Welcome to the weekend! We've seen plenty of Xbox Game Pass titles arrive over the past few days, along with Ubisoft's free Roller Champions, and of course there's a massive set of Xbox sales currently live on the Microsoft Store.
Plenty to keep you busy this Saturday and Sunday!
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

There's no doubt that the majority of my time this weekend will be spent playing Sniper Elite 5, which arrived on Xbox Game Pass earlier this week but I haven't had much time to get around to it. We gave it an "excellent" 9/10 review score here at Pure Xbox, so I'm looking forward to personally checking out what it has to offer.
The other game I want to play a bit of is Ubisoft's Roller Champions, which launched as a free-to-play title on Xbox earlier this week to admittedly little fanfare. I played this one all the way back when it was announced, and it seems to have undergone quite a few changes since, so I'm definitely keen to see if it lives up to expectations.

As Stranger Things 4 has officially arrived (no spoilers in the comments, alright?!), I decided to play the Far Cry 6 Stranger Things crossover mission last night and, well, I'm officially back in on FC6! After dropping off with Ubisoft's latest open world shooter a few months back, I think it's about time I got the main story wrapped up, all things considered.
I'll also be trying out a little bit of Sniper Elite 5 to see what all the fuss is about. I enjoyed my time with V2 and 3 way back when, and after largely skipping over 4 and previewing 5, I'm ready to see what Rebellion has delivered with the final product.
Have a good one folks!

