During a recent live stream for Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, Inti Creates announced all three entries in the series for Xbox platforms and Microsoft Windows.
The first game, Azure Striker Gunvolt, is out today. It's available for $14.99 USD (or your regional equivalent) but is currently on sale. Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 will follow on 14th July for $19.99 and the third game will be available on Xbox on 2nd August for $29.99.
This 2D action-platform series draws inspiration from Inti Creates' Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX series and even has Keiji Inafune (the artist of the Mega Man series) as the producer.
Are you excited to finally be able to play these games on Xbox? Let us know in the comments.

This was and interesting surprise. It literally shadow dropped.
@Royalblues Please don’t stay a stranger
A little surprised these games weren't already on Xbox in the first place.
I played the first one on my Switch. It's an alright game, but I wasn't a big fan of its focus on replaying stages over and over for materials and score chasing.
@Royalblues I’m pretty sure Sega was the one who forced Atlus to release games on more platforms. If Atlus still had it’s own way it will keep Persona series PlayStation only and SMT series Nintendo. Glad that Sega forced Atlus to release the mainline Persona series on Switch, Xbox and PC.
Now shin Megami Tensei 5 can come to other platforms.
Inti does what Capdon’t
Personally I think Mighty Gunvolt Burst is the best Gunvolt game, the vast number of weapons customisation options are fantastic and the 8-bit aesthetic looks great too.
More games to add to my ever growing list.
Long live 2D games.
I really thought this was already on Xbox. It's a great game, so if it's your first time I hope you love it.
I’m purchasing these right away!
I love 2D platformers, and I feel the need to support these games coming to Xbox. Especially after the sad news about the MM Battle Network collection.
My problem with Gunvolt is every time I've tried it my mind just thinks of Mighty No. 9 and I go into mental shutdown
@Royalblues Surprised to see you're still around!
@Royalblues it’s not baseless speculation though. Sega themselves said they want more of their games to be multiplatform.
As for SMT, Nocturne HD released on PS4 and PC along with Switch but SMT V is a Switch exclusive though. There were leaks of 5 come to PC and PS4 though. I do hope (as a Nintendo guy) that SMT V comes to other platforms.
@NEStalgia you can’t play Gunvolt till you finish Ai Som…. Nirvana.
@mousieone I don't like this timeline. I'm choosing a different route.
@NEStalgia :/ but you’ll never get the true ending.
I'll use the power of dance!
@NEStalgia oh did you beat it?
@mousieone No, not close yet. still chipping away at it a little at a time. I did the purple route, the "Evident" tile before the lock on the pink route, and started into the red route. You still have me nervous about the green route. Psyncin in the Vain is....intense...enough.
@mousieone what does it say about me that my natural solution to Vain apparently took me to the green/annihilation route?
Going to have to redo that to find the red route instead for now.
@NEStalgia I think you might have to do the green route first. And the red route requires a series of different choices. I don’t know there are locks somewhere in places.
@mousieone hmm, so you did green before red? I thought I read somewhere that green is kind of spoilery and provides a lot of info fast where red and yellow first keep you in suspense more.
I'm assuming getting to green/annihilation means I took the ugly choices in psyncing in the vain. Not that many choices don't seem ugly there
@NEStalgia you know I don’t remember I think I did the green route before the final one. I did the Ota route after Mizuki and Ai think he’s red but you know you have to do them all anyway 🤣
Square Enix took my free September now T_T game every month.
@mousieone I looked it up and green is definitely the "b" exit from vain. Which means my natural inclination in the puzzle is the grizzly one. And yours too.
I'm pretty sure red is ota, yellow is mizuki (it's their character clothing colors.). Red is the original line before it branches as well. Pink is, I think the final route? Not sure. That's the "don't believe her" Iris route.
I mostly worry that I read green reveals a lot of info running the mystery faster. I like wondering what's going on.
Haha diofield? I hadn't even followed that. This is a dead year for Western games but for weebs it's the most packed year since the PS2..... I can't keep up....
My September belongs to Splatoon though. It's the only online shooter I've played since quake 1 buy it consumes me every time....
@NEStalgia well I have seen one too many HLN show…
I don’t know the order you do things in lol just want the colors lead to. Green leads to doom. But also my favorite Boss/Date moment.
Yup Diofield. And yes it’s super weeb year. Love it. My wallet no :/
I don’t play online squad shooters ^^; that would mean talking to other people and no thank you…
@mousieone I know, people complain about no games and I'm thinking of how many months I can't eat...
No talking in Splatoon. That's why it's the only one I play
@NEStalgia and many of those Weeb games are hitting Xbox which blows my mind. But again we have no games we have nothing to play o.O well Unless MS actually decides to make a new entry in one of their Japanese IPs; it’s third party for that platform. And honestly I’m happy. I’m a bit bummed about DQ treasures but I mean the Switch gets lonely so meh it’s all good. I’m just waiting on my CE for Nirvana.
