Re: Hogwarts Legacy To Include 'PlayStation Exclusive Quest'

Sakisa

Annoying practice tbh, though as has been pointed out it won’t change hearts and minds in terms of where people will play Hogwarts Legacy.

As for me, not getting it either way because its Harry Potter and I have opinions on that franchise and the woman who wrote those books.

Re: MultiVersus Season 1 Delayed Ahead Of Official Xbox Unveiling

Sakisa

Eh, take your time, i'm good to just play it for what it is at the moment. This game has completely blindsided me with how much I love it and stolen a lot of time away from Xenoblade 3.

I am an unapologetic Bugs Bunny main, and that is unlikely to change even after he gets hit with nerfs.

Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

Sakisa

@uptownsoul Again, you're not accounting for the overlap in install bases because you don't care to. The numbers don't show that, they show the narrative you've tried to push, including in other posts where you talk about Xboxes sitting on shelves and collecting dust while PS5s fly off the shelves. Don't try and play that install base **** with receipts like that.

Welcome to my ignore list, pony or troll.

Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

Sakisa

@uptownsoul You're either a fanboy operating in bad faith or a troll operating in bad faith.

Yes, you're buying BOTH the Series S/X version and Xbox One version at once, but you're trying to claim that BOTH the ENTIRE install base of the Xbox One, WHICH PEOPLE HAVE UPGRADED FROM TO THE SERIES S/X and the install base of the SERIES S/X COMBINED Outstripping that of the PS5 (no **** sherlock) is proof the Xbox users DON'T BUY GAMES and WOULDN'T BUY AN INDIE GAME IF IT WASN'T ON GAMEPASS WHILE TRYING TO CLAIM GAMES THAT ARE ON GAMEPASS AS PROOF OF SOMETHING TOWARDS THAT!

That's what started this whole thing you attention stirring fanboy! And with that, I don't have the patience to deal with you, your post history tells me what you're about and why you visit this site, to stir trouble.

Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

Sakisa

@uptownsoul Stuff that's on gamepass will not sell as well as stuff that isn't, that's common sense. You made the claim Stray wouldn't sell if it WASN'T on gamepass, so proceeding to list first party Microsoft games that are on gamepass, which is a major selling point for Xbox at this point, is weird.

"----- Same can be said for PlayStation, so that's a wash...Unless...you have linked proof showing a disparity?" The issue is those numbers are tracked together with Xbox, it's two install bases in one that doesn't account for the difference of people who may have upgraded from Xbox One. PS4 does not have that problem, but Xbox One was a lot less successful than the PS4, by large quantities. And even then, notice how low the sales are for PS4, and they're accounted for, and a much, much less successful console in the Xbox One than the PS4 is rolled up into the Series S/X which is by and large considered a step up and course correction from the Xbox One days. That can't be factored in because of the way these numbers are tracked with Microsoft, but it isn't hard to do some thinking and come to that conclusion.

"Please go back to my comment #60...where I showed (with links) that the PS5 versions outsold the PS4 versions too." Again, a lot of people, at least from what I know from where i'm at in the US, are waiting to get a PS5 before they buy next gen versions of games, and don't even have an Xbox.

Again, the only issue I have is you saying that Xbox users don't buy games, when multiplats pull in decent numbers even if not as much as Playstation. No, they're not going to buy games already on gamepass a large part of the time unless on sale or when it's leaving, and first party microsoft games that are gamepass guarantees are going to lose out on upfront sales because of it. But AGAIN, 30% of sales for the new RESIDENT EVIL game when Playstation had a marketing deal with that game is not nothing in terms of overall sales, my issue AGAIN is you claiming Xbox users DON'T BUY GAMES!

Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

Sakisa

@uptownsoul Hey, I provided the example you asked for and tried to say it didn't count, but either way, you also made the claim that Stray wouldn't sell on Xbox if it came to it without gamepass and haven't backed that up, so throw that out too.

I think you're using raw numbers to mask the fact that in tracking install bases for Xbox and keeping the numbers the same, it doesn't account for the fact that a lot of the install base on Series S/X are those same people that bought an Xbox One and upgraded. I sincerely doubt Xbox One is pulling in much at this point.

PS5s are still hard to get, a lot of people are either still playing and buying on their PS4 while waiting to get a PS5 or are holding off on buying the games until they get said PS5, because demand is higher for that console. The Series S on the other hand is very, VERY easy to get these days, and reasonably priced, and Series X also isn't much harder to come by these days. It is also a comparatively much smaller install base on the whole than Playstation. There are factors those charts don't account for, but even with all that, again, 30% is not nothing in terms of sales on a multiplat game. I have issues with the claim that Xbox users don't buy games just because gamepass exists.

Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

Sakisa

@uptownsoul I'm saying that because you asked for a small game that sold well, so I said Death's Door. You then made a claim that it only sold that well because of PC numbers and I asked you to prove that, which you haven't.

It's also curious that Xbox and PC are quite close in percent on Elden Ring, and Xbox is far ahead on Resident Evil Village.

Either way, roughly 30% of sales on a multiplat isn't nothing and honestly proves how tired the 'Xbox users don't buy games' narrative is. A lot more folks care about Playstation, I have no issue with that or caring about that, sales are going to be higher there. Doesn't mean that Xbox players aren't buying games.

Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

Sakisa

@uptownsoul Can you provide the numbers showing how many copies sold on PC and on Xbox? Because this really does seem to be continuing the ‘Xbox users don’t buy games’ narrative that is still tedious at this point.

It was marketed decently well on Xbox and PC, didn’t hit Gamepass initially, and it sold well. Stray is a higher profile indie in the same vein that I’m sure would do fine numbers on Xbox if it doesn’t come to Gamepass.

Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

Sakisa

It’s probably timed. If any indie game is exclusive to something it’s pretty much Switch or PC these days, with Xbox and Playstation doing timed deals.

Makes sense, while in general indies are what I care about more these days (Stray looks more interesting than anything else Sony has been marketing, including Dad of War 2) limiting them to Xbox or Playstation would probably legitimately kneecap sales.

@NEStalgia Rumble in controllers always gets turned off for me, messes with my bum shoulder so dual sense and HD rumble miss me with their supposed revolutionary uses. That does sound pretty neat for people that care though.

Re: Ubisoft Moves To $70 Price Point With Next-Gen-Only Skull & Bones

Sakisa

I definitely agree with a lot of the sentiments in these comments about the $70 pricing being a bit much.

If you can afford it and can self-justify it, you do you. I'm not here to throw shade at 2K, Sony, or anyone for raising the prices, or even anyone that pays those prices. I can only speak for me, and in line with what NEStalgia said, it's one of those things where I start to second guess what i'm willing to spend for video games, with my own costs going up, my particular taste in games being pretty well covered by what's on gamepass, it needs to be something I care A LOT about to spend $70, and there are very, very few games that'd fall under that category.

I do find it amusing that people are treating a special website exclusive limited physical run of Psychonauts 2 as some smoking gun that Microsoft is doing the exact same thing companies that have set $70 as a base price are doing though.

In the context of Ubisoft...yeah, this pirate game ain't gonna cut it for $70. Hell, i'm second guessing buying Sparks of Hope for $60 now with where i'm at and I loved the original Mario + Rabbids so we'll see how this all works out for them.

Re: Psychonauts 2 Physical Version Slated For Xbox This September, Bonuses Included

Sakisa

I'll grab the artbook for sure. I am an absolute sucker for a great artbook, especially one dedicated to the phenomenal world of Psychonauts.

The physical game...it's tempting to get just to display next to my OG Xbox copy of the first, but I really don't buy many physical games anymore for a reason, and especially with living costs going up and getting pickier about games I actually buy, I could probably put it towards something that isn't already readily available on gamepass.

Re: Multiple Yakuza Games Have Been Re-Added To Xbox Game Pass

Sakisa

Such an incredible series that I made sure to buy all the entries of in deep sales while it was all on Gamepass. Worth owning this series.

Like A Dragon is unironically one of my favorite JRPGs and Ichiban reminds me of Sora from Kingdom Hearts but, y’know, written with depth and nuance.

Re: Digital Foundry Host Says Xbox Series X Wins Most Console Comparisons

Sakisa

What I find interesting is that, despite the horsepower difference, I genuinely think the real strength Xbox has (aside from gamepass, which does factor into this) is the AA and indie market being thriving without the limitations of the Switch in terms of power. Gamepass gives you a curated selection of those titles which, as the economy implodes on itself in the US, may become a more appealing option to some people over buying individual games at a premium.

AAA gaming is their weakness, but if you don’t care about that (because as much as it is harped on about, not everyone cares about these kinds of games, I find they run together and lack variety a lot these days) then Xbox has its appeal.

I have a Series X over an S, but in a lot of ways I think the S is the real winner in terms of what I think is the biggest strength they have. A reasonable way to have a solidly powerful console that’ll give easy access to a wide variety of games at an affordable cost.