Forza Horizon 5
So close to the end of elden ring. Despite still enjoying it a lot I was looking forward to finishing it to try out one of the many other games in looking forward too. But now that I'm closing in on the end I'm suddenly stalling. Feel like I want to stretch it out just a bit longer!
Just started Blood: Fresh Supply. It's fairly difficult almost immediately 😅
I might also start Life is Strange: True Colors and flip back and forth between the two games when I get tired of reloading my saves over and over in Blood.
Edit: I started Tunic instead of LiS, and this game is so good! It might now be my new favorite Zelda-like, and I've played quite a few. I can't praise it enough.
On my Series X I’m playing Sniper elite 5 and Ruined King. On my PS5 Ghost of Tsushima DC.
@Kooky_Daisuke sorry to hear that buddy - hope you're doing OK
@CrazyJF I jumped into this recently and fell in love with it all over again. You have a fun weekend ahead of you!
Im still lost in elden ring, but im over level 250 now and should just take out my last two remaining bosses. I dont want it to end though
Btw.. Immortals is also excellent, just dont be tempted by the dlc, which really doesnt add to the experience. The core game though is great, both myself and my wife completed and loved that one!
On PS5 I've just finished the voice of cards forsaken maiden which was a good game but towards the end it got tedious. Will now fully focus on Elden Ring and Trails of cold steel 1
On switch I will finally compete fire emblem three houses and will then concentrate on getting xenoblade chronicles 2 complete before number 3 comes out. I should also have Rune Factory 5 come today so will give that a play as well
Pacman an Sniper Elite 5. Great aditions to Game Pass!!
I've spent all morning playing Sniper Elite 5. SE4 was one of my favourite games of recent years and 5 is even better. Rebellion have done a superb job with this.
This weekend - though it has been all week - I’ve been on a nostalgic kick, and playing old games from the Xbox 360 era that I never got around to at the time.
The first game I played and finished in a short time is Spec Ops: The Line. I can’t believe I didn’t play this sooner - it is amazing. The story is fantastic, the character development is nicely fleshed out, the pacing was perfect, and the gunplay was very serviceable.
Another title I am playing but haven’t finished yet is Enslaved Odyssey to the West. It’s really great so far, and I can see how The Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn were influenced by this gem.
Lastly, I’m playing a current gen. game that just released day one on Game Pass and that is: Sniper Elite 5. This game is fantastic! I love how it embraces player agency, and the sense of progression is constantly rewarding. The open sandbox maps are a joy to scour and provide tense stealth moments. It harkens back to my love for the first three Splinter Cell games. Moreover, the level of customization for your weapons adds a layer of freedom to play the game in any way and order you see fit. Furthermore, the challenges in the game provide a good sense of replayability as well.
Overall, I think I have a myriad of backward compatible games and a current gen game to keep me busy for months.
Batman Arkham City on 360 and lego star wars the bad levels
Sniper Élite 5 and Flight simulator Maverick.
I'm playing Ori & The Will Of The Wisps..
iStunt 2 (Windows Phone) - I'm just starting this.
Dragon Mania Legends (Windows Phone) - Aiming to finish this finally.
The Great Wobo Escape (Windows Phone) - Also just starting this as well.
@Kooky_Daisuke sorry for your loss
I bought judgment on a recent sale. For some reason, I was never able to finish a yakuza game ever. Yakuza like a dragón I stopped due to difficult spike at a point. So I'm hoping Judgment will be the first one I'm able to finish. So far I like it 👌
I also played a bit of sniper elite 5 , and will continue doing so during the weekend.
Started Sniper Elite 5 on game pass, stealth seems to improved since 4 which was my only criticism. Also playing Death's Door and Destiny 2 Witch Queen
Started ff7 on the Xbox. Never played it before. It's a fun game for what I've played and the dated graphics didn't bother me as much as I think it might. So who knows I might play more older games after this. As a side game I'll be playing some Elder scroll online. I usually have one side game which can be anything from shooters to short gamepass games to stuff like diablo fifa or eso. Keeps me from burn out on my main games.
On my Ps5 I still play Lego Star wars. Pretty relaxing and very funny game. Think I'll get the platinum for that one.
I started Gears of War Ultimate Edition a while back and got drawn into other games since. I'm going to go back and finish that one (hopefully). Adulthood gets in the way a lot...
I just got the shipping notice for my Series X. It’s supposed arrive on June 1. So this weekend I’ll probably just pick away at Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 until then. Also it’s the Monaco Grand Prix and the Indy 500. So I’ll be busy watching racing this weekend.
I'm surprised not having "free play days" this weekend. Is this idea over? I hope not...
Started Nier replicant this week. It has been a slow burner so far and I cannot see it getting as good as automata but to be fair that game really start after credits so let's see...
Tomb Raider Definitive Edition
Rocket league
Dead rising 3
Just got my Xbox series X yesterday. So far I've played MLB the show and floppy knights.
I’ve been messing around in The Division 2 endgame…it’s a good way to keep my hands busy while listening to podcasts. Also soldiering on in my campaign play through of Battlefield Bad Company. The humor really carries the campaign, and the shooting is still pretty good. Keeping the right stick clicked in to sprint though is pretty terrible and archaic as far as mechanics go. I’m gonna have to see if there’s a click-to-sprint option available.
Also started a new game on Cyberpunk 2077. Gonna give it a fair shake now that the game is decent to actually look at. Hyped for the release of Shadowrun Returns!!! Cyberpunk should carry me through until the 21st of next month or whenever that one drops.
Other than that I’m working all weekend to make up a day I missed last week.
@Link41x Do you only play games on your phone, or do you play any console games as well? I’m just curious because I’ve never seen you list a current/last gen game before.
@Kooky_Daisuke So sorry to hear about your dog. If you don’t mind me asking how old are you? Don’t have to be specific, just a ballpark figure. I often wonder how long I’ll be gaming for. I started in my teens (1980’s) I’m now 50 and still love it! (though small text on screen can sometimes be an issue)
@Kooky_Daisuke sorry to hear you aren’t able to get out much. I completely agree about gaming being an escape from reality, that and movies for me, especially over the last few years! As you say, not only is gaming a form of escapism, but also keeps your brain active which can only be good 👍
@Kooky_Daisuke
Sorry to hear about your dog mate.
We lost our family dog after 16 wonderful years last September.
I was extremely upset.
They give you so much love and joy.
Try and think what a great life you gave him.
Hope you’re doing ok.
@BlackMayge I'm just trying to finish my windows phone games before the phone dies on me. I don't have any modern home consoles myself. I mostly have handhelds in my collection.
I'll list out what I got:
Nintendo NES
Game Boy
Super Nintendo
Sony PSX
Nintendo 64
Game Boy Color
PlayStation 2
Game Boy Advance
Windows Phone
PC (for Windows Store games)
Android phone(It is my wifes)
PSP
Vita
Nintendo 3DS
And that is what I'm rolling with nowadays
@Kooky_Daisuke sorry to hear about your dog. It's hard loosing one, they legit become family. Shooting Nazis in the nuts hopefully made you feel a bit better.
Where you from by the way? You in the UK or NA?
@Kooky_Daisuke I'm sorry about your loss, friend. As someone who had to do the same, I feel your pain. And you're right: gaming can be a good way to keep yourself sane, if done right. God bless you, Mr.
I've been playing Sniper Elite 4, and as a first timer in the series, I really recommend it for stealth/action fans. It gives me Dishonored vibes: I always have a plan, which inevitably fails, and then it's just some mad killing fools' time!
I'm taking my time, so when I get to SE5 it will have been updated quite a few times, as games usually get released in rough shape these days.
Mainly been playing the Gears 5 campaign. I had played all the Xbox 360 Gears of War titles on launch day, but after Judgement I lost interest in the series which is a shame since Gears 4 was excellent in my opinion, and Gears 5 so far has been pretty good as well.
It’s not new this month but I downloaded Moonlighter and wow what a game. It’s amazing. It’s just enough like top down zelda and just enough of it’s own thing to be great. Amazing game. Best rouge like/lite out there
