Re: Review: Still Wakes The Deep (Xbox) - Nautical Narrative Adventure Perfect For Xbox Game Pass

carlos82

@Kezelpaso Gamepass revies are incredibly relevant, not everyone subscribes to it and I often visit other sites even if I don't play on those platforms. Plus even as a Gamepass subscriber, it's unrealistic to download every game that comes out, I simply don't have the time.

In any case, good review and I am going to try this, as whilst I didn't enjoy Hellblade 2 I do enjoy a good walking simulator from time to time

Re: Joanna Dark Actor 'Crazy Excited' To Lead Xbox's Perfect Dark Reboot

carlos82

Perfect Dark on the N64 is one of my favourite games and this is looking like a great successor from what we've seen so far and I like the character model and a good choce of voice actress too. It's a shame about certain people online who are weirdly offended by real women existing in games such as this and Fable but personally I can't wait for both games

Re: Phil Spencer Explains Why DOOM: The Dark Ages Is Releasing On PS5

carlos82

Doom was a game I always expected to remain multi platform with how he initially talked about the acquisition and as @BAMozzy says, the advantage for me on Xbox is I can play it on my console or PC with one purchase/sub with cross save, where as Playstation they're all seperate. This is why I buy so few games on Playstation these days

Re: DOOM: The Dark Ages Confirmed As A Day One PS5 Release In 2025

Doom was already multiplatform and the suggestions since the acquisition were always that it was likely to remain that way. I'm glad it has even if I'll be playing on Xbox as it should be available to a wider audience, it's also pretty telling that Bethesda is referred to outside of Xbox Studios

Re: DOOM: The Dark Ages To Be Announced At Xbox's Showcase, Claims New 'Exclusive'

carlos82

@Jenkinss @dskatter ever since they bought Bethesda there's been mixed messaging but there had been suggestions that some games wouldn't be exclusive and Doom is an obvious candidate to keep multiplatform.

Spencer did mention that “even in the future there might be things that have contractual things, or legacy on different platforms that we’ll go do,”

There's also other quotes where he says "some games will be exclusive" when referring to the acquisition

Re: Talking Point: What Convinced You To Pick Xbox In The First Place?

carlos82

Back on the original Xbox it was largely good support from Sega with games like Panzer Dragoon, plus they'd just bought RARE so I was excited to see where that would go (as it turned out, nowhere for a long time).

I dabbled with 360 and Xbox One without playing too much but got the Series X largely because I'm a huge Bethesda fan (including other Zenimax studios), plus as I was also moving to PC, the ease of cross buy/save was appealing. Oh and it's backwards compatibility is a huge selling point for me, with Daytona USA, the excellent version of the Streets of Rage Trilogy and many, many more classics only available on Xbox Series today

Re: Xbox Exec Provides Reasoning Behind Bethesda Studio Closures

carlos82

It's comical of Xbox trying to restructure Bethesda when their own gaming output has been a mess for a decade. I'm not calling for other studios to be shut but 343 have buried Halo and Turn 10 put out the farce that is is Forza Motorsport.

We need games like Hi-Fi Rush and the creativity shown in Prey, focusing only on the so called biggest games will not be of benefit to anyone, look at Sony who have very little announced after doing something similar with the likes of Japan Studio

Re: Fallout 76 Is Enjoying A Resurgence On Xbox Series X|S Right Now

carlos82

I only played back around the launch period when it basically had no content in it, quite why they thought it was a good idea to launch it with no NPC's is baffling.

I started replaying Fallout 4 a week or so ago in preparation for the huge upcoming Fallout London mod and may give 76 another go at some point
