Re: Soapbox: Tomb Raider Deserves A 'Resident Evil-Style' Remake

Auglicious

For the most part, I'm off the remake train as I'd rather developers focus on sequels and new IPs. That being said, I'm dying for a Parasite Eve remake! That is the only remake I can think of that I would get excited about.
As far as Tomb Raider, the recent trilogy of games was excellent, and I really don't need to see another remake. Think Last of US and Naughty Dog/Sony's blatant cash grab.

Like many others, I'm finally pulling the trigger on Persona 5 Royal. I debated for years buying it, but for some reason never did on PS4 and now that it's on game pass and I simply have no good reason not to. The trouble is I'm an adult with responsibilities and a child's birthday, so I won't get as much time with it as I'd like...

Looks pretty sweet! There have been plenty of indie games that I've played via game pass that I probably never would've played and it looks like this may end up being one of them. Tunic, The Gunk, Beacon Pines, and The Artful Escape immediately come to mind and I've enjoyed them all!

Also Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion...no way I would've played that one without game pass and I loved it!

Re: Xbox's Matt Booty Is 'Excited' To Show The New Fable Game

As soon as my wife saw the teaser for this she declared "we're getting an Xbox!" I've been very happy with that decision, but she is anxiously awaiting this one and I'm looking forward to it as well. I enjoyed Fable 2, Fable 3 was fine enough, but I didn't care much for Fable (Anniversary).

Re: Reaction: Can 343 Industries Deliver On What's Right For Halo?

Halo Infinite was my introduction to the Halo franchise after I was lucky enough to acquire a Series X. I enjoyed the campaign and thought the gameplay was really good. I've never been much of a multiplayer person and the content in the game did little to change my mind. I simply didn't see anything interesting to it. Despite not knowing much about the franchise, I still thought the show was absolute trash and could have been good had it been restricted to a traditional film length and not an episode show. It does seem to me that whomever is running things with the franchise is not doing it justice and there needs to be a massive house-cleaning at the top to fix it.

Re: Talking Point: Did The Series X|S Bring You Back To Xbox? If So, How Come?

Auglicious

Initially my wife and I traded back and forth between the original Xbox and PS2 several times (remember EB games?). I had an Xbox 360 and never owned a PS3. I bought a PS4 after the Dan Mattrick unveil debacle along with the initial mandate of Kinect. I was satisfied with the PS4 so I never saw a reason to get a XBone.

I was able to buy a Series X through Gamestop in a bundle last year after trying for months to get a PS5. I saw value in game pass and it was the primary seller for me. I've been very happy with the Series X and given the decisions Sony has been making the last few years I don't see much reason to get a PS5 at least until the inevitable slim redesign, if at all.

Re: Xbox Boss Praises God Of War Producer Following Dramatic 24 Hours

@GamingFan4Lyf In fairness it is not restricted to the gaming community, it's people on the Internet in general. I'm sure you've seen the meme of Mike Tyson saying that the Internet has made people way to comfortable about saying whatever they want and not getting punched in the face for it. Pretty sad when Mike Tyson is a voice of reason.

It's also the double-standard: gamers want games now, then bitch about incomplete products being released. I'm hoping Microsoft and others are changing things so that studios can complete their work before release.

I only get to play on the weekends, so hopefully get the majority of the way through Tiny Tina's Wonderlands story. Sprinkle in some Assassin's Creed Origins as I try to complete that story as well. I'm looking at The Park for a game that I can maybe complete during the week when my time is limited since the game is on sale and I've been curious for a while.

Re: New Final Fantasy 7 Game Revealed For Xbox, But It's Not 'Remake'

Auglicious

When are 3 parts are completed and eventually released in one big collection it is still possible for an Xbox console to get it, but I doubt it. I breezed through the comments, but I think people are forgetting how tight Square Enix is with Sony and how critical the 2 have been for each other. Sony isn't going to allow Square to publish it anywhere else...they've already backed the money truck up. If the Activision-Blizzard acquisition becomes official, you'll see Sony buy Square Enix. Little doubt in my mind.

Re: Reaction: Credit Where Credit's Due, We Got Plenty Of Gameplay At The Xbox Showcase

Auglicious

Thanks to the internet there will be negativity no matter what. Did I see everything I wanted to see? No. However, I saw things that I didn't know I wanted to see (High on Life) as well as plenty of stuff that looks awesome! If you watch an entire presentation of this type there will be 3-5 things for you and a lot of stuff that simply isn't geared towards you depending on your taste. I thought the show as a whole was fantastic! I don't normally watch these shows when they're live but I did this year and I wasn't disappointed.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2022?

Auglicious

I feel the same way I do with most presentations like this: people are disappointed because they wanted to see a certain thing even though it was never announced in advance. There were some good surprises, some games I had never heard of I want to play now, and some stuff that was just "meh." I thought it was a good showcase overall especially given everything had actual gameplay footage instead of just pre-rendered trailers.
