It's time for another round of Pick One! This week, to celebrate the upcoming release of Deathloop on Xbox Game Pass next Tuesday, we thought we'd take a look back at the complete list of Arkane games on Xbox to date!
Arkane Studios is, of course, part of the ZeniMax Media (Bethesda) group, and has produced some outstanding titles on Xbox over the past decade. But which is your favourite?
Remember, you can only pick one!
Let's take a look at what we're working with:
Arx Fatalis (2003)
This critically acclaimed first-person RPG from Arkane Studios takes the player on an amazing journey into the fantasy world of Arx. Arx is wrought with turmoil, brought to the brink of destruction by a violent war.
Dark Messiah Of Might And Magic (2008)
Discover a new breed of Action-RPG game powered by an enhanced version of the Source™ Engine by Valve. Set in the Might & Magic® universe, players will experience ferocious combat in a dark and immersive fantasy environment. Swords, Stealth, Sorcery. Choose your way to kill.
Dishonored (2012)
Dishonored is an immersive first-person action game that casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. With Dishonored’s flexible combat system, creatively eliminate your targets as you combine the supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal.
Dishonored 2 (2016)
Reprise your role as a supernatural assassin in Dishonored 2. Declared a “masterpiece” by Eurogamer and hailed “a must-play revenge tale” by Game Informer, Dishonored 2 is the follow up to Arkane’s 1st-person action blockbuster & winner of 100+ 'Game of the Year' awards, Dishonored.
Prey (2017)
In Prey, you awaken aboard Talos I, a space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032. You are the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever – but things have gone terribly wrong. The space station has been overrun by hostile aliens and you are now being hunted.
Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider (2017)
From the award-winning developers at Arkane® Studios comes Dishonored®: Death of the Outsider, the next standalone adventure in the critically-acclaimed Dishonored® series.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood (2019)
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is the first modern co-op Wolfenstein adventure. Team up with a friend or play solo as one of BJ Blazkowicz’s twin daughters and wield a powerful arsenal of new weapons, gadgets, and abilities to liberate Paris from the Nazis.

Ok…..who voted for Youngblood??!!
Prey, because it's the only one I've played so far 😜 actually, I'm only through the prologue but I like it a lot already. I will, however, definitely play Dishonored 1 and 2 in the near future.
It's a shame Dark Messiah Of Might And Magic isn't backwards-compatible. And it's also a shame a "demake" of Prey (my favourite Arkane title) wasn't released as a side-scrolling, 16-bit "metroidvania".
Dark Messiah. Was pretty cool!
D2, but me hoping it will be Redfall next year.
The correct answer is: all of them.
Prey without a doubt for me, the story was good, the guns and gunplay was great and the shape-shifting creatures and the zero G was epic. I really enjoyed it and I wish Microsoft would pull the trigger on a 2nd one.
Hands down, it’s Prey for me. The level design was absolutely fantastic, and on par with, and maybe even better than the interconnecting maps in Dark Souls/Bloodborne.
Love all of them, D1, D2, Prey and Wolfenstein Youngblood, idk why everyone hates on that last one, the weapon customization and perks personalization on it is awesome, it has the Arkane DNA all over it, can't wait for Deathloop and Redfall. Love all Bethesda Studios and Arkane, MachineGames and Tango in particular
No please, don't do this to me! How can I choose only one? Lol
I picked Dishonored 2 but it was a tough choice. I got into their games only about a year ago, but Arkane is easily one of my favorite devs at this point. I own but have yet to play AF and DM - I wanted to try Ultima Underworld and its sequel first.
Youngblood is higher than Dark Messiah??? I don't want to live on this planet anymore...
Deathloop is mine lol
I've finished Dishonored mutiple times and in different styles. From pure carnage to complete pacifist run all were super fun and very different. It has to be my number 1 pick. I absolutely love Dishonored 2 and Prey too. My ranks would be...
1. Dishonored
2 Prey
3 Dishonored 2
I'm really hoping Deathloop is going to be my jam.
@Dusk_Actual Young Blood is really fun co-op. But yeah it's no Dishonored or Prey
It for sure has some of the level design elements Arkane are known for and I suspect this was their major input to the game. The shooting and gameplay were no doubt all Machine Games thing.
I know it took alot of flak for being a different from the other Wolfenstein games but Im still glad it exists, i liked it.
Tough call between dishonored 2 and prey.
I gotta say it's a weird situation. I played many many hours of both and got to the ending though I never got to finish them for some reason.
I saw the ending on YouTube.. I'm gonna vote for dishonored 2 cause of the time loop level which I still think of to this day
Can't wait to try deathloop though
Dark Messiah is the only Arkane game I've played. And that's not going to be changing any time soon.
@Chuffer honestly if I’d have been able to find a partner for co-op I might’ve had a different opinion of it. Even at that though I’d never be able to pick it over Dishonored. Too much fun was had there 😃
Dark messiah is my favourite and I've played them all. Weird west was great too once it got updated a few times.
Preys getting alot more love than i expected and rightfully so in my opinion a fantastic immersive sim and the dlc mooncrash was the blueprint for deathloop which critics raved about despite it not being as good as mooncrash critics once again are a joke
Dishonered 2 and Prey are my picks and both of them are much better games than deathloop, which is seriously over rated imo.
Im glad its finally coming on xbox, but I dont think you guys missed anything despite the press over-rating it.
Prey is not only best game from Arkane. It is best game of last generation.
Dishonoured is one of the greatest free games I have ever got. It is superb.
Dishonored. One of the games of the generation. Although the sequel did many things better the first game was more cohesive. I find it one of the most replayable games I own. Taking different routes, using different powers, the more you know an area the more options there are. Plus the Story DLC (Knife of Dunwall & Brigmore Witches) are some of the best examples of story DLC done right. They add to the story without making the original feel it was missing anything and change the gameplay up subtly to keep it fresh. Masterful all round. Sequel very good but can't quite hit the same heights despite improvements to many of it's core mechanics and some truly wonderful level design, it's less balanced.
Prey is a Sci-Fi masterpiece too that is sadly underplayed by the wider audience. Great to see it scoring so highly here though.
So far I have only played Dishonored but I really liked it. Definitely will keep playing others (not prey because i don't like any type of horror)
Prey was one of those Games I'll remember set-pieces from for years...muscle memory to certain level designs, with huge fondness, and an ending that stuck the landing and then some. Dishonored 1 is fantastic also, 2 I need to retry on Xbox I feel...
The Dishonored games will always have a place in my favourite games ever list.
Dishonored 2 for me. I really have to get back to that someday. I haven't done too much with Deathloop yet, but what I have done with it, it's still a crazy and fun sandbox....but.....it does also have some issues. I spent too many tries trying to make my way early on through a few areas only to always be discovered by robocop patrols. It's like Watch Dogs 1 syndrome sometimes.
