What about RDR2?
@yungGanon Nothing official on RDR 2 yet unfortunately.
Oooft. I'm all over that Metro Exodus revamp when it arrives.
I think The Witcher 3 is the one I’m looking forward to the most. I completed the game and both expansions a few years ago on PS4, and would love to dive back in. I hope they upgrade the dlc as well.
@Nightcrawler71 I actually just started Witcher 3 a couple weeks ago. Once again reminded that I suck at games. I also apparently suck at selecting side quests. 2nd side quest I picked, end up fighting a spider that can one shot me. After trying to not get hit for an hour, I realized that maybe I shouldn't be doing this quest. It wasn't until a few hours after that I noticed that side quests have recommended levels. That one was 33. My poor Witcher may have been level 4.
I’ve been holding off playing any of these games until the updates go live. Call of Duty Balck Ops CW looks great at 120hz in multiplayer. Literal game changer.
I'll check out The Witcher 3 nex gen patch, I finished the main game but didn't touch the DLC yet so looking forward to that..
@BrilliantBill I had GTA V on PS3. I had just finished the main story when the disc drive on my PS3 stopped working. So I didn't spend much time at all on the online and I'm sure there were some side missions I never got around to. There is a high chance I'll pick up GTA V again after it gets an official series x patch.
I've just started playing GTAV again on my new PC and I have to say its incredible at 60fps, I doubt I'll go back to the console version purely because of the mods and the Vice City GTAV mod in particular. It'll still play great on next gen though
I'm interested in the upgraded version of Crash Bandicoot 4, The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Metro Exodus, The Outer Worlds... quite a few 😊.
“Because the Board asked us to make it so. “ 😀 I’ll be waiting to jump back into The outer Worlds for that upgraded dlc.
Just downloaded Witcher 3 on GPU. Guess I’ll wait until it’s optimised. What are the odds that Witcher 3 leaves GPU just as it’s optimised?
@StonyKL it's actually well worth playing now as the Xbox One X enhancement had a performance mode which unlocked both the resolution on framerate. So on Series X it should be 4K60FPS much of the time
Waiting for the updates before playing Witcher III and Cyberpunk. Really hope Wreckfest and Snowrunner get updates too. One of Wreckfest's devs hinted at it, and Snowrunner is still being added to with the seasons.
I just want an update for GTA 5 on Xbox one X & PS4 pro for a better frame rate
@fraserg thanks for this list - hoping you're keeping it updated as we get more news of other games
My Series X is going to be delivered tomorrow just in time to play a few of these as they come out.
Waiting for Doom Eternal, Ghostrunner, Metro Exodus, and Cyberpunk. Plenty of games to tide me over in the meantime
Been waiting on Outer Worlds before I touch the DLC.
Then ESO, and maybe I'll do GTAV depending on how scummy Take-Two decides to be on it.
Terminator resistance gets an enhanced edition. I believe it's a free upgrade as well.
@BlueOcean Doom Eternal and Witcher III upgrades? Sign me up!
@NotoriousWhiz I made the exact same mistake with the spider side mission when I played Witcher 3😆
I bought the Witcher 3 goty for a shockingly low £6.99 in anticipation of the upgrade...I completed the base game on release ...but being goty edition It gives me extra incentive because they are separate achievements aswell
Misread that headline, thought it meant every single Xbox One game was getting some kind of blanket update. I was real excited there for a sec 😂
@Brady1138 I just read it like that as well - I was like how the hell did I miss that?
Another reason I dont regret buying XSX over the PS5
I mentioned previously but I think gems of war will be a series x upgrade
Yeah GTAV isn't a free upgrade
@NotoriousWhiz Haha. The monsters also have levels above their heads. I think they’re colour coded too. Red is bad. And a skull above them means you’re doomed.
@carlos82 Hasn’t been confirmed as not free yet though so TBD is still relevant and it’s possibly free. Rumours point to paid though.
Definitely the Witcher 3. Just finished the main story from the base game and am going to hold out on playing DLCs and the rest of the side quest until the updates come out. Already an amazing looking game though.
Keen for Doom Eternal as well and hoping Cyberpunk wil be GOTY material when it’s all fixed up, have stayed away from all spoilers.
I would like to see Batman Arkham Knight and Ryse: Son of Rome optimized with 4K resolution and it would be a bonus if they could receive 60fps.
