So many to choose from my little brain hurts
Good positive time to be an Xbox fan or gamer in general !
I’m looking forward to fable and gears of war.
I’d like to say MGS, but I still don’t trust Konami.
Honestly, Life is Strange: Double Exposure was the biggest one for me. I had no idea it was coming and I love the series. I preordered as soon as I could.
As far as Gamepass related things go, it’s really hard to pick between Indiana Jones, Fable, and South of Midnight. Honestly 2025 looks to be the year I finally use my Xbox consistently throughout the year. Sure, Nintendo’s got Metroid 4 and PlayStation’s got Death Stranding 2, which are both more exciting to me than the obvious 2025 (GTA6) or the Xbox titles, but it truly looks like Gamepass will be filling the gaps in all the right ways and honestly I can see Xbox being my most used platform next year, given that incredible line-up.
Also, honestly, this is the most interesting Flight Sim has ever looked to me.
Fable probably but plenty of interesting titles
I’d probably have said Gears of War if we saw actual gameplay and a release year. But since we didn’t see either of those, it’s hard for me to be hyped. So Indiana Jones it is.
The future of Xbox as a platform and Game Pass as a subscription service is brighter than ever before. This is the best position I've ever seen Xbox in: Perfect Dark looks awesome and old-school in gameplay terms, Gears of War E-Day is exactly what I was hoping for, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a perfect addition and a clever IP choice, Doom The Dark Ages after one of the best shooters ever that Eternal is... On top of that, there is Assassin's Creed Shadows and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. I'm relieved that Square Enix games are officially multiplatform now. Special mention to State of Decay 3, the second game is one of the most enjoyable games out there, in spite of launching in a rough state. Only thing that is missing is more Rare IPs, but after Killer Instinct, Battletoads and Perfect Dark, I assume that they're slowly coming, after all. Xbox being my main gaming platform, I couldn't be more satisfied.
There are quite a few I'm really excited for but Doom would have to be top of that list, I'm a big fps fan and Dok is at the top of that particular tree.
Others I'm looking forward to include Perfect Dark, Fable and Indiana Jones
As huge fan, I voted for Fable but there are so many other games I'm super excited for i.e; Perfect Dark, South of Midnight, SOD 3, Indy, Avowed and this are just from XGS. Then there's Expedition 33, Mixtape, the foreseeable future looks pretty stacked 👌.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, but Star Wars and Expedition 33 are close too.
Plenty to look forward to, but the new Life is Strange game was a big surprise, I very much enjoy the series and wasn’t aware a new one was imminent.
Chose Avowed… releasing soon, and can’t be sure that some of the others won’t be cancelled lol.
I'm a big fan of Doom and SoD series so I'm looking forward to both. And also so many games to look forward to I don't think I'll have the time to play it all. Fable, Perfect Dark, Avowed and Indy all are looking really amazing too
@Mustoe
I haven’t bought a new game yet this year.
Then again I have game pass.
I might get outlaws and AC shall wait and see.
Depends when Avowed and Indy turn up.
most excited for avowed based on how much i like outer worlds and stalker 2 cause its close(i hope). atomfall is a nice surprise.
@Mustoe
Everyone plays differently.
Games pass suits me as I have about three games on the go at once of different types.
Depending on my gaming mood.
1. Civilization 7 (not at xbox show but confirmed for xbox)
2. Indy
3. Doom
4. Fable
5. Perfect dark
6. Gears
Lots of promising games but if you grew up with Indy then it's a no brainer plus Machine Games know what they're doing. I'm personally happy with the third/first person combination of gameplay.
Even though it's a long time away it would have to be gears besides that probably fable don't think Indiana Jones is going to be that great from what I have seen so far
So many great choices but for it has to be the one the surprised me and made me fist pump for the first time in a long while…Expedition 33! Here is hoping it triggers interest for other turn based jrpgs. Penny Blood i will mention as they are looking for a publisher here is hoping the excitement over Expedition 33 helps them find one!
Expedition 33 stole the show for me. It wasn't even close with anything else.