@mousieone I still haven't decided if nirvana will be xb or switch for me. Switch is just so good for VNs. But I hate not continuing on xb. I've decided p5 will be xb though. But 3 and 4 are switch. I finally went back into TCS3 on switch. I was going to do it on ps but a game like that I'll never get through if it's not handheld.
It's been a while. I freaked out when I realized Juna is Aiba 😂
It's not like Sony does weeb stuff anymore either. Except ff. And the new ff doesn't look that weeb friendly ATM.....
@NEStalgia I think I’ve stated how I’m playing persona games a Nirvana is Xbox.
It feels weird to want a more varied selection of games like Gunvolt or Ai Somnium on Xbox, but not buy them there. For me I have to look at how experience will work for me.
Some games like DQ Builders 2 just sound awful on Switch, and other games well handheld.
I bought Witcher 3 on Switch because it’s like TCS3, and I’m more likely to finish there maybe but then I stopped DQ11s on Switch shortly after starting it >.<
@mousieone Yeah it's a hard choice in some regards. I want more variety on xb, but so many games like gunvolt and ai som benefit from handheld play or don't benefit from power features. Xb kinda gives handheld play though with my streaming series s, tough I still need a better streaming client device that doesn't break the bank. Using a $1k phone plus a $300 console to simulate a switch isn't a super nice setup . I don't even have a headphone port.
P5, star ocean is definitely xb. Crisis core.....idk but probably xb even though it breaks up the series. Gunvolt I already got on switch years ago, so that's not a worry. Arise was xb. Danganronpa was ps years ago but I never played them and rebought on switch. Nonary/zero escape I discovered is on gp and not on switch so easy call there.
Ai som2, undecided. Started on xb gp. Bought 1 on switch on sale to have but my save is on xb. VN is the one genre not hindered by switch hardware.
You know I never played a psxb release of dqb. I played 1 on switch and just continued 2 on switch. It's a game I really wanted handheld. But with S streaming... Maybe I'd have changed my opinion. It didn't run great on switch. It was ok though. Fond memories.
@NEStalgia what happened to your Series X? I know you had some issues but I thought MS repaired it?
@mousieone Oh, yeah, that's repaired, (or replaced with a scratched up replica?) I just meant having handheld access to games. I set the S I bought as a spare when the x was down to use as a streaming server. It's like xcloud but with quick resume and plays all my games... More switch like. But the handheld side .... A phone is expensive and smaller than switchs screen.
Handheld is essential. I was one of the 5 people hyped for wiiu...... And vita PS4 remote play
@NEStalgia ah gotcha. Sorry My copy of Nirvana came and started with a quiz show ^____^
@mousieone LOL!
The only thing about streaming on the S is, every few days it'll just stop responding to remote play/remote-on requests until I manually turn it on. It's obviously a bug of some kind, that they just aren't fixing. I tried setting the auto-power-off to 2 hours, instead of 1, and I swear it'll fail to power on within 15 minutes, so remote play behaves differently than manual on. In fact, during remote play, it doesn't turn the console front light on or play the on/off sound either, so it's a separate mode that must not actually stay on after you disconnect regardless.
Btw, you were right about the twist dropped at the end of the Ota route. I've finished purple (delusional) and red (Ota) now.....and I still have no idea what's actually going on....amazing how they keep the mystery going. But that was certainly a bombshell. Or number of bombshells... wow.
I have one far fetched theory going on, but even that barely makes sense in my head. Yellow (Mizuki) next, then....honestly I'm apprehensive about green (annihilation)....from what you described I kinda wish I didn't have to play it
@NEStalgia oh yeah; my S does that all the time without remote play. It’s less likely though. I never tied it in but it could be the always on mode.
Well until you get to green; most of the story is kind of not there. The biggest spoilers really start there. Yellow doesn’t have too much about Iris. Although it does have information about the killer in it. Pay close attention to what people say in fight scenes
The resolution route will fix the annihilating route. Although a part of me loves that route as well.
@mousieone I've seen sometimes, when it's in that state that it won't turn on remotely and has the "try again later" that 10 minutes or so later the machine actually turns on, but goes into the full on mode with the light active, which it normally wouldn't do for remote play. It's weird. They definitely have power state issues with WoL. IDK how they haven't fixed it yet.
The storytelling is definitely oddly paced. I prefer it where it has tons of mystery for most of the game, so I'm glad they did it that way, that's why I didn't want to play green until I have to...then you got me nervous to play it Heck even in red, I'm shocked I haven't had nightmares from the vase yet......