@BundyDanger no but it has been implied and I think there's more chance of the Abandoned game actually being Silent Hill then the GTAV upgrade being free
but yeah technically TBD
Witcher 3! I'm already drooling. Playing Metro at the moment and the ray tracing is stunning.
GTA 5 will most definitely not be a free upgrade
Wonder why some of these get the x/s badge and others don’t… any ideas?
The Greedfall retail version says its releasing on June 30th on several different online stores, even though they haven't said anything about it.
I will believe the cyberpunk one when I see it
What was added to this list? Can you put something at the top when this is updated so we know?
Lot to choose from, but I'll say Witcher 3 is the one I've waited to play on next gen
Wasn’t The Outer Worlds going to get a proper Series X/S version? Was the 60 fps on Series X (not S) all we got?
Bought The Witcher 3 some months ago, never having played it before. Hoped the update would come faster. Oh well, game pass it is then.
When is Fortnite getting optimized?
@DonkeyKongBigBoy Fortnite was optimised a while ago. https://www.purexbox.com/news/2020/11/epic_games_reveals_fortnite_improvements_for_xbox_series_xs
So when I look at my games list, the optimized games usually have the X|S mark on the store page or icon, etc., but I don't see those logos for remnant: from the ashes. Is this optimized for series x, but not s?
Waiting for the gtav upgrade to finaly play this game, and same thing for cyberpunk.
@Peach64 Anything to help with 20 hour load times between races.
Gonna wait for next gens GTAV upgrade.
A shame still nothing on an RDR 2 upgrade. Heck, I’d be happy just to get 60 FPS
Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk for me. I'd actually love to see The Witcher 2 enhanced - even just 60fps, but I appreciate that may not be possible.
@PhhhCough It might just be that the "upgrade" was a backwards compatible update to make the game run better on newer systems. When that's the case, Microsoft doesn't classify it as optimised.
I was about to start The Witcher 3 for the first time on Xbox One X but didn't because of the news. My most anticipated optimisation is this. Some games need at least the FPS boost like Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Black Flag and Origins, the latter is coming according to Ubisoft.
The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk are my most anticipated.
I was looking forward to GTA V, but the footage shown looked barely any different, so I'll skip that.
@FraserG Luckily the good thing about RDR2 is how they already enhanced it for the One X, and the Series X can take advantage of those enhancements.
@NotoriousWhiz Honestly the beginning of The Witcher 3 is pretty damn hard to get passed and get fully into the game. The first "boss" The Griffin, can be a real ass whooper for new players. Once you beat that and just play a few more hours you will get into a real rhythm that is so damn fun. N as far as picking the right side quests... You will find out eventually that those job boards of side quests are never ending. So just do convenient ones until you are leveled up proper. You should get a good amount of money, XP and gear from the main missions pretty much.
I did beat the game and expansions but it has been about two years so I could be a bit mistaken on things but that is what I remember
Imagine getting free upgrades… what wizardry is this???!
@fraserg I think 2 games I own are already optimized for Series X|S
1) Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles
2) Warhammer: Chaosbane
Both have NOT Smart Delivery i.e. you have to buy the upgraded version.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@Pigrotto I know for a fact that Warhammer: Chaosbane got an upgrade in 2020 that doesn't use Smart Delivery.
Looking around quickly, it seems Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles was a separate release for next-gen consoles in 2021 that again didn't use Smart Delivery, yeah.
@FraserG Thank you
The Witcher 3 is the one I'm most looking forward to. I completed the game when it first came out, and despite owning the DLC, I have never started them. I was going to play them a while back (in fact I was going to completely restart the game), but then news of the upgrade came out, and so I decided to play the game afresh once it is released. Really hoping for a fresh slate of achievements too...
@Fiendish-Beaver I’m the same I played W3 on Switch and am wanting to replay so may as well go to the other extreme and wait for the Series X upgrade!
Maybe this will finally persuade me to complete Witcher 3. I've started it so many times, then get sidetracked with a different game or petty real-life responsibilities. It's been on my backlog for a long time.
Assassins Creed Odyssey and Origins...both look superb on Series X
Picked up a cheap physical copy of The Witcher 3 in advance for the update. Last time played it on the PS5 with 30FPS (which wasn't bad by any means) so I can't wait to go at it again.
