Re: Xbox Is 'Evolving' Rather Than 'Losing' Its Identity, Says Phil Spencer

oopsiezz

"Available on gamepass" or "day one on gamepass" doesn't have as big of an impact as "only available on Xbox & PC" does and i hope Microsoft realizes that sooner rather than later.

We have purchased our games for 20+ years, I go where the games are available and if Xbox games are available elsewhere, and the competitor's games are not available on Xbox, I fail to see why I should stick with Xbox.

Re: Talking Point: Have You Been Tempted To Switch To Xbox Game Pass Standard?

oopsiezz

Gamepass Ultimate used to be worth subscribing to every month but ever since the latest price increase and the introduction of Standard, we have been seeing less and less games each month vs the amount of games being moved over to standard. It's very tempting to start subscribing to Standard and only paying extra for Ultimate when there is a big day one release coming up that I want to play.

Re: Sony's New $320M 'Alliance' Has Left Xbox Fans Breathing A Sigh Of Relief

oopsiezz

@Balaam_ That is exactly what Sony is doing. They have a long history of doing this with many of the companies they have acquired over the years. $320m investment that will see major returns off of Kadokawa's huge portfolio of Anime and video games. Now that they are majority stakeholder they will also be able to influence major decisions, including securing some of Kadowaka's IPs, both video games and anime, for collaborations with Sony's film and anime/film as well as Playstation studios.

Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle 'Glitch' Shows How The Game Would Look In Third-Person

oopsiezz

This game needs more than just 3rd person, Bethesda really needs to do something about how dumb the ai is. I finished Vatican City but could not push myself to continue on through Gizeh because the AI is such a let down. It's almost insulting to ones intelligence how easy the enemies are to not only avoid when sneaking but also the combat leaves much to be desired. Don't get me started on how silly it is that they can't hear you knock someone out with a shovel or sledgehammer and their body goes crashing through some crates or something breaking them in the process and the other AI around "huh, must be the wind."

Re: Xbox Reporter Says That Microsoft 'Won't Have Exclusives Going Forward'

oopsiezz

@themightyant 100% it looks absolutely silly comparing Microsoft as a whole to Sony's gaming division. The fact is Xbox is only a small part of Microsoft and because it's been really struggling, they have been forced to make these sweeping changes to their policies and releasing more games elsewhere to get profits up to make the division within Microsoft look better. Theres simply no other way to put it, Xbox needs to become alot more profitable or Satya will happily shut it down and focus on releasing games instead. This is clear as day but some people still choose to hide behind "but Microsoft is a trillion dollar company". Yes, they are. But what happens to divisions within a trillion dollar company when they don't meet expectations? All the while investing nearly $100b into it over the last 3 years? What we see now is a direct result of spending so much money and expecting their investment to start generating higher profits to make up for it.

Re: Indiana Jones Update 2 Now Live On Xbox, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

oopsiezz

I managed to push myself to finish the Vatican map but I have not touched the game since arriving in Gizeh, the game got so repetitive, I'm tired of sneaking around looking for clues there's just not enough action in the game and the super dumb ai doesn't help. Seriously, do these guys have earplugs shoved deep inside their ear canals and blackout glasses on?

Re: Xbox Appears To Be Getting More Ex-PlayStation Exclusives In 2025

oopsiezz

Sony has no reason to release their first party games on Xbox unfortunately. Playstation is generating over 1/3 of Sony's total revenue and their stock right now is the highest it's been since 2000. In other words, Sony is riding on a ton of momentum right now as their buisness is booming. I suspect these will just be third party games.

Re: Microsoft CEO: 'We Are Redefining What It Means To Be An Xbox Fan'

oopsiezz

Satya is going to make me a Xbox fan.. on Playstation. Their multiplatform strategy of porting to PS should be in full swing by the time the PS6 rolls around and every 6-12 months there will be new Xbox games releasing on the system, that is unless they launch day one like Outer Worlds 2 and Doom Dark Ages.

I never thought the day would come that I skipped new Xbox hardware but the execs at Microsoft are not making it easy to want to continue to support Xbox as a console.

