Yesterday saw the publication of a big report from Insider Gaming about the current state of Ubisoft from an internal perspective, with suggestions that "morale is at an all-time low" and there have been concerns around things like delayed/cancelled games, management issues and the potential of employee cuts at some point in the future.
That said, it isn't all doom and gloom, as the report highlights "one of [Ubisoft's] best lineups of games in recent memory" for the next few years. Here's what's apparently planned in terms of new Ubisoft releases:
- Star Wars Outlaws (First half of 2024)
- Assassin's Creed Codename Red (Second half of 2024)
- Ghost Recon mainline entry (2025/2026)
- Far Cry mainline entry (2025/2026)
- Far Cry multiplayer game (2025/2026)
- Assassin's Creed Hexe (2025/2026)
- Assassin's Creed Invictus (2025/2026)
- Splinter Cell Remake (2025/2026)
- Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake (TBD)
- "Several new Assassin's Creed games" (TBD)
The report mentions that if Ubisoft can find success with this slate of titles, "the feeling both within and around the company is likely to change". That said, it's suggested that a "strong change in direction" needs to happen first.
In terms of recent Ubisoft games on Xbox, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was a big success from a critical perspective but apparently not so much a financial one, reportedly selling around 300,000 copies so far (estimated $15m in revenue). Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora fared better, racking in a reported 1.9 million players (estimated $133m in revenue), and Assassin's Creed Mirage is said to stand at 5 million players (estimated $250m in revenue).

Shame about Prince of Persia not selling well. Although to be fair I am playing it on Ubisoft+.
@Kaloudz Yeah, I'm not sure. I assume they just forgot to include it in the report? 🤷♂️
Star Wars Outlaws does look cool from what they've shown.
Far Cry with dinosaurs? Please? I feel like Far Cry with dinosaurs is like a licence to print money.
Remakes of Black Flag and Splinter Cell are both things I'd be interested in. @CharlieChooChoo Splinter Cell on original Xbox was an incredible looking game, wasn't it?
Aside from the MP stuff and BF, interested in most of these.
Most of these are known or safe guesses.
No Division game?
I am quite looking forward to AC Hexe. Could be an interesting one.
As soon as the Outlaws game comes out, I think I will get a few months of Ubi+ to play that, Avatar and new PoP
AC Codename Red, Star Wars Outlaws and a new Far Cry game are all likely day 1 buys for me. Surprise there’s no mention of a new Division game - I thought they were working on something? 🤔
It's depressing to not see any new IPs there.
@CharlieChooChoo
100%, I loved Splinter Cell growing up. I would love to see it for the Series X now.
I do love a little Far Cry but what puts me off is the FOV, it's so close I can barely see where I'm going.
Surprised about Prince of Persia.
I could have told you the Ubisoft lineup is more assassins creed games
Ubisoft should produce weird or edgy games (like El Paso Elsewhere or Slayers X : Terminal Aftermath for example).
People are tired of their Formula (Far Cry 28, Assassin's Creed 18...)
It would be "Less budget for more street cred" philosophy. And they have talents for that.
Star Wars Outlaws 100% October 2024 at the earliest. It will be stacked the month before or after AC Codename Red.
We'll get the launch dates for both plus a look at 2025 games at the typical Ubi Forward this summer.
I would like to see more Watch Dogs but I think they will be playing it safe now with the more creative title being lower budget.
@CharlieChooChoo
Sorry for the late reply. Definitely need Michael Ironside, Blacklist was great however the I didn't feel that connection with Sam the same way I did with Michael Ironside.
