Astrobot for the win 😊
Based solely on Onimusha and Okami world premiers, I have to give it a 10000 out 10.
Aside from the joke that were the awards themselves, solid B.
Ninja Gaiden, Witcher, GoT, RGG.
Cool stuff, just
So. Much. Filler.
I'm shocked. I went in expecting nothing and I came out hyped for like 8 games. I didn't watch the entire show but from the small bits I watched it was pretty enjoyable.
And Astro Bot winning game of the year was great to see. Not just because I loved the game, but I think it'll push developers to make more cartoon-y games based purely on fun... which is right up my alley.
Maybe these shows really can be the E3 replacement I've wanted over the past few years.
My hero of the night was the guy that got the "game changer" award. Loved him.
Appart from that I thought the show had a great start, then I almost fell asleep, but it was better than the previous shows anyway.
The reveals were good but the awards were trash so many awards should have gone to others. the GOTY pick was a deserved W though.
Definitely the best one they’ve ever done. Only like 2 games interested me (Long Dark and Outer Worlds) but it was very entertaining throughout. Great speech by the Larian guy. I think I called every major award correctly.
Honestly better than I expected. I gave it a B. My favorite announcements that I remember were Okami, Ninja Gaiden, Shadow Labyrinth, Team Ico, Virtua Fighter, and Sonic Racing. I would give the show an A if RE9 or Persona 6 was announced and if Echoes of Wisdom was nominated for game of the year over dlc. Astro Bot was the only game that was nominated for the category that I bothered to beat and I would say it deserved the award. It is tied with Echoes of Wisdom for my personal goty.
First time watching I quiet enjoyed it good to see Harrison Ford I will be watching next year for sure congratulations to astro bot 🧡🧡🕹️🎮
And a new TUROK GAME too icing on the cake 🍰 for me 🧡🧡🎮🕹️
Outer Worlds 2 the Capcom and Sega reveals made this an easy B+ for me. Didn't watch it live though, not all of us live in the US😉..
I wish Geoff Keighley would step aside. Cannot stand him, always feel he has a personal agenda with these shows.
So glad Senua finally got some well deserved acknowledgement
A great show. So much better than the proprietary efforts. Having Microsoft emblazon ‘Game Pass Day One’ on things gets tedious quickly. This show was just about games with some entertainment thrown in. The reveals were great. Nobody knew anything about the Elden Ring release 👍
Frankly I agree with the old muppets, it's a game trailer show interrupted by an award show. Thankfully I watched it after it had been on a couple of hours so could fast forward.
Not grading it as I didn't watch it.
There are at least a couple of trailers I will watch later & I did see the Larian Studios boss basically dunking on the entirety of the corporate gaming business machine which was quite entertaining.
So a step up at least from the usual dross that comes from these things normally.
Did not watch it all live so did not vote.
Never been into Outerworlds but that trailer was great for number 2 and looks more my sort of game with more action.
So Outerworlds 2 was the game of the show for me and trailer of the show with actual gameplay.
Why no option for A+? This was the best game awards in years. There was so many great reveals of upcoming games. I haven't felt this optimistic and excited about the next 2-3 years of gaming for a long time.
It's an A. It can't be anything less.
The Awards themselves whatever.
For my personal taste it was a C+. The Witcher 4 was a nice surprise and I was interested in the Mafia game, Outer worlds and Crimson Dawn which I already knew about. I think as an overall show it was a B+.
The Elden Ring co-op<sounds great to me I just hope there's no micro transactions if it is to be a live service game can't wait for the mafia game as well hopefully it's more like the first two games and not the third one looks like a great year coming up for gaming!
They dropped few nice surprises but the most important they were just cut scenes, it s often a false advertisement show, you watch an amazing video and after all the game looks totally different.
Better show than previous years, i will remember it thanks to Harrison Ford and Snoop dogg, i feel insulted from astrobot winning, it s not better than many nintendo games released in over 20 years, and as jury is partially owned by sony, any sony wins for me it s not legit.
I agree astrobot is welldone game and sony knows how to do games, i don't agree with the metod of the game awards to judge, and i feel some conflict of interest in this show
Another show of Geoff Keighley continuing to remind us what is wrong with video game industry personalities.
I just watched the whole thing this morning and thought it was mostly excellent. Yes it was too long again, and they rushed through some of the awards, but other than that it was great.
The sheer number of great games announced was amazing. Over 60 games shown, I am interested in almost half of them including some dream announcements like Okami 2, the return of Onimusha and Intergalactic which oozed style.
@Balaam_ @Balaam_ The ones with the Biggest game Sale Numbers are the real winners.
Only just finished watching it all through. I thought this was an excellent show, some deserving winners of awards and lots of excellent titles to look forwards to for next year.
So many highlights its hard to pick out one or two titles, but seeing them start on Okami 2 made me unexpectedly well up - I must really want a new one! I need more info on Intergalactic, but what I saw I liked a lot. Crimson Desert continues to look fantastic.
Though Hellblade 2 is not my kind of game, it's clearly a work of passion and it was nice to see it pick up awards for performance and audio design. Ninja Theory deserved recognition of their craft.
With Astrobot being my pick for this year, it was great to see it land it's much deserved award. Respect to them for citing nintendo's early games as part of their inspiration.
It was decent. That bad news is you can really see the death of the Xbox console coming.
they gave game of the year to astrobot lol. obviously originality isnt a major factor in the voting. lets see if Nintendo does to astro what they did with palworld.
I never understood why the game awards happen in December. Why not do January, that way games that come out late November/early December would be considered.
OK, so the reveals were fine. Nothing astronomical, but as an awards show this was absolute trash.
F*** the doritopope.
