is turning into my personal GOTY over Starfield.
How and why? Not because the story is more interesting, but because the world is even more beautiful and the immersion isn't continually broken by loading screens and fast travelling and talking bobble heads.
@Gollum
Avatar is good, really good
I have been thinking the same thing, if anything I would atleast get a chance to try most of these out.
Is Avatar really that good? Same for Crew. I've heard some pretty negative things about it
The answer is still no.
Like others have said a decent line-up for a 1-2 month subscription. Especially if you don't have much of a backlog to be working on.
The most appealing thing on that list is Far Cry: Pandora.
Skull amd Bones looks like hot garbage, and the others are VERY solid "meh"s.
@FraserG I have a question / bit of feedback: is Hookshot ever likely to retire the "don't use I, use we" rule it imposes on its writers?
It's silly that after all this time, you're still forced to say "we're considering a Ubisoft+ membership". Who's "we"? The entire Pure Xbox staff? Because I seriously doubt that you're all considering getting Ubisoft+, or even that all of you even like or are interested in Ubisoft games at all.
Same goes for reviews. The reviewer will say "we did this" or "we enjoyed that". You didn't all play the game so, again, who's "we"?
@Markatron84 Thanks for your feedback!
As far as I'm aware, there are no plans. It's an established style now that we've been using for years, as have various other outlets in the industry.
We do sometimes change it up though, such as with the Soapbox features which are specifically about personal experiences.
@FraserG it just doesn't make sense to me in a lot of situations. News reports are the only situation where I think it does make sense, because one person might write up a news story which is then followed up and/or elaborated on further by another staff member a day/week/month/whatever down the line, so saying something like "we'll keep you updated" makes sense. But stating that "we" did something seems silly in most cases because, well, you didn't all do something, play something for review, etc 🤷
This is genius! I'm doing it. I was just thinking that I should wait for a sale on PoP even though I am super hyped and now I don't need to. Plus I can play AC Mirage and Crew Motorfest for $18. Sign me up!
Removed - unconstructive feedback
People forget what a movie and a box of popcorn cost these days or something? If there's even a single game on there I want to play, $18 for a months worth of play is nothing and we as gamers are lucky to have this OPTION. Don't like it, don't purchase, and stop crying.
I still haven't played Far Cry 5. I played FC6 + some DLC for a little while around launch (I, uh, got privileged access, don't ask me how)... Should I just skip FC5 then and keep going with 6 now that it is on GP?
Should I keep putting off Immortals Fenyx Rising? Fenix Rysing? Sheesh.
Also, as a closed beta tester for Skull & Bones.... You can put that off, folks. It's okay. But you ain't missing nothing by waiting until it has some more red meat on its bones. It's got an impressive ocean size and nice vistas to sail, though. More than a few upgrades to grind for, but I'm not sure if the actual acts of ship combat and treasure hunting/sailing would withstand the grinder. The game just needs more mechanics — more dimensions of gameplay.
Removed - flaming/arguing
@Gollum huh? Why would you even be subscribing for three years if you're just playing CoD and Avatar?
Yeah reading through these comments time and again paints two different pictures of gamers — sometimes of the same people.
#1. They can't wait
#2 Buy everything on sale
The #1's usually far outnumber the #2's in vocality, but the reality is that most games don't sell well at their full price (why would they? The market is bloated, we're crunched for time, and notoriously penny-pinching). So, like other harmless dichotomies, it's fairer to say that we kinda hover between both operational/philosophical regimes...
I imagine the consumer is measured by a wave function, in which there is a probability of any of us existing at a certain economic state of mind at any one time. Lol.
Just crunch the numbers a bit better for your budgets, folks, and you should be fine no matter how you operate. Basically: don't let the cart lead the horse (there's one person here reliant on previews to determine how much money they're going to spend on MULTIPLE NEW preorder, when it's the amount of PRE-BUDGETED money that determines whether you spend at all).
@Jark Game pass is needed now to play online instead of gold right?
How much did Ubisoft pay you to make this article? The only use of Ubisoft+ is to buy a single month to try out one of their subpar games and move on. No one with common sense should give them $18/month for multiple months
@Gollum oh yeah my bad. Isn't that just Game Pass Core, which is pretty cheap for most people and thus most would forget it's even a factor? Lol
