Re: Capcom Has Added Microtransactions To Resident Evil 4 After Release

carlos82

Capcom have being doing this since at least the RE2 Remake, which allowed you to unlock all the weapons and Devil May Cry as well, so I'm not sure how it's suddenly news when they do it for like the 5th game in a row.

The strangest part about these is that they're actually pretty pointless to buy, on an average playthrough you can easily get a couple of them in game and in fact you don't even need them at all, as the upgrades are available without them anyway.

People just seemingly want to be upset about things these days

Re: Talking Point: Do You Buy Less Third-Party Titles Because Of Xbox Game Pass?

carlos82

It only makes a difference to Xbox's own games for me as I don't need to buy them and its rare that I play anything from EA or indeed many games day 1 but I wouldn't wait for any of them to be on Gamepass if I really wanted to play them. Resident Evil 4 for example is one of my most anticipated games and I've already preordered it but that's pretty much the exception these days

Re: Hands On: Our First Impressions Of GoldenEye 007 On Xbox Game Pass

carlos82

I've spent a lot of time with the N64 version since it first came out and can't say I've ever seen it wobble like it does in this.

That aside its pretty good overall with the only real disappointments being the wobble, the low res text which would have benefitted from being swapped out and the 30fps cap. Overall its very good and better then playing on an actual N64, a shame we'll never see the superior 360 version officially but at least a new generation gets to play it and we can again

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade January's Xbox Developer Direct?

carlos82

A for me and fair play, that was a great show, Forza Motorsport looks stunning and Redfall has shot up my wanted list and topped off with the cool surprise that was Hi Fi Rush. I really liked the format of gameplay and developer commentary and they need to keep to this style of presentation

Re: GoldenEye 007 Officially Arrives On Xbox Game Pass This Week

carlos82

Finally, it's great to see this game officially available on modern platforms again and ill be giving it a go. A bit of a shame its not the leaked XBLA version and it appears to be a rather basic emulation of it but I have that and a mouse and keyboard version on my PC.

That said I hope we get another print of RARE Replay with this and the other digital games on the disc and for me it still plays great even today

Re: Video: DF 'Face-Off' Draws Interesting Comparisons Between Xbox Series S And PS4 Pro

carlos82

I played Cyberpunk on both the Series S and One X back when it launched and even then it was a better experience on the Series S. The Series S is definitely the better of the consoles performance wise but it's not night and day like it has been in past generations, even on PS5 one of the best looking games I've played has been TLOU2 and that only has an fps boost over the Pro version.

Some of the comparisons here are a bit weird though, GTAV never even got a Pro/X patch and whilst I doubt it would hit 60fps it could certainly have looked much better. The big issue at launch for Series S was playing One S versions of last gen games but as time goes by and it gets its own games this won't matter as much

Re: Could We See GoldenEye 007 On Xbox Game Pass This Month?

carlos82

One of my favourite FPS games of the time and certainly on the N64. This release has just been weird though with the huge gap between its announcement and some update and still silence. Just a shame that Xbox won't get that XBLA version that was leaked a while ago and this just seems to be a basic emulation of the game.

@grumpypotato the endlessly spawning waves of enemies were when you set off the alarms, there are plenty of stages where there are a fixed number of enemies if played as intended. I had a lot of fun with its multiplayer but yes you really had to set your own ground rules beforehand and there were certainly much better multiplayer fps games at the time, just this was fun and easy to get 4 friends together and have a blast with

Re: 10 Random 'Gamers' Are Suing Microsoft Over The Activision Blizzard Deal

carlos82

What a joke, who cares what a few random people who have nothing to with this think. All these people panicking as if this creates some kind of monopoly which it can't. Despite COD's huge success, the overwhelming majority of gamers don't play it, same for pretty much any game except GTAV apparently.

Any court taking these clowns seriously need to have a word with themselves

Re: Xbox Fans Left Disappointed With Lack Of First-Party Reveals At The Game Awards 2022

carlos82

@Dezzy70 even online I think they have an issue with visibilityat times, my 6 year old watches random things on YouTube and whether it's through adverts or some games various YouTubers are playing he's aware of many games that he hasn't seen me play. He even links them to various platforms by how they played them or the advert logo, every time he mentions one to me or recognises one when I'm with him he only mentions Playstation or Nintendo even though I own all 3 and he's played on them all.

We see it with reviews as the majority of the time multiplatform games are often reviewed on Playstation and no showing things like the VGA won't help

Re: Xbox Fans Left Disappointed With Lack Of First-Party Reveals At The Game Awards 2022

carlos82

@Dezzy70 let's be honest not many gamers or people in general have used GAME for years and video games in general have long since lost their high street presence. Supermarkets either don't even have them or have greatly reduced their selections, GAME has disappeared into a poor sports shop. Xbox for a while has been squeezed out of even these limited spaces which makes sense as they focus on a digital and subscription based future

Re: Xbox Series X|S Fighting To Become The Best-Selling UK Console Of 2022

carlos82

@themightyant to be fair when I first started I couldn't play the likes of Resident Evil 7 for more than a couple of minutes in VR, standing up helped and playing games where you're static like this or Job Simulator helped get me used to it.

Hopefully you can get used to it in the future as even relatively simple games are completely transformed in VR

Re: Microsoft Shows Frustration As Sony Fails To Respond To 10-Year Call Of Duty Offer

carlos82

At this point the regulators need to stop being concerned about Sony's well being, it's not their job to ensure their position as the market leader. Xbox has clearly demonstrated the willingness to have COD available everywhere and there are other gaming platforms other than PlayStation, one which let's not forget is more than happy to keep games exclusive and pay for third parties to do so such as Final Fantasy for example

Re: Todd Howard On Starfield's Xbox Exclusivity: 'It's Just Awesome'

carlos82

@themightyant really? I didn't get that at all from HFW, it just felt like a very basic action RPG that didn't build upon the original in any meaningful way. It's certainly very pretty and the core combat is still good but it felt pretty lifeless to me.

As for Starfield and somewhat ironically given Xbox's perceived lack of output, this is the big current gen release between both sides that I'm truly excited for. Ratchet was pretty fun and The Medium was ok but here we are 2 years in and not much else is on offer in that regard. I'm a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games so this is right up my street but I'm not going to take Todd too seriously about its looks given the same nonsense about Fallout 76. I just hope it's much more polished at launch and it's story and RPG mechanics are up to the standard of their best games