@YourNameHere I think you can be sure about none of them being cancelled. All that I have seen in the Phil era is games getting to Xbox if they can and helping games get to Gamepass if they warrant it. I think they have earned a level of trust which make us excited that if it was shown at the Sumner showcase then it will be done…
Being Frank? It’s nigh impossible to choose lmao. Waaaaaay too many goats. The Indiana game looks goty, the AC shadow looks goty, perfect dark, fable gears, starfield, stalker 2 and holy cow snake eater!! My Xbox is gonna EXPLODE.
State of decay 3 and fable. Fable topped it as could be amazing if it’s done right. Will play black ops also and doom. So many actually
I've enjoyed all dragon age games so kinda looking forward to it. Also AoM and Fable
I don't know...
There's a bunch that I'm really excited for but for different reasons.
Expedition 33 stood out for its presentation.
I can't wait to see how State of Decay evolves with 3.
Perfect Dark looks like a hi-tech Dishonoured.
Atomfall is intriguing, I suspect its more Bioshock and Fallout.
Mixtape looks interesting (assuming I get to skateboard)
And so on, there's no one that makes me wish I could play it before the others.
I do however remain slightly concerned about Indy. That cinematic was great but if all them are that long... it's very MGS4 Kojima.
Gears by miles for me, I'm not a fan of prequels under normal circumstances but for them to unfu** this series by abandoning gears: the next generation time skip and go back to Marcus (and good lord, Dom) is such a giant ballsack move that I didnt think anyone at current Microsoft was remotely capable of.
Doom looks phenomenal but it's bittersweet because it's a clear sign we will never get a Quake 1 reboot, they cannibalized it for this.
Gears of War for me, though I think it will be a neXt box launch title, so we are probably looking at 2026 before we see it. I think, though, that there is a real possibility that people will perhaps be slightly disappointed with the game, particularly so if they have not thought through which characters it will feature, because unless there is a parallel campaign featuring Baird and Cole, we will not be seeing anything of them in E-Day, as the quartet does not meet for the first time until 14 years later.
I'm still very much looking forward to the game, but I think a lot of people are overlooking the restrictions placed on E-Day by the events of the original trilogy and Judgement in particular, and that could affect how they feel about the finished product...
Had to go with Gears E Day.
I also thought Mixtape looked like a good time.
I just can't decide. I'd love to play them all
Perfect Dark. Very interested to see where they take it. Followed by Metal Gear Solid.
Expedition 33
I wanted to like South of Midnight, but man that combat was weak. I hope they add some weight and oomph to those moves, because that looked like a plastic bag smacking up against the side of a building, for all the impact her moves had.
Expedition 33 I think is my personal standout winner. I do hope Perfect Dark is good but I need to see more.
1. Gears of War: E-Day
2. DOOM: The Dark Ages
3. Perfect Dark
4. Indiana Jones
There's a new Doom game announced, what kind of question is that? Lol
Interesting results. Doom looked fair. PD, Indy, Avowed as well. The rest were fine.
Honestly if it weren't for only Steam World Heist 2 I'd say South of Midnight long time since cared about a n action adventure game as most go for RPG life elements and I don't care about them I know a hard trend to ignore these days.
To me it had Kena vibes and that's fair.
Otherwise the rest are solid or passable. I mean sure the other Xbox notable IPs are there but I haven't been that excited for their return. It's the same with OG/360 I care more these days about the gems on those platforms or 3rd parties I can get on old gen then the eh of current gen game design being so boring with eh worlds/stories and themes I just bypass then I do the major system games continuation of those series with new entries. Because I don't love those IPs, they are good but I don't replay them nor am I bursting for a new one. I think it's good they are coming back but the treatment of the IPs also is why I'm not excited I've seen worse and expecting the worst of content handling and gameplay for these even if some were passable or tolerable of good then others in the past.
Doom looks incredible and I'm intrigued by Fable, but I'd be lying if I said I had any interest in Gears...and Indy somehow ended up looking worse in action than the reveal trailer let on. I trust MachineGames implicitly, but I genuinely do not think that game is going to move the needle at all.
