Alright Capcom, why not?! The company has announced today that Dead Rising is getting another remaster at some point in the near future, and it's almost certainly coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at launch.
This version is known as Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, described as an "updated release with a brand new look". Details are very limited at the moment and we don't have a release date, but you can watch the teaser trailer above.
"Hello? Is this thing on? This is Frank! Frank West! Is anyone out there? Grab your camera and prepare for the big scoop on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Stay tuned for more info soon!"
As you may know, Dead Rising also received a remaster for Xbox One back in 2016, and that version was given away as part of Xbox Games With Gold in January of 2021. It's still a great game that's definitely worth playing today!
Let's hope for more details on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster in the near future, and if you're now in the mood to play some DR, it's worth noting that multiple games in the series are currently on offer in this week's Xbox sales.

I love dead rising ill buy this in hope there testing the water for more
I absolutely love remasters and remakes. Allows me to play some of my favorite games of all time again, in updated form. That said, there are limits to what should be done on this front and going beyond those limits starts to reek of cash grabs and wasted resources. Naughty Dog and Last of Us immediately comes to mind. I love the Dead Rising series, but this remaster is just not needed imo.
Capcom just dropping bangers on a random Wednesday. First the original Resident Evil trilogy pops up on GOG and now this.
I love this game
I wonder if they'll add co-op, it's such a staple of the rest of the series that it seems silly to not add it.
@Ricky-Spanish Knowing Capcom they probably are, and knowing Capcom their bar for this being enough of a success for them to revive the series is impossibly high.
Talk about totally random announcement.
To this day the only remaster/remake I have paid for is the original Resident Evil one.
And it'll stay that way.
Huh, interesting. On one hand we already have a remaster of Dead Rising available on Xbox One and PS4 and thus playable on Series X/S and PS5, but on the other hand that was clearly quite a low effort remaster. It'll be interesting to see what happens with this one.
Capcom is in a Golden Age. Should be a day one for me.
Likely coming to Series X? What does that mean? Of course it would. Lol.
@carlos82 they not putting the re og trilogy on console????
@Romans12 this is what im worried about for next gen, xbox missing out on more and more 3rd party games.
Would have liked a new from the ground up for this generation dead rising game, fantastic.
As for the remaster, utter tosh.
@rustyduck not as it stands, these versions have been updated for modern PC's by GOG themselves but hopefully this shows Capcom there is a demand for these titles to put them elsewhere
Lads, today we celebrate.
would be odd if it did not come to series x/s.
Why do I get the feeling that the laser sword and Mega Man weapon would be purchasable with real currency? Those two unlocks required time and effort. The RE series has some infinite ammo weapons as DLC. To be fair, they make the games accessible with those wanting to spend more $$,
I'm a bit disapointed i would havec expected a remake on unreal engine 5 in the current economy we live in i will stick with the original!
Faaaantastic!
@carlos82 There isn’t a single game in your favs list that you would jump at the chance to buy a remake of?
I had a blast with DR 3&4
Something about that thumbnail looked like Johnny Cash and Richard Nixon hybrid made in Fallout 4 character creator.
What is the point of this? They already remastered it for PS4 and One.
Hopefully, they will make the timer optional.
Loved the game but would rather see a full remake rather than just "yet another remaster".
Been busy this past week and then ran across this article. I was hoping for a full on remake of Dead Rising but I’ll take the remaster. I absolutely loved the first three games. They were a blast to play. They can do so much with this series. Glad to see they are giving it a second chance. I loved the original voice actor, we’ll see how well this new actor does but I’m looking forward to this one!
