Honestly not great. The only good thing that came out of it which we didn't previously know about is that The Walking Dead TellTale Final Season will be coming to Game Pass.
Wasn’t able to watch but sounds like it was uneventful. Bring on TGS!!!
I'm at a loss for words. These games seem like they would be perfect for mobile gaming. Beyond disappointed with this, especially compared to Sony's recent State of Play.
@gollumb82 This is literally just supposed to be an indie showcase. You can’t compare the two.
If you want something comparable, try Microsoft’s TGS presentation TOMORROW.
That was a HUGE waste of time... A lot of it we already knew about and the dev interviews were incredibly long and awkward... No big sendoff announcement neither.
Have to admit I only managed half an hour of it and switched off. The conversation between the presenter and the fishing game guy was really awkward.
@Kaloudz Again, Microsoft’s comparable “slot” will be its TGS presentation.
People comparing this to Sony’s State of Play are comparing apples to oranges. Wait until tomorrow to make that comparison. Fingers crossed Microsoft comes through.
Maybe MS would have been better off scheduling this another time and let the TGS show speak for them this week.
They really need to change the format and move from hosting, interview, chatting stuff to just games. Info graphic + gameplay. Nintendo and Sony have it nailed down, just copy their blueprint.
These just become so boring and long, with maybe 15 mins of interesting content stretched over hours..
Turnip Boy GOTY
Turnip Boy Robs A Bank looked legit, not even being funny. I cannot wait for that! Ghostbusters looked solid too, but that's it. Didn't expect much more knowing how much tat gets shown off at these events, I do typically just put on Id@xbox showcases for a bit of background noise. Although my main gripe was that this show felt like it was barely able to cover more ground than Sony handled in 1/9th of today's runtime at last nights SoP. It only felt like a handful of games got shown earlier and only a couple things had something about them. Objectively the show was a fail, can't deny that. Oh well, roll on the main event tomorrow!
After a stellar Direct (seriously, Zelda, FE, Pikmin, and Kirby all in one Direct? How spoiled are Nintendo gamers already in 2023?) and a State of Play that appealed to many gamers, Xbox managed to slog a big, bloated ball of blah. Sometimes I’m baffled by the marketing departments of these companies.
Who at Microsoft thought this event was worth two hours? This was a sizzle reel caliber event with some interviews tossed in to buffer it’s time.
B given the context of an indie showcase.
How do people not know what to expect from these by now?
@somnambulance Nintendo direct isn't the same as ID@Xbox. While it wasn't a good show, Nindies would've been a more accurate comparison.
@Trmn8r Even so, Nindie presentations are typically short and sweet. ID@Xbox was maddeningly long. The titles were low profile enough to the point where a simple tweet probably would’ve been more appropriate for 90-95% of these titles.
terrible and uninteresting games