It was a good showcase, easily the best Xbox has had in years, but the only game that screamed MUST PLAY, at least to me, was South of Midnight and I'm increasingly both disappointed and annoyed at how little attention it's getting.
Everyone talks a big game about wanting new IP and experimentation but, when it comes down to it, the stuff that gets the biggest pops are the safe, comfortable, known quantities.
Loved the look of a lot of these but I went with perfect dark just because it was much better looking than I was expecting.
That's a pretty good list. Fable is the game I'm most interested in playing, I thought the first two Fables were great (Fable 3 not so much) but I'm not optimistic. Expedition 33 looks promising though.
I chose Perfect Dark - really because I think it probably surprised me most after hearing stories of troubles. Actually seeing a slice of Game-play and it looking pretty good was perhaps the biggest surprise.
I could have voted for E-Day too as its setting was a big surprise, or one of the games coming this year which I'm more excited for right now but only because they are 'nearly' ready, nearly time for me to play. Fable too is really impressing and Doom looks like fun.
South of Midnight gave me mixed opinions - the animation in Cut Scenes looked terrible, very stuttery/low frame rate, but then the game-play looked much smoother - but overall more interested than I was before the show.
I don't really think there was one 'standout' for me - there were many and I was excited by the Future because of a Strong show. Even the rest of 2024 looks 'strong' let alone considering games coming beyond to be excited for...
Avowed is my most anticipated game that's in the near term. Longer term are Perfect Dark, Fable and Doom: The Dark Ages. South of Midnight also looked pretty interesting.
First game that came up to mind was Indiana Jones, and upon further inspection of the entire list it’s definitely Indy, looks amazing in every way plus it comes out this year.
Even tho they look great is harder to be hyped about games that don’t even have a release year like Gears of War or Perfect Dark, otherwise both would’ve been my choices.
Hello there fellow gamers.
There were some very nice games in the Xbox Showcase, but my number one has to be Expedition 33.
It looked absolutly amazing, in both presentation and combat. Good to see more turned based rpgs being made.
The other games I´m interested are:
So many games, so little time to enjoy them.
Probably one of the best problems to have as a gamer.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming
Doom.
I think Gears is pretty middling. It would be really funny to see everyday citizens around the world, before eday. I'm assuming they're all giant slabs of meat.
South of Midnight looked like a watch through more than a play for me. The combat looked super rough, like Bomb Rush or something.
Definitely "Indiana Jones And The Great Circle" .. I still have all the classic LucasArts Indy games on my X Box, PS2 and PC.. It will be nice to experience a modern gaming take on the franchise ..
Happy gaming, friends!!
@Jenkinss they've alluded to the Quake Marine, BJ Blaskowitz, and the Slayer all sharing the same universe, so I doubt the idea is dead. There's so much Quake in the new Doom games that it seems redundant...but yeah, I'd like a new Quake. The Nightdive releases have been wonderful.
Tough to pick just one. Most hopeful for Fable, but haven't seen enough gameplay to know if i'm truly excited for it yet. Still I'll vote for that. Doom looked absolutely incredible though.
Whilst the videos of games coming next year and beyond were dead interesting, there no way you can evaluate how good they will be from the trailers played.
So I'd have to pick something that might actually be delivered this year and that's Avowed for me. I have concerns over its brevity, but I hope it comes out OK!
Decent mention to Doom too. A bit to quick for my sad old man reflexes these days, but it's clearly going to be a high quality release, and unlike almost everything else, was happy to show real gameplay. I'm sure it will be huge!
@LikelySatan Like I said, no chance we see a Quake reboot after this, it's been cannibalized. All those years of persistent rumors of that Quake reboot, I guarantee, were this. If they ever do anything with the series again, which is unlikely, it'll probably be the dogsh*t strogg storyline. Quake 1 is the GOAT and now it's for sure dead.
I liked a lot of stuff, but I would say my top 4 would be: Gears, Fable, Perfect Dark and Shattered Space DLC.
@Jenkinss Okay well Quake con is in August, and the remasters just did really well. I'm still certain id has something cooking.
