This review is waaay off the mark imo. To the point that i wonder if they actually played the expansion or just rushed through it for the review.

Also: "No effort to dazzle or convert naysayers" should never be a goal for developers let alone a point of criticism in a review.

As time passes PureXbox becomes more and more like it's sister site PushSquare. As in completely unreliable outside of just reporting news.

We simply can't have a big gaming event without having some major controversy about Xbox a few days before, usually centered around "rumours", can we?

Great. Lots of games, non-stop trailers with lots of gameplay. I don't like the fact though that we're starting to show trailers of games without even a year attached to them(looking at you Perfect Dark)

@BBB Yes, i know that. Still consider it a bad decision because if you played OW competively you were "forced" to buy the battle pass day one as you wouldn't want to be locked out of options in a game where countering is essential to your team winning(especially as a tank).

In any case that's a move in the right direction and i'm happy it's finally happening.

About time. Heroes and maps are the core of OW's gameplay and the 2 things that should never be locked behind a paywall.

So, he's saying that MS, the richest company in the world, needs the money from PS5 ports to hire "good product developement managers"? Like, what's stoping them from doing it right now? Money obviously isn't the problem....

Most of these are known or safe guesses.

Halfway through Sea of Stars before i delve into BG3. An amazing little gem that's on Game Pass. Highly recommend.

@RazputinAquato Totally agree. Personally i'm not a fan of uber-realistic aesthetics when it comes to superhero games. I prefer Arkane's style, as seen in Dishonored/Deathloop, for a comic book hero even one as grim and gritty as Blade.

Exactly like Gotham Knights. A co-op loot based adventure game with a roster of four characters to choose from where the original comic-book style costumes are locked behind the "pre-order" paywall. I predict a 6-8 month period before it arrives on Game Pass.

That's from the official website. So yeah, journalists and influencers(whatever that last one means).

The point of my comment is that, in my opinion, people give way too much credit in things like awards and review scores, which mostly serve as fuel for console wars at this point, and that they shouldn't let some "influencers" tell them which game is a great or goty or whatever and instead judge for themselves.

More critical thinking and less obsessing over double digit numbers is my message.

1. That i'm only talking about Starfield.

2. That i care about review scores at all.

You're wrong in both cases.

The day that i would let some "journalists" decide what's a good game for me and what's not...that would be the day!

These game awards were always a travesty anyway. At least we'll get to see some new announcements.

I'm not heavily interested in anything ABK other than Overwatch so here's what i want the most:

1. Make Overwatch great again.
2. Ditch the mediocre Xbox app/Windows Store functionality and fully integrate Microsoft PC gaming into Battle.net.

@JetmanUK I don't think it works that way. You'll have to subscribe to either Game Pass OR Ubi+ to stream ABK games. So, no extra cost if you already have Game Pass. The point of all this was that MS wouldn't have exclusive rights to ABK games streaming and the consumers had another option.

Again with this article? How many times do we have to do this dance? Can't we at least wait until the deal is officially closed?

Wraping things up in Starfield. Two playthroughs so far done all the faction/side quests i could find. So, now i'm in a more relaxed phase where i mess with the ship builder and exploring the more distant solar systems. In the meantime i started a new Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough but progressing very slowly right now waiting until Thursday when Phantom Liberty comes out.

@PhileasFragg Yes, i googled the "captain" part and it's self explanatory tbh, i just didn't understand what that meant for the private server. Thx for the clarification.

The ability to captain your own ship will remain exclusive to the original mode? So, you can't do that in a private server? What's the point then? I'm not familliar with the mechanics of the game so i'm prob missing something but that sounds lame.

On a side note i'd prefer if the remasters were for Morrowind and New Vegas. Morrowind because it needs it more and New Vegas for being the better game(though i love Fallout 3 too).

It took them 3 years to deliver on a game that launced at full price and with so much hype which is still unacceptable. Just a reminder since ppl tend to have short memories. Ofc i'll judge for myself when i play it but at least i'll give them some credit for hanging on to it and not dropping the ball. But i'll be very cautious moving towards Witcher 4.

I put Starfield on top mainly because of it's setting which is a huge factor for me.
But it's a bit unfair to make that comparison now because Starfield is a new IP that just came out whereas both Elder Scrolls and Fallout are beloved franchises with decades of history/lore behind them.
I'm sure that 5-10 years from now this will be a much different conversation.

Do we really need this kind of articles? With respect, it makes you look like beggars. It's one game(no matter how important it is). If it comes it comes, if it doesn't then so be it. It's not like there's a shortage of games Xbox players have to look forward to.

He's been through a rollercoaster of emotions lately

I know he and Phil are doing their job, which is to protect and reinforce their respective companies interests(among other things), but the stuff that sometimes come out of their mouths....holy crap........

Some Darksiders vibes in terms of combat which is a good thing. I do hope though that there are more diverse biomes in the game because as it stands now there's too much desert. Feels kinda barren.
Def on my radar but it's a case of "wait and see" before making a decision.

Close the studio that gave us Dishonored and Prey just because their latest project didn't go well? Overreacting much?

@NEStalgia Not true. Cain was the original creator of the Fallout engine and he was also the lead producer. The game was just a spiritual successor to Wasteland which Fargo worked back in the 80s but Fargo wasn't the creator of Fallout.

By far the most anticipated: Starfield
Other than that Stalker 2, Robocop and Dead Space(when it eventually comes to GP)
By far the least interesting: Suicide Squad

Good times...

Out of these? New Vegas. In general though i would say Fallout 2.

A new Fallout from Obsidian since we're not gonna see a new entry from Bethesda until around 2030 with Starfield and TES6 on the horizon. Unlikely to happen though since Obsidian is already working on 3 projects(at least).

@RevGaming No one said Nintendo is copying Game Pass. The article is talking about subscription renewals.

Since there's a lot of talk about Sony, i don't know if they're gonna try to keep the game from coming to Xbox but you can bet your life savings they'll do everything in their power to keep it out of Game Pass.

A relic from a bygone era. With what Xbox is doing for the last few years onward they should really start getting rid of these stains.

I don't think Dead Space and Hellblade are coming this year. Still a lot of great games to look out for.

Ok, truth time.
Psychonauts 2, It Takes Two and Ratchet & Clank won't win because "cartoon games", although the latter has a slight chance on account of being a Sony first party.
Metroid Dread is also out of the equation because it's a 2D platformer/Metroidvania and these are almost exclusively associated with the indie scene.
So, it's either gonna be Deathloop or RE Village. Which i'm not saying is a bad thing. In fact i believe they are excellent games(although haven't played them yet). I'm just trying to highlight what i believe is the mentality behind these procedures.

So, in retrospect: two AAA titles compete for the award while the rest are there to fill the list for the sake of diversity.

From the experience i've had with a couple of entries so far from the series i'd say i'm interested but not to the point that i'd spend money on it. At least not at full price. I think this is a perfect game for GP.
