Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Earliest Xbox Memories?

Auglicious

The first time I played Xbox we bought the original console, Halo, and Star Wars Obi Wan for my buddy as a wedding gift. I remember playing Halo split screen with him the night before his wedding. Got my own Xbox some months later, with my favorite game being NFL 2K. Really wish EA hadn't been "granted" NFL exclusive license.

Re: Here's Everything That Was Revealed At The Xbox Games Showcase 2023

I thought it was a solid show. I wished for more 2023 release dates, but Starfield is looking impressive, and I'll give Forza Motorsport a go when it's released. Avowed looks awesome...just wish it was coming this year. Cautiously optimistic about Star Wars Outlaws (not a big Ubisoft fan). Hellblade 2 looks amazing!

Re: 343 Industries Unveils Official Statement On The Future Of Halo

I don't think Halo leaving 343 is necessarily the answer, anyway. 343 is capable, but it seems from things I've read here and there they are highly disorganized with staff coming/going frequently. What they need is a consistent, smaller team with more focus from leadership.

I saw a mention of Halo going to Activision earlier in the thread. I don't think the acquisition is going to go through as it stands today. I think Activision may be split in order to complete it, with some assets sold elsewhere.

Re: Talking Point: Should Microsoft & 343 Carry On With Halo Infinite?

Auglicious

I'd rather see Halo go to another developer, but I'm afraid the Microsoft dictation to leadership will continue. They won't be allowed full creativity, only focusing on how to monetize as quickly as possible. I enjoyed Infinite's campaign, but seeing the sloppy support for the current multiplayer model is sad to see. Recent news as made things seem more gloomy.

Re: Tunic Publisher 'Concerned' About Subscription Services Like Xbox Game Pass

Auglicious

I think I understand the point he's making, but I've played more than 10 indie titles in the past year that I otherwise would not have played because of game pass. While I know I don't fully know the reimbursement structure, it has to be better than not purchasing or playing the game at all.

There will be an adjustment period in the industry should the subscription service idea continue to grow, but I think it will only make it easier for indie titles to be made as companies look for lower cost games to add to the service, not AAA blockbuster budgets.

Re: Soapbox: Tomb Raider Deserves A 'Resident Evil-Style' Remake

Auglicious

For the most part, I'm off the remake train as I'd rather developers focus on sequels and new IPs. That being said, I'm dying for a Parasite Eve remake! That is the only remake I can think of that I would get excited about.
As far as Tomb Raider, the recent trilogy of games was excellent, and I really don't need to see another remake. Think Last of US and Naughty Dog/Sony's blatant cash grab.
