We've been browsing the Xbox Lunar New Year Sale looking for discounts on a regular basis over the past few days, and one that you may not clocked onto is Alan Wake 2 - specifically because it includes more than you might expect!
So, the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition is currently 50% off on the Xbox Store, bringing it down to £32.49 / $39.99 as things stand. That's not a bad price for the game on its own, but did you know that it also includes Alan Wake Remastered (the first game) for free as well? Here's the proof as mentioned on the Xbox Store itself:
"Purchase Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition during the Xbox Lunar New Year sale, and download Alan Wake Remastered for free."
Now, there's a caveat to this - some players seemingly can't get it to work. We've seen reports from some who have suggested they were able to download Alan Wake Remastered immediately, while others haven't had any luck:
If you can get past that part, you've now got two games for £32.49 / $39.99, and that's without mentioning the DLC! We've reviewed both the Night Springs and Lake House expansions for Alan Wake 2 here at Pure Xbox, and feel they're well worth playing through - so that makes this bundle even better value!
There are a few other things as well, like a bunch of skins, so yeah... this is a good deal in our book, especially if you've got any Microsoft Rewards points to use on it! But what do you think? Tell us in the comments below.
Have you picked up Alan Wake 2 in the Xbox Lunar New Year Sale? Let us know in the comments.

This is a steal of a deal on a amazing game!!
I have AW2 but the standard version. Would be sweet if AW1 was offered for free since I pre-ordered this game back at launch!
I could never get into this. The whole dreamscape just doesn't grip me in the slightest.
An even better deal would be the base game for cheap. Why would I want the DLC for a a game I have never played before and don't know if I actually like to play? All these sales where the base game isn't on sale but the special editions with all the extras always looks so dumb to me.
@oopsiezz It was on sale all over Christmas / New Year without DLC for £24.99. I'm sure it will be again soon.
Just finishing up AW2 now, really loved that the DLC integrates with the campaign, to me it helps both the DLCs and the campaign.
Slightly peeved that I bought it in the last sale and now they giving away AW-R with it. But hey that's how it works it's not like it's being added to gamepass after I bought it... right...?
@oopsiezz Normally I'd agree with that and this whole "Super Duper Deluxe edition being on sale but the base game isn't" needs to end.
But honestly, I don't think I would have liked the Night Springs DLC anywhere near as much if I hadn't played them as part of the campaign i.e. bought the DLC after finishing the game. They gave me much needed vibe breaks from Alan's section
The first hours of this game are so boring. I wanted to drop it, but I finally got to Alan, so I didn't.
The writing for the chick(Jesse wasn't written like this)is so awful. It reminds me of True Detective season 4. As a fan of the original, I'm disappointed that they prioritized this chick over ALAN WAKE.