Re: Xbox Reporter Says That Microsoft 'Won't Have Exclusives Going Forward'

oopsiezz

This solidifies that I will NOT be buying any new Xbox hardware there is absolutely no reason to if all their games will be available elsewhere. Why would I buy an Xbox and miss out on all the Playstation exclusives when I could just buy a PS6 and have their games plus Xbox's? I can see the diehard Xbox fans still trying to support the brand but it's on life support at this point and I won't be falling for it.

Re: Roundup: Here Are All The Xbox Reveals From The Game Awards 2024

Another excellent game awards in the books! Man what a show I loved every minute of it. The Orchestra was on point yet again and Snoop Dogg put on an excellent performance as well. 2025 is looking absolutely stacked and then 2026 and beyond has some heavy hitters on the way that just look incredible and I can't wait to play them.

Re: Xbox's Matt Booty Talks PS5 Ports, Explains How The Scheduling Works

oopsiezz

Microsoft really dropped the ball this generation with the Xbox brand in my eyes. They looked poised to come out of the gate swinging after purchasing Bethesda but due to mismanagement and bad PR from games like Redfall and the mixed reception of Starfield, that never really panned out. After spending over eighty billion dollars in the span of just three years, the execs now demand Xbox to become more profitable leading us to where we are now with games once thought to be a red line, never to appear on a competitors platform now are all either being discussed internally or ports have already been worked on and completed. I personally would have MUCH rathered Microsoft spent that eighty plus billion on bringing more games, securing more third party exclusives and improving their development pipeline and management. Now they simply have too many studios and they don't know how to manage them when they couldn't manage the studios they had before.

As an Xbox gamer, I'm pissed Phil dug Xbox into this hole. I bought an Xbox because it had a decent amount of the games I wanted to play exclusive to the console, gamepass was just a bonus. Now however these games are on their way to Playstation and other platforms leading me to wonder why I spent over $600 on a Series X at launch when these games would just be made available to me at some point in the future had i just stuck with a Playstation 5.

I can tell you right here, right now, i don't care if there is another Xbox after this. I'm not going to continue to invest in their consoles unless by some miracle Sony starts porting their games over to Xbox before the next generation starts. In that case having those games plus gamepass would be one heck of a bargain. Helldivers 2 on Xbox would be huge for me and I would buy it again just be able to play it on Xbox instead.

I play Xbox a ton, over 5600 hours this year alone, but if the games rumored to be headed to Playstation are true, such as the Forza Horizon games starting with 5, the next gears etc, that will be where I take my leave from the platform. As I said earlier, I bought Xbox because it was the only place to play these games on console, my preferred way to play. So if they make them available to other consoles I simply don't see the value anymore in owning a Xbox when I could be getting the best Playstation has to offer along with Xbox's over on Playstation.

Re: Xbox's First Indiana Jones Update Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

oopsiezz

I have hit my first game breaking bug. I'm nearly done everything there is to do in Vatican City but there is still a photograph I need to take at the fountain of confession but every time I get close enough and line the shot up my game instantly freezes and crashes to dashboard. I have reloaded my game three times and each time it happens. Guess I won't be getting 100% until another patch.

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

Took the dive and purchased the premium upgrade today. My Xbox is telling me I played five hours before turning it off.

Like the graphics

Like the story so far

Puzzles have been okay, some better than others so far. Nothing too difficult but also solving them is not the most rewarding unless you're going for a 100% run or something.

The gameplay however is exactly what I was worried about after reading reviews. You're not forced to sneak around, but the game certainly let's you know you're not supposed to go around beating up enemies as you get swarmed and overwhelmed by multiple enemies throwing attacks at the same time at you. The melee combat is very repetitive, I must have thrown the same punch a few dozen times and fought enemies that look the exact same as each other (sometimes they all have the same face in an area even!) In my five hour total. That's another thing, there is very little variety in enemies.

The enemy AI is also... very dumb. Even on hard you've got a very generous amount of time to get out of sight before they spot you, like they all have sand / dirt in their eyes or something. Instead of using the rifles on their backs, they decide to run after you when you're spotted to duke it out, when i first experienced this I was like "reallllllly??" You got this gun but you're going to run all the way over to me to throw punches? Lol

This game reminds me of the Thief games with an Indiana Jones paint. The stealth and combat is very alike.

So far I would give the game 5 - 6 but it could get better. I'm not a fan of the repetitiveness though, I couldn't play anymore of it and switched it off.
