Welcome to the weekend! We've been treated to a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass additions this week, so there's plenty to enjoy over the next few days if you're a subscriber, while we've also got new Free Play Days titles, along with the usual batch of Xbox Store deals which includes a Warner Bros. Publisher Sale!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, News Editor
I've been playing quite a bit of PowerWash Simulator over the past few days, so I might be just about finished with it for now, although I'd like to maybe dip into some online co-op over the weekend! Elsewhere though, I'm back on my Fall Guys fix at the moment, which has been great to play with friends and family using cross-play in recent weeks.
Oh, and I recently bought Sid Meier's Pirates! recently thanks to some of your comments in our Pick One poll last week. I'd never really given any thought until then, but it looks really good and I'm ready to finally get stuck into it.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Will be playing a lot of games on my newly purchased Series X, such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Cyberpunk 2077 and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Gonna be a lovely time!
Still lost in random. Just finished fourburg, I guess I still have 2 town to do to finish the game since it’s based on a six sided dice.
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge.
This month I've finished quite a few games, including Lost in Random, The Pedestrian and also got all the achievements in Townscraper.
I tried playing Far Cry 5 but I think I played it as a run and gun game rather than stealth. The game itself is confusing. Is it run and gun or is it a stealth game? I've paused my playthrough and uninstalled. Will go back to it at some point later in the future.
I'm going back to playing Mighty Goose, I'm stuck on the final boss so hoping to beat that. Also going back to Trek To Yomi. Going to try and beat it this time. Once both games are done I'm going to start my playthrough of Dead Cells.
On playstation 5 I will be playing Martha is Dead, 2 hours in and it's been pretty good and definitely reccomend playing uncensored. I will also be starting Trails of cold steel 2, I hope this one is shorter than the first as I plan on completing the series before the end of next year on top of everything else that's coming out.
On switch Im going to complete xenoblade chronicles 2 this weekend ready for next game, currently on chapter 10 but still got so many quests to do it's getting tiresome. Once that's done I think il start Rune factory 5, was originally put off by the performance but so many have said it was a good game so il give it another go.
Last night I beat Nightmare of Decay, which was pretty good overall. I think I got the bad ending, but I typically don't care about that sort of thing.
Getting more into Vestaria Saga as I'm about 2/3 of the way through it now.
For me, I’m playing Monster Hunter Rise / Sunbreak. I remember playing it last year and loving it, but I stopped after defeating Magnamalo, and subsequently deleted my save accidentally. What a mistake I made. I’m back at the game, taking my time with it because there’s no rush to get into Sunbreak, and enjoying every minute. I was unaware that the game doesn’t actually begin until after beating Magnamalo.
I’m still kind of confused on the weapon and amulet crafting systems. It’s overwhelming; and I’m not sure if you can upgrade your amulets, or if you have to continually craft more once you obtain better monster parts, and whether or not certain monster parts are better to use than others.
Regardless, I’m slowly figuring things out and I think that’s the beauty of a game like this. Once it clicks, man - there is no other game like it on the market. I’ve never been one of those people who can put hundreds of hours into a game, single player or multiplayer, but now I can see how it’s possible with Monster Hunter and I think I’m ready.
Edit: I did not realize that you are able to unlock Sunbreak via Gathering Hub quests. I’ve been doing nothing but Village quests, so this may take longer than expected. I’m hoping multiplayer isn’t a requirement considering I primarily play solo.
I’m also playing Bayonetta on the Switch in handheld mode. It’s my first time with the series, and it has always intrigued me since its original release but I never played it because I was busy with life. So far, it’s really great. Platinum Games know how to make games with incredible combat. Also, the story and characters are absolutely bonkers. I’m excited to play more to get myself ready for Bayonetta 3.
Duke Nukem Forever on 360 bc between work shifts
I keep buying games ans never finish them.
I recently bought modern warfer for 30dol and the single player campaign is stupendous so far. I will surely finish it over the weeks. The installation process of the game could have been easier though.
Still putting some hours on red dead redemption 2 and route 96 here and there.
I decided to put watchdogs 2 on hold for now.
I'm still playing Mario + Rabbids, After that I'm gonna play either Klonoa or Sonic Origins on Series X..
Playing ac Origins on my Xbox. My 2nd attempt at it, couldn't get into it the first time, didn't like it as much as oddysey and valhalla. 2nd time feels a lot better think the 60 fps patch helps a lot.
On my ps5 I just started night of azure through ps plus extra. An action jrpg, can't say much about it yet though since I just started
Ramming my head against postgame Hollow Knight mostly. Replaying Mario Rabbids a bit as well since I’m getting a bit excited for the sequel.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Working on dailies for the July medals.
Elements: Epic Heroes (Windows Phone) - Kinda stalled on this tbh...
Make It Rain: The Love of Money (Windows Phone) - Playing in bursts still.
@FraserG Sid Meier's Pirates is a great game. I had it on NES and Xbox. Would love to see an article on your thoughts of it after you played it.
With that said here's what I will be playing this weekend.
WWE 2K22 (Xbox Series X) Continuing battling my son in GM Mode. I took Summerslam from him with my awesome main event but I may not be be in thr lead for long as he just signed The Undertaker.
Shredders Revenge (Xbox Series X) Still leaveling up Raph and Casey.
Diablo Immortal (Mobile) Still plugging away at this one when I can.
Dungeon and Dragons (Tabletop) Continuing with my groups trek across the fridge wastes of Eislecross can they make it to some ruins this week?
Child Of Light, Forza Horizon 5 and skull hunting in Halo Infinite.
I've gone for fifa 22 alongside a bit of cleaning in power washer sim. Little addictive to say the least x
I missed a day last week so I’m making it up at work today. Probably some more Little Hope when I get home. Maybe some Power Wash Sim …..gonna play it loose
Been playing Gears 5 for the first time ever on Series X
I've been trying to continue with Biomutant but it's a bit of a slog, I've broken it up with some Fall Guys and Power Wash Simulator
Me and my wife are continuing to strut around the front room with plastic guitars as we work our way through all the old guitar hero games on our recently resurrected PS3! Sad behaviour for an old couple I know, but you get to a certain age and you just dont care any more! 😀
Im also still slowly working my way through Ghostwire Tokyo which is great.
Id like to make time for Road 76 this week and see if it works for me..
Kameo on Gamepass - played through on 360 years ago. 4K 60fps boost for Series X makes it worth a second look.
Still playing lost ruins, just defeated the second boss and got the magical flying meat for my secondary weapons, coupled with artifact that gave me 100% damage to flying weapon, I feels pretty invicible now lol.
I'm finally going to dive into Destiny 2. I've been curious and kicking the tires for years and I'm just going to do it. Also some time playing Assassin's Creed Origins.
Mostly playing Halo Infinite BTB. It’s big silly fun. Most games are enjoyable win or lose. I’ll never get tired of seeing a team of spartans act like worker ants delivering stockpile power seeds to base.
Other than that taking it slow on Power Wash Simulator. The game is a lot slower than my usual PvP multiplayer brain can handle. I find getting the last spots to be tedious even with the hints and show dirt options. Also to clean some sections don’t take a full job to do. It’s sometimes frustratingly inconsistent. I’m still enjoying it though.
@Auglicious stay away from Crucible unless you enjoy being hosed by swetties. Crucible has been ***** since the removal of sbmm
Imho.
@Dusk_Actual thanks for the tip...haha!
